Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
here are the teams I was with
Giants (Half of my first year in AA), Traded to Redsox (Second half of my first year), got claimed off of outwright waivers to the orioles in 2011 ST after playing another season with the bosox's AAA team. Now I'm tearing it up hitting over .400 with 7hr, 49 or 50 rbis, and 6 sbs and I'm playing as a catcherComment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Hi, first post here.
I started a SP and entered the draft. I was picked up by the astros, had a 5.4 era during first spring training at age 18 which I figure isn't too bad for the first time. Sent do AA Corpus Christi and originally started off as a reliever and worked my way into the starting rotation where I finished up the season with a 2.79 ERA, I was called up to the Astros after the 40 man roster expansion and pitched 7 innings for a 3.86 era. When I was called up I also started receiving the mlb minimum for 3 years. Immediately following the season I was placed on waivers (why would they place me on waivers?) and claimed by the Dodgers. The following spring I'm not sure what ERA I had but I was sent to AA Chattanooga where I posted a 0.96 era in 3 starts with 1 complete game shutout. After those 3 starts I was quickly called up to AAA Albuquerque where I was immediately put into a starting spot and I posted a 2.47 ERA. When the 40 man rosters expanded again I was placed into the starting rotation for the dodgers and had 3 starts (including a 12 hit complete game shutout LOL) for a 1.02 ERA. The following season I was named the 5th starter, finished with the following: 15-5 record, .87 WHIP, 1.82 ERA. That was also the last year on my contract. Toward the end of the season I was considered the 10th best pitcher in the league and the Dodgers offered me a salary according to my performance. The initial offer was 7 years/86mil. I renegotiated for 3 years/36.7 mil. I am currently playing the next season where in 5 starts as the club ace I have a 1.22 ERA 3-1 record and 2 complete game shutouts with a WHIP right around .67.
To recap:
Age 18 - drafted by astros - played AA - called to major league team - started receiving MLB minimum salary for next 3 years
Age 19 - placed on waivers, claimed by dodgers - played AA - called to AAA - called to MLB as 5th starter
Age 20 - 5th starter for LA - 1.87 ERA, 15-5 record, .87 WHIP - signed 3 year contract for 36 million.
Age 21 - Club Ace - 6th Ranked pitcher in the league and scouting report says that I will be in cooperstown once I'm done dominating the show.
P.S. At 18 I made the AA all star team, at 19 I made the AAA all star team and at 20 I made the MLB all star team. Currently working on the next season but so far I'm the 2nd to top vote getter for starting pitchers on the all star ballot.Comment

Nice accomplishments so far....Just curious - what level are you playing on?Hi, first post here.

The CAP system is good and there are many different options when it comes to editing the face and head. so yes if you are good there are plenty of options to make yourself. During the game your player looks like they fit in well and the transitions is seamless.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Is there anywhere posted on the net an explanation of what the different things you can pump in training mode actually do. One of my advancement goals for my pitcher right now is "Increase Accuracy" but there is nothing in the training that says accuracy. Unless it means increase the control on all my pitches...does anyone know?Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Which year are we allowed to become unrestricted free agents? I just finished my 6th season, I was so happy that I was leaving my team, but then I was forced into Arbitration and signed another 1 yr deal.
I cant take another LOOONGG year with the Brewers!
-- Edit
Holy crap, I just realized it's 6 years of MLB service! That means i'll have to be with them at least 2 more years! NOOOOOOOOOOOO
This seriously sucks. And every time I ask for a trade, they say im an asset and hang in there. WTF!
