Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
SCEA is looking into I think, although they haven't said too much on the matter.
You could just delete the patch and keep going and hopefully they will come up with something. The patch doesn't really effect RTTS too much anyway.Comment

My most recent RTTS was restarting when I went to the schedule, but I went to one that I had that had the original glitch, and started playing that one, and suddenly that one is working again.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
So I started my second guy in the Show, and I am having a hard time. I thought pitching would be a lot easier than hitting. Because when I was hitting, I would always swing early. I couldnt get rbis good enough and I couldnt get HRs at all! Pitching is fun, but trying to figure out what I need being a Knuckle ball pitcher, it is hard to know what to go for... movement or should I go with control. What do you guys suggest to make my pitcher a strong but effective one?Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
One pitch away from a complete game shutout, ONE PITCH AWAY! Chump ump screwed me and that was it. One pitch was WELL in the strike zone and he calls a ball. I mean the WHOLE ball was in there except maybe a stitch and this guy calls it a ball. Threw off my whole rhythm and the next thing I know HOME RUN. At least the manager let me go 8 and a third. I'm not really mad at him for pulling me for the last out but I think I might need to say something to him anyway so that he doesn't pull me in other games to early.
I could have used those extra points to help develop my new 12-6. Yeah, thats right I picked up a 12-6 today. Now I got a good 4 pitches to work with. 4 finger fast ball, Change up, Slider and now the 12-6. I probably should have got a Cutter.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
I put two ideas from my last rant together and just had one of those eureka moments!
To make a long story short, my pitcher already has a fastball, curve, change-up, slider, and sinker. Figuring that the army of ****-throwing AA'ers is only a season or two away from joining the ranks of the competition, I recently added a knuckleball to my arsenal... and I have no ****ing intention of adding to its velocity. Ever.3.) Why does every ****ing pitcher have a knuckleball, or some variant (like the dreaded cutliderplitturvuckle ball)? These guys are usually rare, but it seems like I'm up against at least two of 'em in every series. Also, how many left-handed knucklers have their been in the last twenty years? I swear I've encountered at least ten of 'em in AA this season, some with side-arm deliveries.
My fastball can hit 101 MPH, while my knuckler scorches to the plate at 61 MPH. Everything else falls in between.
If I switched his throwing hand and made him a side-armer, the dude would be almost as assholish as the CPU generated fagbots that my RTTS hitter was forced to face in AA.Last edited by Pianoman; 04-28-2009, 08:16 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Well I'm moving on up the rotation. Season over and I'll be the number 3 starting pitcher. Hopefully I can get called up this new season. I led the AAA with a 1.13 or so whip. Not fantastic but pretty decent.
During the end of the season I was pitching lights out although I just couldn't get that complete game shutout. But I did win my last 5 games.Comment

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread
Started my 3rd season with my CF with an invitation to Spring training by the Brewers. Had an average spring training with nothing special to offer.
With my last at bat, BANG!! homerun! Pretty pleased about this, I was still surprised to see that I managed to be the pinch hitter for the Brewers when the MLB season started. Everything went pear shaped from there on, hitting .176, 4 RBI's in my 17 AB's in MLB. My manager pissed himself and immediately sent me down to AAA.
First game back in AAA, BANG! I hit the gamewinning HR in the 11th inning. After that, you guessed it, everything went pear shaped...don't know why, but always after I hit a homerun I go through a major slump. At this point in time I'm hitting .285, 4 RBI, 5 SB, 1 SB, 2 BB, 1 HR. I just can't seem to hit HR's consistently...sigh.
If I only could've gotten a dollar for everytime a managed to hit the ball far over the fence but just to the left side of the foul pole...I would've had 5 HR by now.San Francisco 49ers

I find that I hit homeruns in streaks and when I hit a couple, my batting average usually sucks. It's almost like I change my swing or get it into my head that I want to hit a homerun and that's when the BA starts dropping.Started my 3rd season with my CF with an invitation to Spring training by the Brewers. That was up to this season anyway where I'm 2 weeks before the all-star break and hitting .375 with 24 doubles, 4 triples, 11 HR and 64 RBI's. It's my 3rd season in the majors and it's definitly my breakout year. Somehow though, I'm still 2nd in all-star voting behind Reyes even though I am better than him in every category except SB.Comment
