Lame, this just happened to me. September 13, 2011 is where my RTTS is stuck. I tried everything, and nothing seems to work. I tried saving another file, deleting the old one, copy the copy and nothing worked.

I really hope there is a patch for this because this took hours and hours of hard work to get my career this far and I am hesitant to start another one...

EDIT: I am the Ace SP for the Washington Nationals in the middle of a tight race for the NL East

I received this message from SONY Support in regards to my complaint about this issue.

Would anyone care to try these steps and see if it offers a resolution to the RTTS career crash programming bug?

Since I am deaf, I cannot hear the "beeps" in regards to enabling the PS3 Safe Mode ...

Just from reading the canned answer from Sony, I highly doubt that this will correct the problem, but this is their initial answer nonetheless.

We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced with MLB 09. You will want to follow the following sets To activate SAFE MODE:

Step 1:
Turn off PS3 by holding Power button till Power light is red.

Step 2:
Touch and hold the Power button, you will then hear the 1st beep indicating that the PS3 is powering on.
Continue to hold and after approximately 5 seconds you will hear a 2nd beep, indicating video reset.
Continue to hold and after about 5 more seconds you will hear 3rd beep, and system will power off (Power light goes red).
Release power button.

Step 3:
Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the 1st beep, again for PS3 power on.
Continue to hold and after approximately 5 seconds you will hear the 2nd beep for video reset.
Continue to hold and after 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep, at that point release power button and you will see an on-screen message instructing you to connect your controller to the PS3 with a USB cable, then press the PS button. Connect a USB cable to controller and PS3 and press PS button.

After a few seconds, you will see the Safe Mode screen with the 6 options.

Once the consumer has successfully activated safe mode, advise them to attempt using options 1 or 4.

Option 1 is the light restore process which will not result in the loss of the consumers data.

Option 4 WILL result in the loss of playlist and message data, but should not result in the loss of other data.

If neither of these options resolves the issue, advise them to attempt using option 3.

Before you use options 3, 4, or 5, Please be sure to back up all data on the HDD that you wish to save before you Rebuild your database. To back up your data, you will need to use a USB flash drive, a PSP with a memory stick, or some other mass storage device to transfer your data to.

Honestly, every year I've played RTTS (07, and 08 of course) something breaks on my game. I went through 3 copies of the above mentioned. On my last one I was lucky enough to only lose the commentary and have the music play 2 seconds before going back to the beginning and repeating itself. Now I am even scared to look at RTTS on 09.

Wow, I really hope we hear something from the SCEA team that visits this site on the regular. Just started my second season on RTTS, and I haven't experienced any problems yet, but I don't want to play again until we have heard something about what causes it or, if there is an upcoming patch to rectify the situation. If this becomes unplayable I will be so sad, because this game mode is a lot of fun.

I started one with a SP and was drafted by the Reds. I spent my whole first season with the Mudcats (AA). I am now in my second season (April I think), and I was just called up to the Louisville Bats...

September is just around the corner. So far I am scheduled for no game on that date because the AAA season ends before the 14th. I should be to September no later than tommorow so I will post back with my results...

I am at the end of the second season and I don't have any problems yet while using the march 8th roster. But one of the guys here had the problem while using the default roster.. so I doubt that it has something to do with the online rosters.
And what I meant about keeping more save files:
I keep the last save file of each year (november 1st 2009 for instance) and after I signed my new contract and spring training is about to begin I will save a new file. After that I will sim through the season (takes 5 mins) to see if there is a problem. If not, I will play through the year and do the same thing again. If I will get the problem, I will try to load the old save file and sim through the offseason again and see if the problem will also occur. I doubt it... but I am not sure yet.

Someone had problems with the non-edited default rosters? When reading through all the posts I didn't see that. Do you remember who it was? I really hope I'm not wasting my time by going through another RTTS if it's just going to "F" up again.

Completely different situation- that thread is about people's opinion on a control scheme...those types of complaints *should* be listened to and implemented in next years game

What's going on in this thread is literally a game killer. I just bought a ps3 (on it's way) for the sole purpose of playing this game. And I was planning on spending a good part of the time playing RTTS.

I am very surprised that we have not heard from the development team regarding this issue, in my opinion it's so much more important than base running... I'm also surprised none of the reviews I read mentioned this issue at all...<O</O
