Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

Sorry if soneone has posted this in here but has anyone found out what's going on with the glitch where you go into batting cage training and your guy won't ever come to the plate? I had no problems for the first 2 months of my RTTS and then all of a sudden it's happened on my last 3 training sessions. The only thing I can do is either exit out there or go back to XMB and then sim the training session. Just baffles me as to why it all of a sudden started doing it.

They finally made the call! Yes!
John Kurecki is now a backup first baseman for the L.A. Angels! All of those stupid goals finally paid off, all my hard work has been rewarded, and I feel good about it.

Brock Snider made the big club (Padres) out of spring training in 2011. Was used mostly as a pinch hitter early in the season. He then broke his shin and missed 2 months of action.

Finished 2011 with just 98 at bats. Hit .265 with 3 HR's and 19 RBI. Snider contract was up. The Padres renewed his contract for 1 year at $390,000.

Started the 2012 team back with AAA Portland, but late in April Padres LF Chase Headley suffered a hamstring injury and Snider was called up and inserted in to the Padres every day lineup.

In 33 games and 74 at bats in 2012 Snider is hitting .297 with 5 hr's and 19 RBI.

Here's a pic of Snider looking pissed after Houston's Chris Samspon plunked him. Snider had homered in his previous at bat.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

After making the bigs on my first baseman I have decided to do a pitcher. I will also document him here.

            Name: Rickey Battle
            Number: 11
            Primary Position: Starting Pitcher
            Throwing hand: Left
            Batting hand: Left
            Height: 6'1"
            Weight: 187 lbs.
            Pitching Style: Derek Lowe
            Pitch 1: Running Fastball
            Pitch 2: Circle-Change
            Pitch 3: Curveball

            Better late than never right?
And the Detroit Tigers selected me in the draft. Time to get to work!

Ok, i'm really starting to lose it here. I'm in my second year in the bigs with the A's and they suck. The offense is horrible, i've taken the loss twice now with only giving up 1 run in 7 innings. It's nuts, i am 2-4 but should have at least 6 wins. I figured that being damn near last in ever year since i was drafted that they would have some good young players coming up but no. I continue to rot in this horrible organization. Just for fun once i asked for a trade and was sent to the Orioles, that is the last place i want to go, i don't wish to face the yankees, rays, and red soxs 3 times a year, it's tough enough as it is, needless to say i didn't save that trade. Ohh well, i will continue to play for the A's, hopefully i will get traded to a contender or something

wow, everything is going great for me, in my rookie season started in aa, got called up to aaa from injuries and got the starting position, then the twins traded away their starting 2nd baseman and i got called up. the weirdest part is that im not that good at all!

has this happened to anyone else?

Nice one!! Walk off home runs are the greatest feeling in this game! I've had one in the majors, which is a great feeling for my 40 power SS.

I had one in AA in my 1st season too - we were down by 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning in the last game of the first playoff series and I hit a 3 run walkoff homerun. I literally jumped off of the couch..haha

Sorry for the double post....but, SCEA really needs to fix some of the logic for this mode.

Before you label me as a whiner, if you guys have read my past posts, you know I love this mode. It's essentially the only mode I've played since I've bought the game.

I'm in my 5th season, and the 2nd season in MLB and it's about 2 weeks before the allstar break. I'm 8th in the NL in batting average, and I'm the 8th ranked player in terms of ratings on my team (Number 1 shortstop, number 20 in MLB). A couple of guys come off the DL (a 2b and RP) and who do they send down to the minors...me!

I'm in the top 3 in every statistic on my team at the time. Of course, I'm right at the start of an advancement period and I have to wait the full length of the advancement to get called back up - no interaction options were available to me, and they won't trade me. I ended up playing 13 games in AAA.

This is kind of ridiculous IMO, especially in the sense that both my stats and ratings are very high for my team. If a SS that was rated higher than me came off the DL, I could understand getting sent back down, but considering they were guys in completely different positions and I'm the number 1 rated guy in my position in the organization, I am really annoyed with this.

Anyway, that's the end of my rant.

Lol, back when I still played this game on PSP (07 maybe?) I was sent down to the minors while batting .450 lol. It was great. Then I lost my PSP...
