I had it in my hand a couple of days ago but they wouldnt sell it. I cant beleive Houston has not found 1 copy. The 4th largest city in the US.

for you guys that are finding in the case but then getting turned down at the register, are you causing a big stink? Because if it were me, I would be. Case in point.

This past fall I found SVR '09 early at a local store and asked the guy if I could get it. He got it out of the case and then went to the register and gave me the spill about can't sell it due to street date. I asked him why it was in the case then, and he says someone made a mistake. I asked to speak to the manager.

He came over, gave the same song and dance, and I calmly explained to him how its not my fault that they had the game in the case. I told him that I'd appreciate if he let me buy it and if not, then I'd have to consider reporting them to the BBB for having items out for sale and then refusing to sale. I walked out with the game.

Give it try.

Maybe so, but think about this.

Sure we, hardcore baseball nuts, know this game isn't supposed to be sold until Tuesday. But what about John Q Public with his son John Q Public Jr, who just happen to stumble across the game? They aren't going to know that its not supposed to be there. All they are going to see is the game out on the shelf with other games you can buy and then get all excited for the game only to find out they can't due to someone's mistake on the retailer's part.

Bottom line, if they don't want to sell it, don't have it in the case.

Can someone please tell my teachers to stop scheduling tests/quizzes/essays to be due/taken on wednesday

Insted of playing mlb 09, I have to do a boatload of school work on tuesday.

I hope they let me turn everything in late as I might miss school with the show fever just like i am sick on cubs opening day

well went to meijers earlier to see if they had it , had 2 copies i didnt bring my wallet tho so i couldnt get it , wernt back later on they had one copy left i got had the dude bring it to the desk , i was scared it was gunna say dont sell , but rang it up now i got also i have school tomm. but im not going on a count i have strep throat , and MLB 09 THE SHOW

There are NO copies left. I called literally 5 mins away and the dude said he can't sell it to me because he's holding it for someone else. Whichever of you guys gets that copy you OWE that dude some change.

I drive 45 mins to the store, walk in, and go up to the desk. I tell them I'm the guy that called in about the MLB game and I was there to pick it up. Two women, both acting like total b*tches, start lecturing me on how the game comes out on Tuesday and how they can't sell it to anyone until then. I proceed to tell them that they already have, because they only have one copy left.

She, being the manager I'm assuming (she had a blue vest on), informs me that the guy that took my phone call didn't work in that department and he had made a mistake, and there was no way she could sell me the game because it would be illegal.

At this point I was pissed and told her she had already broken the law by selling it to other people. She didn't seem to care.

So, I basically thank her for wasting 1 and a half hours of my life and walk out.

Terrible.

I can't believe they did that to you. How could they sell almost all of them then pull that one on you. I dealt with Allen he was the one that held it for me. The funny thing is I was standing at the desk when you called. He told you it was the last one. When I was by the cabinet there were 2 left. Was he keeping one for himself? Who knows what the whole story was. I would have said that you were going to report them to BBB for putting the item on the shelf and not selling it.

Nate- you just got lucky at your local big blue Best place to buy things. I went over to my local store to buy an extra dual shock 3 and got the street date talk. I can't believe how nearly all of the Chicago area is totally locked down! Can't wait till Tuesday.

I just called back and got the managers name. She was extremely rude, funny thing is, when I called back I got Allen on the phone (even though he supposedly doesn't work in Electronics).
