I too, worry about the direction of this game. I know it's the best baseball game around (maybe ever), but there has to be a change in player models and/or animations for this game to be great. If SCEA just decides to stay even keel with this game and only add minor features (ie mascots from 09) it will be a disappointment.

We have not seen any signs of them being complacent with prior versions so why worry now?

I'm not sure. It just seems like this series has hit its pinnacle and will sell copies every year based on reputation. For me, I think there are lots of gameplay fixes still needed to be implemented.

I just don't wanna get too hyped. I really hope they get rid of those short-arm looking throws, especially from pitchers. Check out Vincente Padilla in MLB 09 to see what I am talking about.

Every year they've taken positives steps. I'll stay hyped. We can't get everything we want and I'm staying impressed with the improvements I've seen every year.

WORLD SERIES PATCHES! On the hats and on the jersey sleeves. Would bring so much more to the game. Madden 10 implemented SB patches and even have tjhe future logos up to SB V.

Ive never seen the MLB series be complacent, you can't count the first year on PS3 because its tough to make a game on a new system for the first time. Last year they totally overhauled the graphics and lightings system. Hopefully player models, animations and presentation come this year.

Re: MLB The Show 10 Back of The Box Predictions

I have to say I love this game and would like to see only minor tweaks to the game play, some sort of working throw meter (whether I hold it in or tap it I get the same throws) and more user pick offs.

My biggest wishes all deal with the manager and coaches aspect of the game:

User controlled arguing - if I think someone got robbed I can go out and argue, maybe even get tossed just to fire up the team.

Being able to edit coaches - do it similar to players, have Torre, Piniella, etc. untouchable as far as attributes and appearances, but the ability to edit all the generic coaches names, skin color, etc. Also be able to change any coaches number. Nothing like signing that big free agent pitcher and have him be the same number as your pitching coach (most times the coach would change his number not the player).

Hire/Fire coaches and managers in season.

I love the idea of having individual manager styles. Girardi, LaRussa running through their bullpens overmanaging. Baker overusing his starters. Piniella overusing his key pen arms. I would do away with managers attribute numbers for hitting clutch, velocity, etc and use something like this.

Individual player personalities - goes with manager style, a laid back player might not sign with the Cubs because they don't want to have to deal with Piniella.

count me in as also agreeing that the gameplay and AI needs some more fine tuning. I think there are areas of this game that are completely underdeveloped or completely ignored in comparison to the rest of the game.

People tend to overlook it or give it a pass because this game is so good in those other areas.

For example, the AI has no clue how to use any form of advanced logic to set their lineup other than just following preprogrammed and scripted basic rule sets. I seen Pat Burrells go 3-4 in a post season game with 2 HRs and 5 RBI and the next game he was benched in the favor of the a pitcher lefty/righty matchup. So the CPU AI just sticks to its linear pre programmed routine for setting lineups by countering pitcher handedness with the opposite batting. It should have extra logics built in to evalute recent player performances and stick with the hot bats over just matchups.

This is just one basic example of the AI's very limited and scripted managing routines. A game of this depth, should develop the AI a little further to be on par with the rest of the games great authenticity

We def. need a new injury system because it is just too random. Ervin Santana tore his rotator cuff during my franchise and was out for 5 days. I only wish I knew who his surgeon was.

We need a type of "injury history" that sort of mimics HC 09. I would love to see pitchers lose velocity because of reoccuring shoulder problems, players visiting the DL too often, etc. We need to start having injury prone players.
