Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

Just started with mine. I'm a C with the Orioles, had a horrible ST, so of course I got my start at AA which was cool with me. Started off the season with a .361 AVG in the first week and a half but got sent to AAA due to an injury. At first I thought it was cool, but I quickly realized that I'm in over my head. Played just a few games but I'm batting .000 right now and I strike out every other at-bat (doesn't help that I swing at EVERYTHING coming).

Even though I'm struggling (can't believe I want to go back to AA) it's fun as hell and I'm thinking of starting another one, this time being a SP. And hopefully they fix the Sept 13th bug by the time I get to the majors.

I just finished my first season with my 3B in the Padres organization. After a slow start playing with AA San Antonio, I recovered to hit .313 with 8 HR and 82 RBI as the starter. Most importantly was that we made the playoffs and won the Texas League championship, giving me many games to earn training points without stupid advancement goals. After the season, I was signed to a 1 year, AAA starter contract and have started thru the first couple of series on fire. This team seems to suck though, so probably no playoffs this year. Guess I can hope for the September call-up, and put the hex on the September crash!

I made the playoffs in my first year. Ended up winning the championship in the Southern League, but we got a bye in the first round. This year I'm hoping for no bye to be truthful, because you're right, those training points are very valuable - especially since you their values are increased.

Your first spring training doesn't mean anything. No matter what, you'll be starting the season in AA...

You can't make 40 man team out of ST. I was in AA for 2 yrs, 3rd year im in AAA Isotopes for the Dodgers, and I got called up for 3 games, hit 1 hr, 3 rbi's, and they sent me down, but im still on the 40 man roster. My contract went to the major league min salary of 390K!!!

You also have to factor in the position of your RTTS player and what the depth of that specific position is displaying on the current team you're playing for... this will explain to some of you why your player is being delayed from the call up to the Bigs. If your team is STACKED in your primary position, just suggest a trade if it comes down to it.

Very very true....the dodgers only have 4 2b in the entire organization, so when Rafael Furcal went on DL, i got my call up to fill in for the 2b who covered for SS....but when furcal came back, i went back down, hopefull i can get traded to an American League team, keep asking for a trade and get NO NO NO NO

it restarts your ps3 once you get it, and that particular rtts file is doomed to never work again.

Brock Snider is on fire. Still playing for AAA Portland but just after the all star break got the starting LF job. Crushing the ball right now, with a .320 average, 6 HR's, 13 2b's and 44 RBI. Hitting .410, with 3 HR's and 13 RBI over my last 10 games.

Here's a pic of Snider hitting a grand slam for the Beavers.

So I am taking a break from my SS. The putridness that is the Orioles organization is pretty frustrating - and they seem to not want me lol. I went through a spring training where I barely played and then went from a .293 hitter in the majors who was leading the league in hitting from April to the end of June to the starter out of spring training ON THE DOUBLE A TEAM.

I mean seriously? I'm ranked 1 of 4 SS in the organization and they're sending me to AA?

So I needed a break and created a closer - got drafted in the 3rd round by the Brewers and was lights out in spring - saving 10 games, getting one win and having an ERA of 0.00.

By mid-April I was the closer and by the time is stopped playing it was mid-May, I had 7 saves and an era of 0.60.
If you can read this, you don't need glasses.

I am in year 2016 now. I am still with the Red Sox after getting traded around the whole league for the first couple years. I won a ring with the Sox in 2015 and we just won our division. Unfortunately around July, I seperated my shoulder and was on the 60 day DL until late september. When I came back, I was not the starter so I talked to the manager and he put me right back to the starting role. We beat the Angels in 5 and are now facing the Yankees in the ALCS. They won game 1.

I ended up hitting .364 for the season with 21 Homers, 77 RBI, and a .983 OPS. I led the leage in hitting although I did not have enough at bats to qualify. I also had 40 SB's.
I can't wait till this season is over because it is my contract year and I also want to get a full year without injury to see how many Homers and SB's I can get.

I got into my contract year in 2012 and have been in the 40 man roster, called up 2 times...and they only team offering me a contract is major league affiliate of the team that signed me...WTF? and whats up with me having the best stats in the organization and being ranked 3/4 and being in AAA? wouldn't i still be designated for AA?

I'm a starter for the nationals (Ace of the staff) and they had me pitch 60 innings in spring training, mostly as a reliever. I pitched almost every preseason game for a couple innings.
