As Sky says, happens both ways, ive struck the CPU out looking on a ball clearly outside of the zone.

I do like the variable strike zones myself. I think I've seen at least 3 different umpired crews if not 4. How many crews do they have?

        4 crews, 16 different umpires.

        It's brilliant, no?

Could you imagine us ever talking about real umpires with different personalities just a few years ago?

I'm curious about this as well. They say "16 different umpires" but is that 16 different umpires that can call balls and strikes or just 4 different crews totaling 16 umpires?

I don't think I can recall seeing anyone behind the plate that was once at the bases.

            16 personalities...not umps

I have had a third base coach in a previous game, behind the plate in the next. So, I'm think that each one of those umps can call balls and strikes.

                  Don't you lie to me!

Nah, seriously, that's great news. I should pay closer attention. Last night I had a really cool umpire. The man had an extremely fair zone for both sides. It made K's almost impossible.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the umpires rotate, as well.

Can't play since I'm at work posting away on the internet.

I don't know if I'll get to play tonight either. After three straight nights of playing, the wife wants to watch a movie with me tonight. The nerve!

I could swear that I have played games and looked for Woody Keller (theres been so much buzz about him) to be on a crew and he wasn't there. Doesn't that mean there has to be more than 4 umpires?

Well, as the old adage goes:

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you.

They pulled a double steal on me last night (runners on the corners) and I was cautious enough to get the out at the plate. I have the replay saved and want to upload it later. Anyway, stupid me was too focused on Ikamura on first base, doing pitchouts and pickoffs and what not... when all of the sudden they finally decide to steal him. I thought they were only stealing second base, so I threw it there, but their damn runner on third took home with ease. The replay looked embarrassing as I was throwing it with a glimpse of the runner coming right in.

But hey, the fact that they double steal is just another little thing!

Thats funny, he has killed me behind the plate too because thats the toughest pitch for me to hit.

Funny, I've seen him on the bases 2 or 3 times but behind the plate just once.

                              I gotta pay closer attention

I simply can't believe that a game this good exists, and proves that if companies take their time, fine tune things to what great gameplay is and should be...all games could be this good. Or the simple fact of the matter, the guys at SCEA are just better than the rest.

The variety and ability for each and every game you play to be complete different than the last is what is most amazing to me right now. Played two games last night.

Game 1. Rangers (me) vs Tribe - Millwood vs. Lee. I started off pretty good with Millwood being tied up at 1-1 in the top of the 4th against Lee, and then the Tribe went bonkers. They just smashed me and the horridness that is the Rangers Bullpen. Sizemore torched me for the Cycle. I lost 18 - 3 and guess what...it was all deserved cause I was that bad, and did not feel cheated in the least bit. I don't think I ever got trounced as bad as this and was ok with it.

Game 2. Pirates (me) vs Cards - Snell vs Weinright (sorry if that is spelled wrong)... a very intense pitchers duel that Snell just dominated with 7 innings of work with 8k's. Weinright went 7 as well, but I was able to get a double with Mclouth to score a run and Doumit hit a Solo and a single for a run. Pulos had a 2 run dinger and was the last at bat as well. I can't think I have ever had as an intense final at bat in all my games of baseball video gamin. He popped to RF after a 9 pitch at bat against Capps.

How did the guys at SCEA do this amazing thing with this game!!!! Thank you!
I drink to make other people interesting.
