Tally another one up for having a broken RTTS. I started up a new one now. The key is to have multiple saves. One save is broken and the other simmed right over the day that wouldn't sim on the broken save. It's a little disappointing, but I'm sure they'll get it fixed.

This to me is very significant. If multiple saves is a remedy of sorts then RTTS is still playable.

I'm nearing mid september 2010 in my RTTS with no issues yet. I haven't simmed a single game so that might have something to do with it. I also don't count on SCEA fixing this when they probably can't replicate this issue.

Just an update since the original post and any I've added in between.

I did start up a 2nd RTTS player, but simmed all the way through the first year at AA. The 2nd year went fine at AAA and the 3rd year was successful off the bench. Around the all-star break I was granted a trade to Baltimore and finished out the year. I have since started the 4th year (back in AAA) and have had no crash issues.

It is refreshing that I haven't had a repeat performance of a dying career; however, i sorely miss my original player. I'm about 10 points behind in some major attribute categories because I was too frustrated to do all of the training and play the games the first year and much of the 2nd.

I am thankful that SCEA is aware of this issue and is going to address it with a patch. My only concern is whether the patch will allow us to continue our RTTS careers that have fallen victim to the crash-n-burn or if it only applies to new ones or those working correctly.

So when the game crashes it erases your save as well? And does this crash happen EVERY time?

So when the game crashes it erases your save as well? And does this crash happen EVERY time?

It doesn't "crash." It just gets stuck trying to sim over a game. You can back out of the screen and keep trying, but it won't sim over that particular date. Close it out and open the last save up again and it'll still get stuck. That's what's occurring here.

Why are some players multiple seasons in playing in the majors and not crashing?

I don't think everyone is experiencing this.

So 2 minutes ago, I'm the starting 2b for the twins, who just got called up from aaa for the first time. I have a 3 hit game, I'm playing incredible. So I load up my rtts, I see I have two copies of the same rtts. So once I get into my rtts, I delete both copies, as I realize after I play my game, it will autosave. So I click on play to next appearance, and my game crashes. I now have no rtts, all the hours of work put into my created stud, has been lost. All the stupid batting practice hours, and ratings I've worked on, lost. After this stupid crash. September 18th, go figure.

Exactly what I don't understand, why some people's game crashes and others don't.

The only issues that really bother me is the game crashing in Franchise and RTTS and the fact that some teams games are all at night or all day games. Other than that, I can live with all the other issues.

well, got called up to the majors on sept 4th 2010. Now at sept 20th and still no problem...

There has got to be a common denominator here. I am currently in year 2016 and have not had a problem. I have been called up in September earlier in my career and got through September fine. The last 3 seasons, I have been on in the Bigs with no problems. Something I do differently though than what you guys are saying is that I always sim through ST except for the batting practice. There is something all your RTTS's have in common. If you look at the other RTTS thread, there are plenty of people there with no problems.

This just happened to me last night I started my career with the Rockies and was traded to the Mariners my first season. I was in my second season got called up in Sept my first game I was used a pinch hitter. I then did the batting training and simmed to next apperance it hit Sept 14 and crashed. So now Im just going to have to delete that file and start over ..sux.

Man I feel for you. I started with the Rockies and what the minors call half way I got traded to the Twins am now in Aug. first season still waiting for the dreaded crash. If it crashes I'm going back to MLB 08.
