I'm digging this up for a good reason, though I'm taking a crapshoot as to whether I'll get an answer here. I've had an original PSP for years, but now it's failing on me. But I plan on getting a PSP-3000 and a large memory card for downloadable games. So for anyone who's played The Show on a newer PSP from a memory card, how much better are the load times? That's been one of the few drawbacks to The Show on PSP (besides no franchise mode) is the loooooooong load times.

I know it looks amazing on the better screen on the PSP3000. I cant comment on the load times, because I don't think it can be installed (09') that is, like Gran Turismo can (I don't remember see an option). I know the load times are 3 times as fast with GT installed.
Now if we are talking about ripping it (then we cant discuss that here).
Or DL-ing the game off the Sony store, then I don't know. I always wondered that myself. If it was faster. I know GT was a HUGE difference, so I would like to assume the same.
Also, it would be nice if the PSP version of 10 has an install option like most new PSP games are going with. It makes the load times almost non existent.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Yeah, i'm talking about getting it off the PSN store, not ripping it. I'm not going to buy 09 off the store because I already have it, but I plan on buying 10 that way.
As far as the instalation, I wasn't even thinking that. I figured the load times would be better because they doubled the RAM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
I don't think the load times differ much. But you will be very happy with it on the 3000. It's rich and vibrant colors pop off that screen, it is noticeable compared to the 1000. Another note, not a big deal, but because of the PSP Go's smaller screen it looks even nice on that. But that's prbably not important to you, as far as load times are concerned, I would imagine a minimal upgrade.I'm digging this up for a good reason, though I'm taking a crapshoot as to whether I'll get an answer here. Yeah, if they have an install option like Gran Turismo and some other new games, then it would make a huge difference. I hope they do!Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Yeah, picked it up today and load times were pretty much the same, which makes me wonder what the heck is the point of the extra RAM, then. But hopefully, playing 10 off the memory card will make load times much better.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
Make sure in the options on the PSP, you have "UMD Cache" set to "ON" (that is what the more ram is for). It helps a small bit, some games more than others.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
No information yet for the 10' season. But you can look stuff up for 09' on the PSP to get an idea.
This is the best sports game on the PSP hands down. Plays phenomenal. Every bit as good as the PS2 version.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
I purchased the PSN version several months ago when it was released and I think the load times are easily cut in half. I am definitely buying 10 on PSN instead of the UMD. I just hope we get some updated cutscenes and animations for this year's game.Comment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
That is good news. I will be getting the PSN version as well then, if there is no optional install like Gran Turismo has.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: PSP Version Impressions
I'm in my second season and was wondering is there any way to turn the DH on if I'm a NL team (Mets)? I know there was an option at the very beginning of the season, but I was wondering if there is a way to turn it on now without starting over again. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I do not believe so. If there is not an option in the gameplay options, etc, then you probably can not.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
