Three year average with weights on some stats.

Either way, it's calculated the same way for everyone, so it's fair.

There can NEVER, EVER be a true listing of players, in a numerical order, that everyone will agree on. EVER. NEVER. EVER.

I agree on true listings never being right, but even on a three year split for Hunter's defense, he's nothing more than an average centerfielder (and some metrics say WELL below) since 2006.

Again, it isn't the end of the world to me, but it'll result in some guys being better fielders than they should be depending on what numbers they've used. I suppose one aspect I'm overlooking is the importance that the lower speed would play into Hunter's defense.

Just curious as to what fielding statistics they used -- as well as how they determined arm ratings. Not sure why Hunter would be rated that well there either.

The reason Ellsbury is rated highly is because he is a Red Sox, not because he is actually the 6th best CF in baseball. The reason Hamilton isn't ahead of him is because he plays for the Rangers. The reason McLouth isn't on the list is because he plays for the Pirates.
The reason Taveras is on the list is anybody's guess, that's just crazy. I would expect to see his name on the bottom 10 list. He's a replacement level player, so if he's in the top 10 in the league then the rest of the league must have below replacement level CFs, uh oh.

Victorino is overrated because of the exposure he got during the playoffs and world series.

Oh yeah....post season exposure....have a good playoff or series...it definately carries over to the next season.....don't get me wrong, Victorino can play....but he is rated a bit high IMO.

It looks to me like the defensive ratings have a TON to do with the overall bar, which is why Victorino is so high. His hitting numbers aren't all that great, but his defensive numbers are terrific (as they should be).

I don't really care the order that guys are rated, as long as that isn't the main thing that the AI considers when trading players. I hate when I can trade a great defensive player who can't hit, for a great hitter who can't play defense, just because their overall bar is about equal.

Any chance we can see pitchers next? I know you're going in order across the outfield, but I really wanna check out the pitcher rating categories that will be in there this year.

I think the uniform a player wears has a lot to do with it as well.
