For anyone playing head to head already, what's been the impact of the disengagement rule so far? The CPU doesn't look to take advantage of it much, but I'd assume it's pushed to the limit in head to head online...

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)
Well after taking friday off again and playing a lot on Saturday as well , i believe i am halfway through the Us map and done with all 3 TA maps . haven't gotten online yet , i will probably wait to finish the US map then hop on events or ranked. I am 100% on the TA NL East and the NL Central ( i used the Flaherty Card for the Central and then the Wagner on the East, I'm using the Clase card for the AL Central now to finish it)
i am loving the game so far feels very smooth and loving the exit velos being juiced . Early game Cards im loving so far are the Woods and Johnson from the Break out series . i can't hit with Crew which sucks , i am loving the Richie Sexson card i always liked him as a player so he has been really fun and the Buxton boost is amazing ..
my line up right now is
SS Mondesi ( had to buy him and add with the boost)
CF Buxton
RF Breakout Woods
LF Ta Stanton
1B Manzardo
DH Hyper RIchie Sexson
3B Josh Gibson ( love the bat sound but cant hit crap with him so far)
C Breakout Ford
2B Breakout Johnson
Bench
TA Votto
Breakout Crews
TA Grandal
Live Series GoldyComment

You aren’t lying about BR. I started playing that after I hit the xp cap yesterday because there’s a good amount of xp rewards in that program path, but it was tough going, I don’t think I won more than 3 games per run.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)
I played the first online game that I have played in many years. It was and wasn't embarrassing.
It wasn't embarrassing since I only gave up one hit, which unfortunately was a HR.
It was embarrassing because I was no hit. I made contact and put some balls in play, but none found a hole.
Edit: It was BR so it was only 3 innings it would be more embarrassing if I had been no hit for 9Last edited by Dolenz; 03-18-2024, 06:03 PM.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)
Don’t feel bad, I was the victim of a perfect game once, the year of Cabrera and his sinker. Started hitting the ball hard right at fielders then got out of sync, was swinging at balls, taking strikes. It was brutal and embarrassing.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)
I have been trying to approach this year a little bit differently and try and play more with players and try to avoid grinding for the sake of grinding.
I believe I’m going to go with a Yankees theme team online so my first goal has been to pick up as many Yankees as possible. I’ve managed to get everyone but Judge and Cole for LS, and enough money to get Judge tonight, just debating on whether it’s better to buy tonight or wait until release.
I’ve finished the storylines this year and think they’ve done a good job with both, and am looking forward to the rest of the storylines.
I’ve been selling anything of value non-Yankee related so I don’t have much depth. I’m trying not to drop below AS difficulty this year as well so putting together a team of mixed players across divisions has been a challenge. My pitching staff feels like I’m playing moonshot, and I’m relying on the Buxton boost for offense.
And surprisingly it’s been a lot of fun. Have to play carefully, and it’s been interesting so far. Definitely feels like a lot more variety in hitting without hitting many non-Buxton home runs. I’m looking forward to rounding out the lineup a little bit more, but really hope they do more like this with captains this year as it feels much better this year.Comment

Judge is at a decent cost for how good his card is, before any boosts.
Granted it's impossible to tell how the market will act year to year, but it's usually a safe bet to buy those 90+ guys earlier.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

I'll caution that I'll never tell anyone what to do with their Stubs, but traditionally the 90+ Live Series cards get more expensive after standard release.

He does get the Buxton boost but I hate to spend 200k and he poop out after a monthComment

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)
Finished-up the US map tonight...always fun. The other programs are both done. Might dive into the TA maps but not rushing - I have franchise to play too...
Deciding to go all 'self-found' for the LS collection (i.e. no buying individual LS cards off of the market), I always rush too quickly and wind up killing one thing to keep my interest. I'll reconsider the decision depending on where I am with both the mode and the collection at the end of S1.
I've been using the Senga captain so far (I hate Buxton and Arenado's restrictions for my style and Maddux's build is just odd).
Absolutely loving the Palmeiro from the Starter program (already up to PIII on him).Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I honestly have no regrets even if I could have saved some stubs later this week because it likely will go the other way.
I don’t feel as much of a rush with Cole, but looking forward to getting him to stop selling everything and just go with flow.Comment
