The big game stores seem to have run out the mom and pops in the Chicago area. I remember getting it almost a week in advance one year at a mom and pop(became a Gamestop) in the south suburbs. I stopped at a Gamestop today looking for something else and asked about The Show. Clerk looks it up and says he can't find such a title in the system. Are you kidding me? I pre-ordered it there. From what I'm seeing on these boards, I thought the morons ran Crook County not our electronic departments and stores.

Im tempted to report all the Meijers who sold the game then didnt sell as people were driving to buy it only to be refused by kids or fat women,Oh forgot the P.C thing big boned gals.
Aurora Meijers should owe $150,000 in fines Rolling Ghettos also and maybe this would stop this BS street date crap .

I'm with you.....I'm going to say right now, next year Meijer will be on early release lockdown. I'm pretty certain Wal Mart got bitch slapped hard last year for breaking the street date, hence the total and complete lockdown this year. I would be shocked if Meijer doesn't follow suit.....

The downside of all this is, once they go into lockdown, were beyond screwed in the Chicago burbs area..there is nothing left in the mom n pop ranks here, all the other big box retailers are on lockdown on this title...looks like release date city for us from here on out.

I don't think that anyone actually ever gets fined. At least I've never found any evidence that a company has been fined besides someones "my friend works at game stop and they got fined..."

You would think if say Sony, Microsoft or EA levied multiple $150k fines against say Target that would be in the news. I'd be interested if anyone has actually ever seen a reported story on this.

To me this fine stuff is like a great white whale, and if you don't know what the reference is too you're spending far too much time gaming.

HEY EVERYONE!

I just thought i would let you all know that i have a friend that works at the GAME store thats worth making a STOP at, and he said that if you go to the midnight release of HALO WARS they still have to technically sell u MLB cuz its 3/3, which is exactly what im doing. Just thought id share!

You know if SCEA or other game companies just offered a say pre street date release and charged a $79.99 premium they would make money and we would save TIME , GAS , Frustration .

Nevemind. I went there, stood around for 10 minutes for someone from electronics to help me. Some lady comes in, I say "Hey I am looking for MLB 09 the show, it is not in the display, but the lady I called said you had it for sale". She replies "No, it comes out Tuesday.". I said "But the lady said she had it here". "No, you talked to me. Comes out Tuesday".

All this was in a snobby, bitchy voice. And the lady I talked to sounded like an old white lady, this lady in the store was ghetto and sounded nothing like her.

I'm sorry I was at work and wasn't able to stop you..when you call and get customer service it goes to some location that takes all of meijers calls. You ask them if they have this game, they ALL have them IN stock..so they'll all say they have them. What you really have to do is say ok, I'd like to speak to electronics to confirm its the right game, and then they'll call that Meijer and ask you from there. I got excited a few times by this..but to no avail..

well went to meijers earlier to see if they had it , had 2 copies i didnt bring my wallet tho so i couldnt get it , wernt back later on they had one copy left i got had the dude bring it to the desk , i was scared it was gunna say dont sell , but rang it up now i got also i have school tomm. but im not going on a count i have strep throat , and MLB 09 THE SHOW

Congrats shorty, had the same feeling when I went there of 'Please let them sell me this game.' Awesome feeling scoring it early! Game is well worth it.

Yea i do have it pre-ordered, i was just hoping that i wouldnt have to use it lol. Sorry everyone i forgot to mention that part in my early post. My apologies. So i will be sitting there, a lone hardcore baseball fan, in the midst of a Halo cult, this should be ffuuuuunnnn. Cuz they arent doing an official MLB release, just Halo.
