The buildings look amazing. The sky with the clouds looks so real, the stadiums are super detailed and look "alive", the shadows, especially the cloud shadows, are jaw dropping. And with the new lighting, looks even more like a real broadcast in the afternoon than before.

Well after striking out at the first two Best Buy stores i drove to this afternoon, I hit paydirt at the third one. Played a whole game and part of a second one, and man did it feel smooth. I thought I was somewhat impressed with the 2K demo yesterday, but this is seriously a ballgame once again this year.
If any of you are in the Twin Cities area, I was at the Ridgedale Best Buy location if you care to get a game in.

Where to start... Broadcast camera angle is amazing. I was really liking the variety of infield choppers, dribblers in front of the plate, and variety in the foul balls. I played both games at Target Field, one day game and one night game. Loved seeing the expression on Nick Punto's face as he grimmaced at a called 3rd strike. the populated dugouts and bullpens are an excellent touch. Got to see Mauer toss away the catcher's mask on a wild pitch, very cool!

I will give some more impressions when i get a chance, just wanted to check in and let the Twin Cities Show Fans where they could get a game in before release.

Lincecum is very short and small in stature in reality. And no, his pitching motion is exactly the same. He also didn't have a slider in his arsenal in the Best Buy version I played today.
But, make no mistake this game is phenomenal!
I stood and played 9 innings of the Battle of the Bay at AT&T. Here are a few of my impressions:
-The throwing meter is much improved. On a groundball to Panda, I tapped it to throw across to 1st and he threw it in the dirt and Huff couldn't pick it out of the dirt. Later in the game I threw away an easy double play into the stands with Freddy Sanchez because I fired it to first on the backside of the DP when I had plenty of time.
-I allowed 3 walks, and drew 2 walks on All-Star, no K Zone, no Guess Pitch. Lincecum was gone in the 6th. Blue was squeezing the zone, but hitters were showing discipline and a lack of discipline depending on who they were.
-The scoreboard has some great videos/messages...I will not give them away. It's just icing on the cake.
-The game I played started at 1:05 and the hands of the clock moved throughout the game and when the game ended it was 2:55. The awesome part about this is that at the beginning of the game there were 0 shadows. In the 7th or 8th inning the shadows started to appear and creep across the diamond. It was unbelievable! Several other customers were watching me play and asking me if I was just watching a game. I told them I was playing it and their mouth's dropped. That speaks volumes alone regarding the graphics and presentation.
-Many more extra base hits. Balls over the OF's heads are more frequent. Look out for richochet's off the walls.
-I tried to make a play in the 6 hole with Renteria and he double clutched and the runner beat the throw. That never happened last year.
-There will be Orange Fridays!
-You will not be disappointed with Kung Fu Panda.
-A couple of low points for any Giants fans: 1) I hit a bomb with Rowand and the fog horn went off, but the water cannons in Levi's landing did not spray/shoot water out of them. Btw, I did not see any splash HR's when I played, but we know those are rare. 2) For any Eugenio Velez fans, his stance is way off. I don't like that guy anyway so I don't care, but just an observation.
I kind of wish I didn't go to Best Buy to play it because now I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this game....well maybe I'm glad I went just a little bit.

they took out cpu vs. cpu i hope not. every once in a while i like to watch a game. I saw an earlier post that said that it was taken out. anybody know for sure? thanks in advance.Comment

CPU vs. CPU is definitely still in, I watched part of a CPU game at the preview event just before heading back to the hotel the first day.
I suspect the reason the tips screen came up is that the player didn't set both teams to CPU before starting the game (you can still switch in mid-game, too).Comment
