re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
I'm ridiculous about progressive lighting and was also pissed that Madden didn't have it last year. Like someone else said, I'd rather SCEA do it the way they do it and have it look incredible, instead of the way 2k has done it in the past (24 hour clock) but very bland looking. I was very bummed about no daytime lighting in last years game, so I'm pretty pumped they worked this in.
However it sounds like the options remain the same, DAY or NIGHT game. So I'm very interested to see if there will be any differences between 1PM and 4PM starts.Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Hopefully this will be updated in 2011. When the playoffs start, it is generally at 8:00 on the East Coast, so if the game is on the West Coast it winds up being about 5:00 at night. Judging by the work that the SCEA guys do, I'm sure we'll eventually see start times other than 1:00 and 7:00.Comment

Yes, but didn't they have the lighting dependent on time of year? So the playoffs on the east started dark?
I do know starting in April it started later in the lighting cycle it was darker faster (by 2nd inning) and as you went more towards the summer, it got darker later in the games (4-5th innings).Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Pared-
I asked earlier and someone else asked as well...for us Mets fans
1) did they include the new cream-colored pinstripe jersey
2) did they correct the helmets with the road jerseys? ('09 had the black/blue with the black jersey and the all black with the gray...should be reversed)
3) what "classic" unis did they have? The '86 version hopefully!?!?!Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
One thing I LOVE about the 7pm starts from last year is how the shadows at the start of the game would vary as you progressed throughout the seasons: Each game would start off lighter and lighter up until June 21, and then start off darker and darker. By the time you hit the playoffs, 7pm games were totally dark at the start.
I wonder if they did anything like this for day games? It's obviously much more subtle.
On that note, it sure would be nice for World Series games on the west coast to start before the sun completely sets, but not a big deal.Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Great! The Official MLB Rulebook defines the strikezone from those points you mentioned while the batter is in his batting stance. So if '10 goes by that official rulebook, someone like Ricky Henderson (Who crouched down VERY low) would have a smaller strikezone than if a batter of the same height had an upright stance.
Note there used to be a reference to the "usual" stance. Also note the current rule is not the initial stance, but when they initiate the swing at the ball.
Whats funny too is the phrase "on the black" use by so many, which technically is NOT a strike per the letter of the law (the black is not part of home plate).Last edited by Pielet; 01-24-2010, 11:18 PM.Thank you to all the men and women who serve in this great nations armed forces.Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
How do injuries work during games? Now, I've heard that there are "no cut scenes". Does this include with injuries on the field? Will we just see the notification after a play up the first baseline that "Alexei Ramirez is injured and needs to be replaced" and then after the game we find out he tore his achilles? Or will we still see the cut scene with them writhing in pain in the dirt? Or will we see in real time the injury take place and perhaps the trainers coming on the field to escort him off?Comment

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Hey guys can you tell me if,
AI pitching throws more balls without having to adjust sliders?
Uniform textures are sharper (especially for night games)?
Did Dodger stadium get any graphical improvements? There wasn't a tarp along the lines in 09.
Can you throw a breaking ball down without it becoming a passed ball?
Any more info on confidence and pitching accuracy or the big inning syndrome where you can be cruising along and suddenly the wheels fall off and your pitcher loses it completely?
Thanks.Pitchers and Catchers Report; Life Worth Living AgainComment

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
I love this game and the only thing that I disliked about MLB 09' was I didn't have control of the numbers.
I spent 500 hrs on guys like Mickey Mantle,Ted Williams,Willie Mays etc.
So it kind of killed it for me to see hundreds of my created players ( a labor of love )show up in Season & Franchise with the wrong numbers. Between 4 and 5 thousand hours of work...
One might think a little obsessive but to me it was my way of showing respect to the players I looked up to when I was a kid.
My question is will we be allowed to create players with their real numbers in MLB 10'?
Thanks,

re: Community Day Questions, Answers, and Impressions
Russell I have another question about online leagues if you wouldn't mind giving me some useful insight....
Say you're running a 30 team league and a owner drops, obviously now you can replace them. However, what if you can not find a suitable replacement will that team become CPU controlled or will there games just be simmed?
How would that work?Madden 17

Re: Post thoughts here for Community Day Hands-on Impressions
To the CD guys: I've asked this already in the CD questions thread, and I don't believe it was answered (sorry if I missed it). It's a bit of an obscure question but can't hurt to ask...
Did any of you play in Camden Yards, and if so, can you tell me if it's been updated to include the hotel beyond left center field and also if the out-of-town scoreboard has been updated to be an HD screen?
Thanks!Last edited by Drew127; 01-25-2010, 12:14 AM.Comment
