My biggest thing was the check swing. Glad to see they improved it. BUT, heres a question. I finished my season last night.(Rangers, we made it!) Played every game while holding down two jobs and a child. The Brew Crew and the Cubs finished with the exact same record 90-72. The Brewers won the majority of the regular season matchups but the Cubs made the post season. If someone could tell me the rules on why the Cubs made it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for any and all feedback.

How is the throwing meter?

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
ahh, yes...that's another one. I am actually pretty confident that this one will be in because it used to be before they changed the system last year and I recall either Kolbe or Russell responded positively to my questions about it via PM last year. I would still love confirmation though!Comment

He also said he was going to really put it through it's paces today and get a better idea of exactly how the risk/reward is implemented. So we should see some good info on this tonight or tomorrow!Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
Some real quick impressions of the impressions :
Here are some RTTS notes:
2) You can play the ENTIRE game if you wish. That's right you can now see every pitch. There are options to allow you to play through every pitch on offense but not on defense. Or you can see every pitch on defense but not on offense. My favourite option enables you to just see the final pitch (ie. the pitch that puts the ball in play) to each batter. If you prefer last year's options they are still there as well.
PYS allows playing the entire game but I love the option (like bhurst99) for the "Pitch that gets put in play".. PERFECT!
Random thoughts ...
2) The fielding training mode in RTTS really requires you to be on your toes. (It's also available in the practise mode). You will be presented with a situation (ie. one out, runners on first and third) and you have to decide what is the appropriate play when the ball is hit to you. If you're an infielder it might be the double play or just making the safe out at first depending on how hard and where the ball is hit. It's well done.
There were many more things I'd love to say but just don't have the time. I believe I will certainly be taking off "The Show" dayJoshua:

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Did they add "The Catch" to the left-center field wall at US Cellular Field?
(Can't remember if I asked this earlier. I know I asked about the fireworks. Sorry if this is a duplicate.)Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
They have fixed just about everything that I could have wished for ex. Bringing in a pitcher while at bat! Pickoff moves! Playing every pitch in RTTS! and stuff I cant even remember! LOL Great job!Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
I'm almost all about gameplay, and I really haven't heard much about gameplay changes this year. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving all of the visual improvements I'm reading about; however, the thing I'm most excited about is the new throwing meter.
I really hope the swing timing is still pretty much the same in 10 because it was a huge gameplay improvement in '09 that took the game to the next level IMO, you could actually pull inside pitches!!!
The off-the-bat physics could definitely be improved. In '09, balls off the bat were still hit too hard (especially by the CPU). I did see bloopers here and there (they were there) but happened far too infrequently for my tastes.
I hope they kept the fielder diving approximately the same. I know there were a lot of complaints saying diving was too hard, but after playing a good handful of games in '09, I thought the diving was spot on. I hope we never go back to the horrible vacuum dives of '08.
Have they fixed the blasted 3rd baseman positioning which allowed pretty much any dribbler down the line to get through for a hit? The 3rd baseman positioned too far off the line also greatly affected ground balls in the hole (between SS and 3B).
Are there much better collisions at 2nd base and the pitcher's mound? In '09, you couldn't breakup double plays at 2nd. The only way a DP would not be turned is if there was a dropped transfer (Oh, and do dropped transfers happen too often like in '09?). I'm not asking for a collision detection system, I just would like to see a few animation sequences at 2nd showing a DP being broken up by the slide. Lastly, there was a horrible pitcher animation in '09 where a batted ball bounced of the pitcher. Did they remove this or improve it?
Oh, and one visual improvement question, did they fix the wall along the left field line at Wrigley?Comment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
You can change your preferences to have (I think) 40 posts per page. For me, this thread is only at page 6. Much easier to read through IMO.Comment
