Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

I was really planning on hitting the ranked program hard last weekend but got sick so had to really hit it hard Tuesday and yesterday afternoon , so i got to the program pack and took Randy of course but now im really trying to finish the program to get that one special pack that they let you grind for .. if i could hit the rare round for that Corbin Burnes it would be amazing ... im 14-6 overall in Ranked right now and ive been feeling much better but as im gotten over 500 rating i always run into 1 guy getting cooked ...

i am also so tired of all these damn packs that im not going to buy and im just hoping they are seeing all the disgust about it and put them into the TA conquest we will get on friday .

Even a showdown if they threw a pack at the end of one and just made it not repeatable....like you couldn't just repeat the showdown excessively.

        Yea it's a shame.

Seems they are trying to eliminate no money spent. I have not and will not ever spend a dime on stubs.

They’re really making it not fun for NMS players. Buying stubs and packs is just such an insanely bad value proposition that I can’t imagine that many people spend on it. I think the only people that are having a good time are the ones that can consistently go flawless in BR. No cards you can grind for are ever sellable so unless you’re flipping cards or grinding mini seasons at an unhealthy rate, stubs are hard to come by.

At least we get a new BR program tomorrow. Maybe we’ll get another card as fun as that Willie Castro. That card is so good.

All my posts are complaints this year lol... I'm actually looking forward to ta2 since there will actually be stuff to do

BUT, I saw they just released flawless rewards of Ryan Braun and Fernando... They're the same cards as past few years, change up the card art or something...i wasn't disappointed at the players as much as it just seems like the same exact thing.

I'm actually curious in how Mike Cameron will look as I don't remember using him... I see people complain abiut degrom but I'll be happy to get any new pitching so I think ranked is good and atleast we've never got a 2nd half degrom so it feels like I'm earning something I've never gotten before even tho it's more or less the same thing

Also curious how Andrew painter at a 94 will look in the event. Hopefully his pitch mix is good

Overall looking forward to new content, I really like br so kind've bummed with that one but looking forward to the rest

Hoping conquest maps are juicy rewards

Finished the ranked program from the Fresh Start pack and of course got the base round, took Chris Sale just to bolster the pitching a bit .. i did hit my highest ranking i believe ever at 634 so that gives me a little bit more confidence that i can make it to that elusive 700 rating for me , i look forward to the challenge.

I'm looking forwards to grinding new TA2 and all the new things, but i wish we got a different player other than Joe Torre for the Cards . I was hoping for a new prospect or something but o well he is always useable for me so should be fun .

I was hoping for a new braves card to slap onto my Buxton/Matzek hybrid but it's that same Eddie Mathews we always get lmao

Austin Riley still the goat altho I do need another lefty in my lineup. But I doubt Eddie has under 60 vision so I wouldn't get max Buxton boost

its like we get the same legends each year and never really the fun prospect cards same with the Padres with Gwynn or Boston with Jim Rice and the Royals with Bret Saberhagen lol

Yea that's one thing that annoys me. They boast about the new legends every year before release yet they're never at the for front of the content. It's always guys we've had for multiple years. This year seems especially egregious with the recycling of cards with no content to actually earn the cards unless you're willing to buy stubs.

Yeah I've been pounding the pavement for just getting more Ludwicks etc. of the world into the game even if they're not "legends" just because it still helps. I know guys like Aurilia get meme'd on a bit, but it's nice getting those dudes in here to just keep it going. I'm sure licensing individual players means even getting "smaller" retired players is still a pain and costs but just seems like they should be doing everything in their power to expand the pool.

I’m not too thrilled with Torre, but with Hence and Scott II already having cards, I’m not sure who they could have picked for a Pipeline card. I’m just kinda hoping that Torre is slow enough to qualify for the Arenado boost. I’m still waiting for an Edmonds card, got lucky last year having them release the Gold Glove one really early, but we at least usually have a gold Angels version by now.

                          Where is everyone starting?

I did the extreme moments (didn't try Verlander, and with Matthews I kept hitting line drives to rf so gave up... Finished the others pretty quick)

Just started a showdown, seems pretty easy for a little over 10k xp

I'll eventually do event but I want to earn some of the current ta2 cards to use first

I went straight into events tonight and got to 20 wins and sold the card for getting there. My TA progress just from that:
                            ALE: 16%
                            ALC: 2%
                            ALW: 63%
                            NLE: 38%
                            NLC: 7%
                            NLW: 28%

Trout, Griffey, Randy, A Miller, Wagner, and Gagne were doing the heavy lifting for that TA progress. When I jump into ranked tomorrow I’m sure the NLC will go up pretty quick with most of my team being Cardinals.

i went into the Xtreme showdown and lost the 1st time around on the 2nd to last boss and i hated it but redid it after the kid went to bed and beat it quickly ... as much as it pains me as a Cards fan i think my favorite card so far just from that is that Michael Busch from the Cubs he killed in the showdown but i did get to the first pack in the NLC and took the Torre card because he did great for me as i expected.. i am going to start on the conquest and maybe events tomorrow night while im watching UFC 300 should be a fun gaming night for me ... I am liking all the content so far other than the monthly award things , they suck to me ...

as for what card i was hoping for was maybe a new one for that Thomas Saggase or a Edmonds would have been fantastic.

Riley is hitting .600 for me in online - absolute beast.

I'm really enjoyed TA2. Love the extreme stuff - completed showdown and a few of the moments, and then did the 30K exchange for 3 divisions to get Chili Davis, Jasson Dominguez, and Joe Torre. All 3 have great swings and will be a lot of fun in events. It's awesome being 30% complete on most of them 1 night in, although I'm not sure I love the voucher thing for conquest.

Ranked was awesome for me. I went 12-4, which is the worst record I've ever had but I completed the program for the first time ever and got Randy. Amazing games, lots of 1 run games including a walkoff from Albies (my other best hitter), and the losses were all to teams that were about .500. Frustrating, but it feels like you can lose to just about anyone this year.

As for the grind, I've been sitting at 100K forever. There's really no way to make money. Last year, you grinded a little faster, sold your winnings through the main program, and then bought them back later at a savings if you really wanted the card. This year, I don't feel like that option is available at all. Grinding ranked, ironically, is probably the best money maker and that's not an easy thing. I don't think I'm ever going to finish the Live Series collection, and maybe that's ok since getting Rollins, Brett, etc. is clearly more impactful to your lineup. Buying up all those 3-5K cards that are now free packs in TA2 will help, but as for live and wealth building ... ??
