Official RTTS Thread..

hey guys, i didnt see a thread for this so i figured i'd start one..

post in here your ups and downs of your RTTS Career.. i'm interested to see how other members careers went..

i started mine yesterday afternoon before work.. i made myself lol.. 26 year old rookie starting pitcher.. i'm playing on the default settings right now, nothing tweaked at all.. i had a solid spring training with my Mets.. went like 3-1 with an ERA of 3 something.. after spring training i got sent down to double a booooooo.. lost my first start bad.. i'm now 3-1 with a high 2 ERA with 2 ND's..

i'm really digging this mode for some reason..

anyway, share some stories if ya want..

I'm still waiting for my Ps3 game to come to Spain from USA, but in the PSP the RTTS mode is what i play the most, i really love to only manage my own player. In the PSP i enjoy more being a batter, as it's hard for me to see the pitching meter and you don't have as much control with the small analog stick, but once i get the PS3 version, I'll start a career as SP.

The only issue i have with it is that your defensive performance doesn't affect anything and your manager doesn't set any kind of defensive goals for you to accomplish.

i to like the fact that you are just one player and the game flys by.. good stuff!! i will def start a chise sometime soon when i settle on a roster set but the RTTS will prob get the most play time..

Started mine up last night as a CF in the Rangers organization. Started the spring off slow as I was learning the game, but ended the spring hitting .298 with 10 RBIs and a handful of SBs. Started the season at AA Frisco, and through the first 3 weeks, I'm batting .415 with 1HR and 16 RBI, 5 for 5 on SBs playing everyday in center. I'm hoping to get called up to AAA OK City soon.

I love this mode. I picked up the game last night, and I'm already 3 weeks into the season, and didn't play too terribly late last night.

Started as a SS with the Red Sox. I batted about .100 through Spring Training but was assigned to AA. Through about 5 games, I'm batting around .285 with 5 steals. Still haven't hit a HR yet. I'm awful at batting in this game. Although this is the first time that I've ever played the Show series, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Yeah, I was the same way. Took me half the spring to start getting hits, really. When I hit my first home run, I didn't think I got it all, and thought the left fielder caught it at the wall. I started cursing, and my brother said, "what? you just hit a home run!"

Using my player as a 2B, I started off my spring hot, going 3-5 in my first game. Slumped for a while and my AVG dropped down to as low as .250. Heated back up towards the end of spring and finished at .300 with 1 HR, 12 RBI, and 8 steals. (OBP is only .290, and OPS is under .700 though, horrible.)

Haven't played in the regular season yet, they sent me to AAA Norfolk, but I'm on the bench.

Nice!!! I need to work on my power. Been putting it all in hitting and arm strength (I'm a girly man in center, worse than Damon, even) so far, so I've only got 1 HR, but it was an opposite field shot. I also had a bases loaded double off the top of the high wall in one of the minor league stadiums.

I can't wait (very far off, I know) until they have detailed real minor league stadiums, too. The Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco (RoughRiders, Rangers' AA) is really nice.

Do you still pick your team at the start of RTTS on PS3 or is there a random/draft element in regards to where your player ends up?

Typically how long does it take to get called up to AAA.

i'm a SS hitting about .450 with 4 HR's and 14 RBI's in 10 games

I randomly picked a team (closed my eyes and cycled through the teams for a minute and then stopped) and ended on the Diamondbacks. (I view this as being drafted by them, since you wouldn't have any say in real life anyway.)

I am a Closer, and I went 0-1, with 12 saves in Spring Training. I was sent down to AAA Tucson. I saved the first game. The second game I injured my arm while facing the second batter. They determined it was nothing serious, and I came back after one game. Then in my next appearance, after three pitches, I left the game with a fractured arm. I was out for 2 months.

When I came back, I got a save (although it wasn't pretty). My next game I got lit up and lost the game. Then I got lit up again, and they sent me to AA Mobile. There I got lit up in the first game. Then I came into my second game with a 4 run lead and the bases loaded. I gave up two runs, but earned the save.

Then I went to bed.

are you involved on every groundout? have to cover the base etc?

i want to start one as a 1b and a closer.. this mode is fun as heck..
