Re: **MLB 08: The Show (PS2) First Impressions Thread**

I'm really liking this game so far but I have three questions.

    1) Does anybody know where Javy Lopez is on the default rosters in this game?

    2) Umpire Cons. Check Swings........Whats the difference between on and off?

    3) Does API change the way the CPU pitches against you?

    Thanks

Can anyone confirm a couple things for me? I previously asked about the time of games, last year almost every game in franchise was played at night, besides a few here and there and on Sunday. Someone already mentioned the problem still might exist on the PS2, can anyone look in franchise to see if the over whelming majority of games are at night?

The other, is stamina problem from last year still present in the PS2 version? Players losing half their energy after one day, apparently it's an issue on the PS3.

I was wondering about the season mode on the ps2 version.

        Can you play multiple seasons?
        Is there a draft?
        Is there free agency?
Are we able do the contracts?

Basically I really like the franchise mode, but I hate worrying about the budgets and marketing.

        Any feedback would be great.

The franchise schedule is based on the team's real schedule. Most teams play mostly night games except for weekends and getaway days. If you want a lot of day games play as the Cubs.

Well, someone said it's based on their real schedule before, but there was an issue with the game recognizing 12 pm as 12 am or something to that sort. So, just wondering if that had any effect on it or not this year.

All games are a 1 pm or 7:30 pm, so if it is is a 12 o'clock start time it turns into a 7:30 pm game. If it starts at 1 something it's a day game. I only checked the cubs and reds first 1 and 12 o'clock games, so if any team has a game at a time besides 7, 1 or 12 o'clock game I don't know if it's a day or night game.

Okay, the 12 turning into a 7:30 is what I was inquiring about. Thank you.

loving it so far after playing a few games, and doing a lot of RTTS as a pitcher.
only thing that dissapointed me so far is that the game still doesn't call out created player names. wonder if the PS3 does it.
                  more hit variety and fouls.
the OF to cut off man thing is sorta weird.

Does MLB 08 have AAA, AA and single A teams for the PS2?

On the PS3, you have a choice to add an "Announcer Name" to any player. You choose from a large list of existing last names and nicknames.

I bought MLB 2K8 for the 360, and it's OK. Not great, not horrible, but OK.

Can anyone shed light on whether The Show PS2 is a better all-around game than 2K8 for 360?

I'm just looking for "decent" graphics, and solid gameplay. I rarely play anything other than Exhibition and HR Derby.

                              Any help would be appreciated...

                                the gameplay is excellent.

I am dissapointed with the graphics. They game no longer shows, 3-D type scenes of the stadium. I miss the scenes of when the camera would focus solely on the ball, on certain HR's and foul balls. It led to an immersion, factor. The game now feels like 2-D, IMO.

i may go back, to either the 07 or 06, edition.
