Started year 3(of 4) with the Twins with my 1B(starting, Morneau moved to DH), hit a GS vs. the Indians(Right Center) and hit the GW 2-run HR(in the bullpen area) in the same game on the road.

Guys, I've hit rock bottom. After a great spring i which I hit .370/10 HR/29RBI and an opening month of April in which I hit .280/ 5 HR /15 RBI I have seen myself slowly banished to AA ball. IT all started when I couldn't get 21 RBI in a 3 week period. Then my bat cooled and I lost my starting gig and became a utility role player. WEll after going like 3 for 30 my team sent me to AAA. After two at bats there I was delegated to AA ball. I have watched my attributes take a nose dive and I am in the slump of slumps. They will not trade me so I am stuck in the dumps, but I am making some good change. I just can't hit the ball to save my life now. Hopefully I can rebound and at least become a AA stud again.
I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I tore it up last night. I played either 9 or 10 games, hit 8 doubles, 1 HR. I had a 4-4 game with 4 RBI, a 4-6 game, and a 5-6 game. I am currently at 54 or 55 game hit streak.

It was funny, I just got to the 50 game hit streak, the next game the coach puts me in the pitch hit. Talk about pressure. So I rip a double. 2 games later, he does it again. This time I get a single. Hopefully tonight I will break the streak tonight and cash in all those training points.

I will try to get a picture of my guy up tonight. Hopefully it will be sweet like MJH91, that picture just has some awesome quality. But what is up with the blue mitt?

@bkrich83 - Nice to see a fellow Beaver in the thread. I am trying desperately to get out of the organization, but I asked for a trade, and they told me NO WAY.

I'm here watching the Yankees play the Orioles and Burnett just got a guy to 0-2. Then he throws two strikes and the ump is just sitting there with his hands in his pockets and I couldn't help but think about my RTTS guy and how the umps do the same thing to me. lol.

All of a sudden the ref is just pinching the zone.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I'm going back and forth with my SP and my C.

With my SP (Reds) I just completed my first year in AA, while I put up some decent numbers, I didn't get into the starting rotation until the end of the year. So imagine my surprise that not only did I get called up to AAA, but I'm the number three starter on the team. My first game I got gave up three homeruns in one inning (I gave up only two all of last year) but had some offenisve support and still came away with the victory. But it thought me real quick that I wasn't in AA anymore.

In my C (Orioles) career, I got promoted to AAA after just a week or two in AA when one of the catchers got injured. My first month was rough just batting above .100, but recently I've gotten in a grove and now my average is .278 and it's getting fun again.

I'm getting sick of getting picked off at first because my guy decides he wants to take his free time heading back to the base sometimes, and he won't dive in even if I tell him to.

Point of that rant is this: Does one of the skills help in reducing that? Is that supposed to be the computers way of showing you aren't a good baserunner? And if so, is it ability or aggressiveness that improves that aspect?

                    Thanks for any help.

EDIT: Oh yea, and I made the opening-day roster in my third season

                      Wow, been awhile...

So got to experience the RTTS bug and my career with my power hitting LF has come to and end. Sad...

But good news lies ahead, I've started another one. This time I decided to go back to pitching. And I'm added a twist this time...I'm making it into a short story. Maybe I should blog this?

First question though...how do get the pics of the games and post them on this board? MY PS3 is hooked up wirelessly to my router, could I network them and put on my main PC?

                      Anyway, here it goes.

Chuck Norris MLB Career...I'll think of something better later.

Chuck Norris (my pitchers name) has grown up a long time Cub's fan. Hailing from the midwest, he's watched every game he could as a kid and always envisioned himself as one of the greats wearing a proud C on his sleeve. Chuck was a late bloomer, one of those children who got held back in school due to his age. Instead of graduationing at the age of 18 like everyone else, Chuck walked out at 19 and ready to tackle the world. He's been extended offers from proud baseball colleges accross the nation, but school never was his thing. Although he knew the benefits it would bring in the probable future ahead he wasn't sure if it was the right thing for him. He managed to get in contact with some local scouts who've began to show some small interest in Chuck's abilities. Although raw in nature, there was a promise in him that shown brighter than many athletes that passed through ranks. The advice was simple...succeed at everything you do. Something even his parents told him since a very young age. The question still remained though, how to do it?

Well it didn't take Chuck long to figure it out. Countless night prior this very moment Chuck laid in bed thinking of this very situation. Dreams upon dreams, and game after game, Chuck reinacted this very situation in his head. So that evening he went downstairs to tell his parents he's come to a decision. Although tough as it was to now know what his task laid ahead, and not a very easy one at that, he knew it was the right thing to do and that his parents would support him regardless.
"Mom, Dad, I've made up my mind", he said in a very confident voice. "As much as college would be a benefit for my future, I've decided to go ahead and try and enter the draft early."
His parents were shocked, not something they ever would have expected.
                      "Really?", they asked.
"Yes, I want to begin doing what I love doing the most. Every day, for every waking moment, for the rest of my life," he replied.

So on that day, Chuck now knew what he was going to do. Something that was a change of pace from he past 19 years. No more did he question his purpose, no more did he doubt his abilities. At this moment Chuck had the up most confidence in himself and what lied ahead.

Chapter 2...The Draft...continued on next post.

Last night I broke the hit streak record, it was in the paper, and the next day I was in the paper again for 58. But I never got any points, so ...

Did I not get points because I am in AAA?
Or do I not get points until the streak ends?

It's an MLB record, not AAA.

Do it in the majors to get your points.

I finally made the majors with my player! After 3 years in the minors, I signed a 2 year major league deal (with the Padres..ugh). I got sent to spring training and made the team as the starting SS.

I've attached some pictures from my MLB debut - opening day in L.A., 2012 (and what a game it was)

My player smoking a double in his first at bat.

and....admiring his first major league home run!

On a somewhat interesting note, the Padres wore 5 different uniforms in the first 5 games - including these ridiculously ugly ones (what's up with these anyway??)

Brock Snider finished the 2010 season in Portland. Was a little disappointed with no September call up.

Finished the season with the following numbers in AAA

                              .313, 19 2b, 1 3b, 9 HR, 58 RBI in 406 ab's.

                              .431 SLG%, .329 OBP, and a .760 OPS.

Was added to the 40 man roster the following offseaon and invited to spring training. Padres are pretty bad so we'll so how ST goes.

Pic of Snider playing in a ST game.

I have seemingly lost control of my fastball. I mean I haven't had control of it for the past 4 games and its my best pitch. It's not the control which is at 86. No matter where I hit on the meter, the thing ends up in the middle of the plate. If I wasn't in AAA and the pitch didn't top out at 99, I think I'd be giving up homeruns left and right.

Does anyone have this problem? I don't understand why I can't keep my fastball away from the middle of the plate in each game when I have 86 control.
