Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

There's known issues with Pinpoint right now out of the stretch, so anyone playing hyper competitively online will want to eliminate that variable.

I'm using Iglesias from the TA AL West pack because all I heard was that Leclerc has issues, but I'm having the exact same problem with Iglesias. I'm doing what the gesture wants, yet it's giving me yellow inputs and I'm getting low percentages.

Cbrev said the gameplay devs are aware so I'm assuming there will be a patch in the next week or so. Hopefully.

Just pulled Ohtani live series from a generic pack earned in conquest. I've never gotten a high-end card this early in the game, so is it wise to sell him right now (price is over 235k stubs as of this post) or just collect him and use him?

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

Wrapping up the first week and I’ve been enjoying things so far. I’ve been playing with a team with players on all divisions with spring breakout players as I’ve unlocked them and was a little worried about team affinity to start after taking what felt like a long time to reach first boss.

But other than adding the boss’s to my lineup I basically just was playing and made a lot of progress. I didn’t even go into the spring breakout program and finished that without moments or the showdown. Which to me is just such a better experience than last year.

I’m finished up with all the conquest maps, and i think i still could use a little more pinpoint practice before going online. Or at least a pitching captain before ranked, so I’m going to give mini seasons a go and finish up TA I think.

At least traditionally the gatekeepers will keep going up in price. But I always feel it’s better to come down to do you like using Ohtani? Will you have more fun with Ohtani or whatever else you’d buy for his stubs?

You could probably try him out without locking him in and still sell for a profit if you don’t like him. But a lot depends on what your goals are.

Depends entirely on what your longterm intentions are.

If you absolutely want Babe Ruth, Rafael Palmeiro and/or Pedro that will dictate what to do. Gatekeepers only increase in cost and Ohtani is currently the highest rated player so he'll be the most expensive card. Unless something crazy happens with this situation involving his translator and he doesn't play, or unless injury, it'll take him playing poorly for a couple months to really drop.

Just for reference, I personally don't care about Babe Ruth or Palmeiro. I DO want Pedro, though. So I'm focusing my Stubs on the National League collection. If I pull Ohtani I'm absolutely keeping him towards the collection.

No matter what, I wouldn't collect Ohtani and lock him in just yet. Unless locking him in is the last step before you finish a collection you want.

The Seasonal collections and any special collections they come out with will have better cards than the Live Series. The days of LS being the top cards are gone as better and more interesting cards will come in the future. So, if you're not interested in any of the LS collection cards at all you can also sell Ohtani and just bank the Stubs and keep growing your stack and pretty much buy any card you want as they come out.

If you sell, I highly suggest avoiding packs. Don't be lured into burning Stubs when you already pulled the most valuable card in the game.

Glad I'm not the only one. I'm looking at the gesture, I'm doing it (even in practice mode)...and I feel like I'm doing it exactly the same speed or I speed up from a slower time previously and I'm still like 73% accuracy or whatever.

IDK what's specific with leclerc that makes him bad but his 4 seamer is about impossible. I feel like I could do his slider flawless and oddly enough I feel like I've gotten pretty good with sinkers/cutters. Changeups i've had problems with everyone, all curves are hanging in the zone. I've kept with pinpoint and hadn't switched to another method yet.

Only pitcher that i've felt confident with is the brewers spring guy maserzowski or whatever his name is

I pulled judge and sold him right away. I'm sitting at 240k stubs right now and haven't bought anything yet.

I don't really care about babe ruth cause I never hit well with him. I'll prob do collections eventually but maybe not. I'd rather build up my pen and rotation for ranked/events with my stubs.

I contemplated buying trout because I like his swing, he'll have inside edge and he makes the buxton team but ultimately I just sat on my stubs and he's gone up in price since i considered it. I don't really like the volatility of live series cards if you plan to use them on your regular squad. If trout had all his normal quirks I prob would've bought him at 220 or whatever it was but I don't think he has dead red nor breaking ball hitter so I passed.

Honestly, I'll prob sit on my stubs until we get a flash sale and then scoop everything up at a super discount even if that's like a month from now.

                  Thanks for the in-depth reply.

I don't really have intentions when playing DD. I only play single player modes for the most part and co-op with my son in DD because I really just enjoy playing with players from different generations. It's a fun break from playing franchise.

I decided to go ahead and collect him because I do enjoy finishing the live series collection every year.

Re: What Are You Working On? (MLB The Show 24 Edition)

Working on the East Conquest map to finish all the TA maps. I have NL East and AL Central done. NL Central at 78%, AL West at 56% and NL West at 37%. Very little progress in AL East but I'll get the points to boost me forward after finishing the map. Just playing through with my main squad since you don't have to actually hardcore grind TA this time around.

Got to the Hitter Captains and took Swanson since he gets Buxton boost. If Baez wasn't so expensive I'd buy him but definitely not paying 150k for a 91 overall this early in the game. Fully boosted Swanson is still nasty with 90/100/88/87/100 clutch/99 Fielding and 87 Speed.

When I get to Pitcher Captain pack, I might take Matzek and just stack my bench with Braves. I can get Tier 2 without really pushing too much which boosts Acuna, Olson, Swanson and Riley offensively a bit to stack on the Buxton for everyone but Acuna.

I feel like the Buxton build isn't super viable once you reach Hall of Fame, but it takes a bit to get there and this team is just stupid fun.

Decided to work on some collections, too. I have a bunch of lower rated AL Diamonds that don't seem worth selling off because it won't really give me much headway with NL. I sold high on all my Giants stuff when the market spiked and just bought everyone back for way lower than I sold off for. Even Snell isn't that far from quicksell.

I have buy orders in for 2 Diamonds for Phillies, Reds done except for Elly who I'll just wait to drop, need a couple for Pirates that need to come down a bit, everyone but Carroll for Diamondbacks, pretty much all Dodgers except the Diamonds, all Padres except Waldron and the new additions.

So realistically pretty much done with NL outside of the big boy Dodgers. They were always going to be the final NL team because of Ohtani so we'll see how my free pack pulls go over the short term. Will still be over 100k Stubs once my sell orders go through. Haven't really spent any time flipping because I can't stand doing it so will just continue to wait out the market and hope I pull heat.

Lost my first br game, won 6, then lost going for my #7 win

Lost 1-0 at shippet after scoring 10+ two games Ina row lol

Also broke a precision ring already altho I really do like using it. Don't want to spend 10 bucks every 3 days so hopefully the 2md one lasts longer

Got 7 wins now (in a row) in my current run altho I lost the first game again so not sniffing 10-0 yet.

Hate to say but I used the babe Ruth glitch. Not sure if that's cheesy but others are doing it and I needed some momentum /confidence and Def much easier to pitch with a diamond

Already got babe to p3 and batting 5 for 5 with 2 hr so maybe I should think about doing collections after all. Swing seems a little quicker compared to previous years

Finished off the East map so all offline stuff is done outside of Mini Seasons.

Ended up pulling Judge from the packs which was nice. I love Judge and he fits the Buxton build but I'm loving my team right now. Stanton is a machine at DH, Buxton in LF with Crews in CF and Ronnie in RF. Finding a spot for Judge at this point would be tough so I'll probably just add him to the bench for now.

Funny part is I just packed Cole a couple days ago and sold him. I could have collected the Yankees without spending much Stubs but Bernie isn't making this team at this point as much as that card looks fun.

Finished off a bunch of collection stuff and pretty much just Ohtani, Betts and Freeman from finishing the NL.

Sorry, I didn't want to go through all the pages here and I have a question.

In the programs where they have where you have activities like Moments etc. There is now a new Multi-Player activity to get points to advance in the programs. Do we really need to play Multi-Player to complete the program?

                            Thanks
