I got picked by the Dodgers in the Rule 5 draft. Sucks for me; now they've got to keep me at the MLB level all year, which means I'll be lucky to see the field more than once or twice a week (and even then it'll be as a PH/defensive replacement).

Re: Trey Storey update:
Also, here's a question that may help all of us.
1. On average how many points do you gain for each game you play?
2. How have you found to be the most effective way to distribute the points to gain ability the quickest?
3. On average, how much does your overall rating increase each season?
================================================== ===========
1. When I'm able to start I pull in about 200 pts each game +/-. On my complete game shutout I got around 510 points total in one game, but that is not typical by any means. There are times I may get only 150, but other times I get 250. The hard part comes to effectively distributing these points.
2. At first I thought that spending 50 pts at once would give you more experience that if you only spent the minimum 40. I think I was wrong. So I only spend in increments of 40 and no more. I may need to spend more than 40 on a given trait, but I only do it in increments of 40. This way I don't waist any points. If I'm left with 60 points total I will still only spend the 40 and save the 20 for later except at the end of the season. This is because at the beginning of a season or whenever getting called up all your traits stabilize upon that date and will not decrease until "over 30 days" from that start date.
I've also found that I may not always complete all my goals, sometimes none of them but I don't let this happen too often. I try to spread my points so that my main attributes (pitches, pitching states, stamina) never get to the decreasing stages. I will let other attributes like (fielding, arm accuracy, arm strenght, bunting) decrease a bit before I add any training to them. Because of this I may not always reach my goals but I get darn close and my other attributes are always increasing as well.
3. For overall rating increase I've only played two season and have an average of about +5. My first year was +4 and my second was +6. I'm unsure if this is normal, below normal, or above normal. But it does seem like my rating stays stuck compared to others though. I've just recently gotten to 14/16 for organization ranking where before I was stuck at 16/16 or 15/15 and never moving an inch.PSN: guitarchitect7

Re: Trey Storey update:
Here are my final stats for my first year of AA ball. I was injured for two months of the season with a broken arm, but I was eventually able to make it back and take the starting 2B spot when the everyday guy got hurt. When he got well, I was doing so well they made him ride the bench
As you can see, I had no power my first year, but I hit pretty well. I ended the season on a 22-game hit streak which raised my average around 50 points. I batting between .240 and .265 most of the season until I caught fire at the end.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
In my 2nd season I was named to the 40 man roster at the beginning of spring (Mariners organization). At the conclusion of my AAA season I was called up to the big club to help finish out an atrocious season in Seattle.
I sit for about a week before getting a game in. My first big league experience comes against the LAA Angels and Ervin Santana, who goes the distance for the CG shutout. Needless to say I went 0-4.
A painful introduction to the majors but a very rewarding experience after working through to that point.
Not as painful as what was about to happen though....
So I get back to the schedule and click to sim to my next experience...the screen goes black and my PS3 restarts itself.
????
I try again and again and again...even delete the d/l and reinstall, no luck.
So now I'm stuck with an unusable RTTS career that was finally getting interesting.
It took so much time and batting practice to get to that point, I'm so pissed and unmotivated to start a new one, yet I know I will eventually.
Does anyone know what the problem is and if it's repairable? Has anyone had this issue?
I figured I would link this post here... anyone else face these problems?Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Quick question. Is there a way to change RTTS baserunning back to the way it was last year? I can't count how many times I've been thrown out trying to reach 2nd only to overrun the base then flail the sticks around aimlessly trying to get him back.Comment

Nope, you just gotta get used to the new controls.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Not really, you just gotta get used to it. If you are planning on rounding a bag going non-stop to the next base, be sure not to let off the control stick because if you do, you'll have to press the direction relative to the camera to start again and it might be different from the direction you were just holding. Also if you let go a little before you get to a bag your player will go the rest of the way to the bag, just don't stop too early. I have the problem of overrunning the bases sometimes too. My biggest problem is when I'm on first and the next batter hits a ball to the outfield that is fielded pretty quick. I that camera angle is hard for me to figure out which way to press and it has gotten me thrown out at second a few times. I've played one full season of RTTS now and it is getting better.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Started one as a closer. Was 8/10 in save opportunities in spring training. 9 IP, 10 hits, 6 runs, 1 walk, 5 Ks. Really had one rough outing that made my stats look worse than they would have been otherwise. This was with the Brewers.
Starting the season off as a setup man in AA.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
As a SP is it pre-determined that u will start off in AA as a MRP? I have played and simmed the first spring training mutliple times, both dominating and getting rocked. Same thing every time, always start my career in AA as a MRP.....Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
not happy... after finally hitting my first homerun almost 3/4 the way through the year, i go to make a movie of it, and the game f's up. it gives me some error making the movie and now i can't get out of the ******* replay of the homer to go back to the game. so i have no choice but to turn it off and lose it.
... oh and baserunning sucks balls. last years was 1000x betterComment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I was drafted by the padres and struggled in spring training. I did not hit a home run and my average was in the low .200's.
Now I am in double A and just won the starting 3B position after a great first month. I am halfway through month 2 and hitting .360 with 1 HR and 16 RBI in 89 AB. I am a 6'3'' 214lb third baseman. I am making $33,000 for one year with the padres.
