Crazy that with the slower creep of XP, that outside of just grinding mini seasons goals over and over for 12-18 packs in hopes to pull the big diamonds, I've legit had nothing to do lol.

Which I'm ok with, because it allows me to keep up with other games, but it just feels weird not moving forward on the season 1 path faster. Hit 15k, then done. Rinse and repeat. The start of the season and content will be nice.

and I'm loving the Mets lineup with the team captains (Thor/Delgado). Fantastic how the lineup looks with them active for a guy like myself that likes this theme team stuff. Now just hope these guys have a decent season and only go up ratings wise for the live series ones. Or at least until they get a Topps Now card or another type at some point.

Yeah I feel like I don't play that much and I'm kind've "bored" and they doubled down on their 15k cap limit instead of listening to the community today

Maybe with the season started more will happen

Finish ta conquest and spring conquest, 7-0 ranked, finished br, finished most of team affinity, 10 wins in the event, finished rookie program thing.

Havent started nations or mini seasons but I don't really want to.

I would like more ways to earn packs.

The same 3 inning cpu game doesn't appeal to me that much. For team affinity I've already done alot of that!

Just adding what the lineup looks like with the boosts. LFGM! (Note I use Wagnor and Franco in the bullpen as well, clearly no boosts.)

I like them doubling down, ultimately they're right about not letting people race through because it's such a small minority of people who do it anyway. We're the freaks, don't cater to us. The only tweak I would make is if you don't log-in one day, just let the person accrue that 15K on top of the 15K they missed (just have it rollover each 7-day period).

15k is crazy small, its dumb

If on a saturday of opening day weekend I play conquest casually on all star and I reach my limit at like 8 hrs without evening "trying hard" then i literally turned the game off and quit playing....and then Monday afternoon thru Friday I'm pretty much limited to 60 mins a day on Tu/W/Fri.

Yeah, limit going to blank canvas and hitting 50000 homeruns on rookie mindlessly against the CPU for 24 hrs... but no reason you should hit a cap when you're mindlessly playing and not even "grinding" to do the standard stuff they give us to do

You just run into the same issue on the back end then because then you're done after like a month and there's two months left and you're just wondering why the seasons are so long etc. Again, I think a cap on the amount in a game you can get could be interesting as well -- I'm not saying there are zero tweaks to make to a "cap" system -- but either way the general idea is smart and good for the long run.

I think its a bit overblown by the community. As SDS clearly laid-out in the patch notes, there are other opportunities to gain XP to advance in the program outside of gameplay XP (and I have to imagine that a lot more will be coming as we get into the real baseball season).

The other thing is that the main program path is not the "end all, be all" of the mode. Even if someone has hit the cap for the day, there's still plenty to work on and I think the narrative that playing after hitting the cap is a "waste of time" because they aren't earning gameplay XP (which only serves a singular purpose) is self-defeating. Continue working to complete programs, TA, and other items that earn the larger XP chunks (i.e. those that occur outside of gameplay).

I think the major question is going to be the size of the XP chunks other programs grant to users. If SDS is trying to move to a model where most users earn the majority of their main program XP via completing programs (like Topps Now and so on) vs gameplay XP, I think that is a much better model overall.

However, if a person can complete all the program stuff offered during a season that grants XP but they come nowhere close to completing the main program by the end of the season because they weren't hitting the 15k cap every day - then THAT is a very poor model. Given SDS' history of being pretty user friendly, I seriously doubt that this will be the case.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I love the 15k cap. It does stink that a casual grind gameplay wise caps out quickly, but I'm cool with that compared to years past. I'd assume most people would still have other missions etc to earn extra xp onto of the gameplay cap. Most people don't realize they can earn more than 15k a day, that the 15k is just on field xp etc.

As for guys like myself and I'm sure others in here though we have had all things completed and legit can only earn 15k a day, unless we take a deep BR run etc. and again I'm ok with that overall.

I'm still sorting through how I feel about DD this year. I like the slow grind to 99 - really enjoying the use of gold and lower diamond cards. I love that programs are paced better - I just got 100% of TA, earned Gagne last week in BR, and completed the US map today. But I haven't played a lot compared to last year, which I like - last year felt like a day missed was a card becoming unattainable.

The only critique is that by lengthening the program AND limited / lowering XP, it's having a bit of a demotivating effect on me. Rollins was the GOAT for me in BR ... like .800 average consistently. I won't have him for another month. And that's ok ... but I'm jonesing for that feeling of invincibility in the box and David Justice (god love him) isn't doing it for me.

I'll probably try the new event out and flirt with Ranked - I always drag my feet on Ranked. I like the balance they've struck so I can find a better one myself - the last two years I played the game too much, and it felt like a bad addiction. But a small sliver of me wishes I could go bananas like last year and have Rollins and Brett in my lineup already.

With the season starting and Inside Edge activating, I decided to buy Trout while he was at a bit of a dip. If he goes on a tear I feel like SDS will aggressively boost him to raise his overall. He's also Buxton Boost eligible so I'm starting him over Crews, even though Crews is really a Trout-lite offensively with better Fielding.

I had enough time to complete the Egg Conquest and the Starter Showdown egg. First I've really been able to play this week because of work. I suddenly feel massively behind even though I know I'm not. I really need to get into Ranked and BR soon so I can complete the programs but I just don't have time.

Down to NL West and AL East for Team Affinity. I also have a Mini Seasons run going so I should be able to get that done before Chapter 2. I'm still two levels short of the Pitching Captain pack and desperately want to get there so I can take Matzek and activate the Braves boost on top of Buxton.

I've played DD since 2020 and this is the first year I feel that demotivated thing. It almost feels like end of year time to me when you get finest cards and then nothing to grind for.

Saturday and Monday are really my two days where I can play a good chunk. Yesterday I did the conquest map for the egg thing and finished TA by using all nl west players. I did it while watching hockey. Once I finished I turned it off for the rest of the day and won't play today Sunday. Then after doing the conquest map I only got like 10 or 20 points in the egg hunt thing. All my packs were duds.

Yeah it's like I can use Jimmy Rollins and Brett in a month or so... Yay.

Then when the game came out and I was working on ta then hit the cap limit super quick it's kind've like what's the point....

I have more interest in trying out yamamoto, matsui, Langford types and they're all 50+ k but I can do a bunch of random **** to earn a Willie mccovey lol

Idk I feel like I'm usually an advocate for the game in past years when others complain and so far this year it just doesn't have me hooked

Even the Jeter thing was cool but the cards it gives you are pretty much invalid before the season starts along with the negro league cards

I'll chip away at events tmrw just to do it but I don't feel much of a path of intent anywhere in the game.

I think I've just come to realize the game is so much better when there aren't 99s everywhere. Which makes sense because you don't build the game for that sort of meta, and it's why things like Madden and NBA 2K also feel crappier as the year goes on when it's just insane rated guys everywhere in their card modes.

I feel like I'd go even further with keeping lower rated guys around, albeit I know at the highest end levels some of the scores get crazy right now because peeps don't feel like they can pitch, but I'd put that more on tuning the pitching-hitting system for HOF/Legend than anything else (and some people just being insane at hitting).

They could continue to make some tweaks to content etc. to continue to push lineup diversity, but ultimately I'm having so much more fun this year because game to game it's just way more enjoyable.

For those who just want to chase the shiny thing, I can see why they would be down a bit on the game this year, but I think catering to those people makes a worse game over the course of the season if I'm being blunt.

Finally got the first Pitching Captain pack so built a hybrid max Buxton/Braves build

Golly gee is it fun doing this stuff. It almost feels wrong boosting guys up to a 97 or 98. It kills the utility of your bench and bullpen depth but realistically how often am I using my bench or even running through my entire bullpen?

I feel like the trade off is pretty spot on sacrificing depth for more high powered starting options

Right about the bench/pen. But, once we start getting some other cards for each team hopefully, you can just use the best 14 and then piece together where you need to with better cards and have at it.

Will be fun being able to use some cards you might otherwise not be able to all while using some other good ones mixed in.

                              Having a blast this year.

I just finished the BR program two days ago at 150 points, best run was 6-2 a few times. Kept missing that 7 win bonus for the program or would have been done a bit quicker.

Just finished the new event at 35-16 as well.

Time for the railed program I guess because I have everything else completed. Possible 5th mini season run for packs, still need a few big diamonds, plus need 50 more jelly beans to get to that 100 jelly bean exchange pack.

So one of my biggest complaints about last year was the amount of premium packs that you never were given as a reward until the card was no longer relevant or until the game was at the end cycle of content. I think it’s insanely worse about this so far this year. Every week is a new premium pack and it’s never in any program or conquest map. I’m not expecting to just get free rare rounds, but the chance to pull one makes it exciting and it was one of the best ways to make stubs NMS 2 years ago when I first started playing the show. I’m just really disappointed that this is the direction that they’re going and it’s souring me on what has otherwise been a really fun experience.

Probably bouncing even earlier this year if they don’t change course.
