Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!

I know it's a little early to start a "Little Things" thread but I have never seen this before in any Show game..A woman tried to snag a foul ball and fell over the padding and onto the field. A security official nearby helped her back to her seat.

Also throughout the game, you can see the pitchers sitting down in the bullpen watching the action.

I got a key RBI with Posada and it showed Jeter in the dugout giving a fist pump!

For the baserunner windows not showing numbers or more detail; that is not a bug. The game is designed to have it that way to relieve the stress on the frame rate and keeps that from dropping in said situations. Perhaps in the future this will be something that is included, but under the current specs it was something that gets sacrificed for smoother game play.

If anyone who has played it could talk a little more about how they feel about the throwing meter it would be great. I think fielding should be just as fun as hitting so this is something I am looking forward to.

What does kiosk in Best Buy look like? I went to my Best Buy and saw a kiosk that had PS3 on the sides on like a 13 each monitor...it was like stuck on one of the end of the aisles...Down a few rows from it was the X-Box kiosk....Did I look at the right place? The only games on the PS3 were just abunch of demos...I remeber NCAA Football was one of em. I looked uner the game disc on XMB and it didn't have any game on it either...it just said data disc. I asked if they had it on display and the guy looked something up and said no it's not on display.

I wouldn't exactly call it a kiosk. Mine had it on a 42" Sony across from where the PSP games are. I know what you're referring to, but it's not on that. Check down an aisle.

Just played it at the best buy in Cranberry Pa and all I can say is simply amazing! I was worried about it not being a big jump but it does look and play much better. I am speechless really. I played at PNC park against the A's and the water flowing in the rivers and the building look crazy good. The ball physics are really well done! That's is for me it's just gonna be a great season even if my Pirates still will stink! lol

The throwing meter seemed much smoother. I had no problem preloading throws on the run. It was also much easier to set throwing strength level. It was very easy to throw lite to strong throws. the fielding was also much better. From routed to the ball to overall smoothness. The fielding speed also seemed much more realistic. For the first time I really felt like I was chasing a ball down when it was hit in the gap. Hope this is what you were looking for.

layed a quick couple innings at Best Buy in Chesterfield, MO. The game feels very similar to last year's at initial playing. They must have had the game playing at 480 or 720, because it looked nowhere near as it did last year, and it's supposed to be a step up graphically. The game is meant to be played at 1080p.

                    - The meter is much harder to perfect it seems.
                    - Game was set as the Cards vs. the Yankees. It was a very grey day in NY.
                    - Fielding does appear to be a little more responsive.
                    - The new broadcast angle looks very realistic, but makes it more difficult to adapt to where the ball is.
                    - I saw a fielding error by the second baseman where he kicked it while he was trying to field a grounder up the middle. Don't recall seeing that last year.
                    - Yankee Stadium looks meticulous and very life like.
                    - The meter throwing in the outfield makes a significant difference as opposed to years past.
                    - I love the look of the new overlays. Gives it a fresher look.
                    - I saw fans reach over and try and field a foul ball hit down the right side.
                    - Crowds looks very nice.

That's all I could get from my little 2 innings of play. It wouldn't allow me to pause and adjust the settings (pitch delay slider, etc.).

That's exactly what I was looking for, I appreciate it. I don't like the idea of just pressing a button and seeing what happens. I got tired of seeing Chase Utley throw it 95mph to first for no reason. Thanks again, I look forward to it.

I don't know about your BB, but mine forced me to play with my face like a foot away from a (maybe) 42" TV. It looked a ton better when I wasn't right next to it. When you have your face almost pressed up against the thing, like I did because the controller cord was so short, you do notice some imperfections, though.

Any of you guys get one of those nasty kicks off an outfield wall yet? The impression all of us got at CPE was that you'll have to be able to play your angles this year or risk giving up multiple bases when the ball kicks away from you.

I went to Best Buy tonight and played. Great game. They had two disks just laying there and i was tempted to take one but chose not to.

I'm just the opposite. I get impatient sometimes and wish there was less time between pitches LOL. I have mentioned this in wishlist threads and I think it is soooooo cool that, with all the awesome improvements for '10, this just pops up 'under the radar'. What an amazing franchise this is!
