What do you want patched?
By the way, that Sports Talk Baseball clip was awesome. Takes me back to Joe Montana Sports Talk Football ... "a loss of 5 ... b-yards!"
Looking back. I think RBI Baseball was really ahead of its time. I think that was the first game to have some real stadiums because I remember the fountains in K.C. It might have been RBI 4.
Anyway, back on topic. I like that cover of the Intellivision Baseball cartridge.Comment

Video games has always been an escape for me from pressure/stress, and still is. I had a lot to escape from as a kid and alot of these baseball games helped me out there, especially Micro League Baseball for the Atari 800 XL. Anyone ever play this? It was mostly stat based with some rudimentary graphics.

Heel, that game was sick. I remember being at the game store and the guy talking about that game coming out. He talked about how it would have the real batting stances. Man, I love that game. But wow, the bat sound sounds like a metal bat. Never realize that back then.Comment

Re: All you young guys should consider yourselves very, very lucky
I'm 32. I've been playing baseball games since I can remember, back to some terrible, now nameless game that I loved anyway because it had Jody Davis on the Cubs back in '84.
Anyway, baseball was my favorite sport growing up. I played it and studied it, and I always dreamed of a game that incorporated all those real life nuances that make baseball the great sport that it is.
This is that game. I didn't want to judge too quickly out of the box, so I have given it somewhere between 20-30 games to make sure that what I saw initially was not a fluke. It wasn't. This game includes virtually all of the things I used to precede with the words, "Wouldn't it be cool if. . . ." That's not hyperbole. That's fact, and reading others' posts makes me realize I'm far from the only person who feels this way.
So if you're younger, and have, probably, much more time with this game than I ever will, consider yourself extremely lucky. If you play baseball competitively, you will learn from this game and become a better player. I firmly believe that.
Thanks to the development team for everything you have done. I'm continually amazed how representative this game is.
At any rate, it's the first game, baseball or otherwise, that I remember playing.
Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game.Comment

A bit older myself.....I too played the dice and card game....and loved it. Never in my wildest dreams at that time did I foresee a game like The Show. I have only played ASB and The Show....love(d) them both. But the memories of the dice and cards....excellent, great times.

Re: All you young guys should consider yourselves very, very lucky
I'm 33.....my first baseball game was called Micro-League on the Commodore 64. Was a fantastic sim for those days. Man, I had notebooks on top of notebook full of stats. Those were fun days. This was the 1st game I had played with real players, so that was exciting. I remember sitting in middle school making out my lineups in class.
Probably the best game I remember playing other than this and MVP was Ken Griffey baseball for the Super Nintendo and then the 2nd Ken Griffey on the Nintendo 64.Comment

(25 y.o.) I loved RBI, Super Bases Loaded w/ Ryne Sandberg, World Series Baseball (Sega Genesis), and then there was some spacey galactic baseball game I can't remember the name of.
However, the cream of the crop will always be on SNES. Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball.Comment

Re: All you young guys should consider yourselves very, very lucky
Wow, this thread is bringing back memories. I'm 47 and have been playing baseball board games (Strat-O-Matic, APBA, etc.) and computer/console games for a very long time. Definitely played Intellivision baseball, Micro League, Earl Weaver (on the Commodore Amiga), Front Page Sports, MVP 05, OOTP among others. Had been playing the 2k series on the 360 for the past couple of years and then a couple of weeks ago I decided to dump my 360 and go with the PS3. Mainly did that for "The Show" and I am soooooo happy I did! This game is awesome and I've only played RTTS so far. I've been staying up until 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning on weekends playing it. I'm waiting for knights rosters to come out to start a franchise and can't wait.Comment
