Chalk me up as another to have a crash n' burn on my RTTS guy. September 18, 2011. In ML all season (year 3.) I'm bummed about it sure but I'm not mad. If it gets fixed it gets fixed, if not then not. If I have to start another RTTS then so be it. I wish I'd have known about this bug though before I ran right out and got a PS3 for the game though. Oh well live and learn

You've got great video game console, and there are other good games out there for it. It's just to bad that you and myself and everyone else on these forums got HIJACKED by the developer's.

I'm confident that the problem will be patched. This is actually my second RTTS guy. The first guy I made didn't have the problem and in is second major league season. I'm bummed that I have to start over, but I'll start over with different rosters and it'll give me the chance to change some things about my guy by recreating him that I didn't like before. For instance, I simmed his first AA season and I won't do that this time because I'm a points whore.

Im not an avid player of RTTS but I do like to pick it up from time to time and had just started a player before I read this thread. I actually even told myself that I was going to be really dedicated to this years RTTS mode to devolop a player and take full advantage of the mode. This is really unfortunate by I have faith that SCEA will resolve this issue seeing their commitment is so strong to the community and its players.

But what really worries me is that someone in this thread said it happens in Franchise mode too. If this is the case then this needs to be patched ASAP because that is the first thing I do every year is start up my Cubs franchise and I play every game so that would really be disheartening if it happened in Franchise mode.

You've got great video game console, and there are other good games out there for it. It's just to bad that you and myself and everyone else on these forums got HIJACKED by the developer's.

I'd also like to say for the record that I do not feel in any way that I was hijacked by anyone at anytime. I do not regret my decision one bit and know it'll get fixed. MLB 09: The Show continues to be the best baseball video game I've ever played and a ton of enjoyment every time I pick up the controller to play. I also love the PS3 and find it to be superior to the 360 so I'm happy with that as well.

I'm afraid to proceed with mine... I play a game here and a game there but I cringe every time I SIM to the next appearance.

Don´t want to take the wind out of anybody´s sails and I hope they find the bug that causes this crash...

BUT:

It is a really, really tough thing to find that small programing line that´s faulty in the game code. Especially when there´s numerous occasions when this bug is happening (year 2, year 3, getting called up, being called up all season long etc.)

I´m not a programer myself but I do work with some programers (not game programers) and we have a hard time finding bugs in our software, explaining under which circumstances they occur, and of course getting rid of them.

There´s just so many things that can take influence on that.

A bug that has hit my career is with batting practice. I don't show up. The pitcher stands there waiting, but no matter what button I push the batter is not there for practice. I have to exit out and sim past batting practice.

Your not the only one with that problem I've seen other post's about that. I don't have that problem.

Here's another RTTS crash. I've been searching the net looking for answers, and all I've found is "save a lot." That's not going to cut it. For my particular RTTS, I was a SS in the Oakland A's franchise. I'd been called up and sent down, and finally called up again during September. Right around September 12 or 13 of the 2011 season, it crashes. It just sends you back to the Playstation Menu. So that seems to be consistent with all of us. September call-ups happen, and it dies. I think that all of our Major League squads (whether we're already on them or are called up in September) seem to be pretty bad, so they make a lot of call-ups from the minor league, leaving AA and AAA rosters tapped out. This may be causing some sort of conflict or something. I'm not sure. All that I really do know is that this game is so much FUN without this error, but (since RTTS is the only mode I play) to me, it has been rendered completely UNPLAYABLE. I got this game 3 days ago and hadn't put it down until it crashed. Considering that MLB 2K9 is crap, and The Show is unplayable, there are NO playable baseball games on the market! I really hope this is fixed soon, because this game is otherwise stellar.

Very good post. I feel the same way except, I'll add that because of the base running controls I can't run the bases so I turned it off. Every aspect of RTTS is great but when you can't use all of the options and it crashes well it's just a waste.

Hey guys...

This happened to me last night and I found this site by "googling" any type of RTTS crash. I couldn't believe how many posts I've seen on this issue, and I've read all 21 pages of this post.

Mine happened in Sept of 2013, not sure of the exact date at this point, but I'll look into it and post later. I was the starting 2B in the Twins organization, but I did not start the season in the majors. I got called up just before the All Star Break in July, and was cruising towards the end of the year.

RTTS is the only reason I bought this game, so I had to post on the issue just in case there is something fixable about this.

September Glitch

I got the Glitch.After 3 days of solid playing. Like everyone else I am now frozen out of any further game play with this player. What I can't understand is I was playing real crappy as I just can't get the hitting down. I got mail from the manager stating I was being sent down to AA ball. I had been in the majors sent to AAA then back down further to AA ball.
Funny thing is on one day I was sent to AA and stunk there and was told I was to go to pro ball the next day after still playing crappy. I did notice alot of injuries on the pro team and I guess this is why I was called up. I played a few days (Game Days) then went to sim to the next time I was to play.
Now here I am September 12th 2011 and can't proceed past this point. Sim season, Sim to date or Sim to next appearance will shut down the entire game and bring me back to the main Sony screen completely kicking me out of MLB 09.
Cmon Sony you got my $60 let's get it together and get a fix going. If this was any other product on the market there would be a recall. Time to get your techies to work 24/7 and spend some serious time fixing this. It should have never been released in this condition. I would be putting some fire under the guy who checked the game and introduced it for sale to the public.

I'm in the year 2023, got called up as an 18 year old in Sept 09, I've made two all star games, won an MVP, made the playoffs, won two batting titles, two Hank Aarons, won a Gold Glove. Suck it. lol jk

I've had glitches from time to time, but none like this. For instance, once I had that batting practice error where my guy does not show up and I have to exit it. But that was only once. Otherwise, I'm doing fine and it's very unfortunate what happened to y'all.
