You could just ask. "Sir, I like that TV, could you point me to one just like it?"

I would bet it's 1080p, 120 hz, all that fun stuff. I don't think they'd display the game on crap.

No, it will still be beautiful on it obviously...

Just 120hz and above on LCD TVs will net less frame-rate issues sometimes. It uses the TVs own processing effects to smooth them out.

Also throughout the game, you can see the pitchers sitting down in the bullpen watching the action.

I got a key RBI with Posada and it showed Jeter in the dugout giving a fist pump!

            ...That is amazing.

Hell ya- I did! It was crazy! Great ball physics. It kicked around the corner and bounced out and I miss judged it and I actually was happy about it! lol

It must have been 480 because you aren't likely to see a huge difference in 720p and 1080p with the game

Re: Play it at a kiosk? Post impressions here!!

OK I played a full nine-inning game tonight and about 6 innings of another game, and here are my initial impressions.

I loved the RTP and Broadcast cam, really made the game feel like a TV broadcast. As I played, people who were walking by were stopping to watch and commenting the game looked Amazing and were asking me which game it was. A BEst Buy employee saw me there for a full hour and got me a seat! HA!!

The crowd didn't look so great to me, looked worse than I remember it from 09. This was in Fenway park, outfield view. From the videos I've seen online they looked better, so I'm thinking it was the fact I was a foot from a 50 inch LCD with the brightness and contrast jacked up and actually paying attention to the crowd closely (they were pixelated). The crowd did react great to foul balls, especially down the line where they reached down and tried to grab a souvenir!! The most improved thing in this area was the crowd atmosphere. The crowd got LOUD during big moments, much more than before, and it really added to the atmosphere and pressure of the big moments!

Played a day game and the lighting was superb! I was amazed that in the 7th inning, the shadows were covering home plate while the pitcher was still in the sunshine!! The shadows on the field and on the players looked much improved.

The gameplay was pretty much the same but with what seemed like improved hit variety. I saw a couple choppers in the infield, and a double down the line that rattled in the corner a bit and didn't die on the way. I did notice that double plays can be broken up now, with the slide affecting the throw to first and possibly causing the SS or 2B to tumble and not make a throw at all.

Some things that worried me: I hit a ball to right center and the Yanks CF (I was Boston) seemed to get there and just let it hit right next to him. This could actually be a good thing and indicate he got wall shy, but it seemed like he was there and the ball hit the ground right in front of the wall on the warning track. This definitely would have been caught in years past.

Also, I noticed some wonky throwing animations. Ball hit to RF, my right fielder fielded it straight on, then sort of turned a weird angle to his right before he threw the ball. I saw a couple wonky animations related to throwing, which might have to do with the new throwing dynamics...but I noticed only 2 or 3 in about 15 innings of play (two separate games) and it did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the game in any way. These might even be more noticeable because of the broadcast cam making the camera closer to the fielder.

There were a couple of plays at bases where it looked for sure I was going to be out, the ball beat me by 5-10 feet and throw was online and I was called safe both times. I have played hundreds of games of The Show over the years and while I remember blown calls once in awhile, usually when the throw beat you and the tag was there it was called out. Then again, I didn't look at replays because the start button was hard to hit on the controllers since they had the armor around them, so it could have been closer than it looked at full speed.

Also, there were 2 instances where I hit foul balls behind the plate at an angle towards the dugout where Posada made full out diving catches. Now, this was not realistic, as the balls were hit at a low trajectory and not in the air long at all. It would have required INSTANT reaction to the ball by the catcher, which just doesn't happen in real life. Hard to describe but if you saw it you'd understand if you've watched a lot of baseball. The ball was almost looped back, more line-drivey than popup. This happened twice in the same game.

It sounds from the above like im nitpicking and didn't enjoy the game, but the above were small things. Overall, I enjoyed the game and felt it was a nice step up from 09...loved the improved hit variety, ability to have separate difficulty for pitching and hitting, warm up pitches were awesome, broadcast cam & RTP, awesome lighting, scorer's decisions displayed, throwing meter, etc etc.

Can't wait for this weekend (I have gotten it early 3 years running and called a place today which said they should have it Friday or Saturday for sale).

I plan on going back tomorrow for another game!

What's weird is that my first impression was it didn't look as good, or definitely not a step up from last year. Then again, I attributed this to the TV quality and settings, me being a foot away due to the controller cords, the camera being more zoomed in for fielding with the Broadcast cam, and of course having extremely high expectations.

When I stepped back a little further it looked better, and people walking by were remarking how amazing it looked.

played two games about 2 hours ago, let's see where to start. I played The braves vs the mets at turner field. I hit a homerun off johan santana with Escobar. I didnt like visuals maybe it was the TV, but the baseball had some kinda aura around it and also when the players ran on the base path and you saw it on the little cam, they didnt have numbers on they back like it was the bat boy running lol. The second game was with the rangers at the twins. Hit a homerun with Ian Kinsler but they the twins answered back with a homerun from Mauer lol. I'm not going to front, I didn't really like how the game looks. Maybe it was the TV or the game not being done, i ejected it out of the ps3 and it was blank and said it was not for resale. I have many photo's, how do i put on here?

Just up front, I have been playing baseball games like many of us since the 80's..

Played for about an hour at Best Buy in Westbury, NY..

Started with Yanks vs Phils in Yankee Stadium which looked great.. the clock on the scoreboard was in time with the game.. First pitch I threw bounced up and hit the umpire who keeled over in pain.. nice..

Ball seems much more "alive" and unpredictable which is a welcome change.. Ball from Polanco to Howard bounced in dirt off his glove and rolled towards the pitcher..

Halladay tried a pick off and threw it in the stands..

Ticker at the top updates with scoring (i.e. Scoring ruled error E6)

Hit a HR with Granderson.. They played the highlight at the end of the inning..
He also got congrats from players in dugout.. I think there were about 8 - 10 teammates in there..

I then shoved my key to get back to the main menu..

HR derby in Citi Field which is much improved.. Pujols vs. Tex.. You cannot get swing analysis in the derby but it was great fun especially with the broadcast cam.. Once you hit it fair or foul you get a running ft. tally.. The cut scenes of the other teammates will get a bit stale, but was a blast..

A note on the camera.. I loved having it on when I was batting but have a real hard time judging where fly balls will land based on the camera's relation to the field.. really nice having it when batting..

The fans reaching for foul balls is very subtle..

Catcher mask animation is awesome.. Saw some really high choppers and bloopers that would not have ever happened with 09..

I did notice the bit of a glow on players running around the bases but the TV they use may be the culprit..

I think I sold 3 PS3's to customers who were watching me play.. (I offered to let them try btw "

I then played a few inning at my team (LAD vs SF)..

Bullpen view of the opposing teams is really nice to have finally.. As are seeing your bullpen players in the actual bullpen..

All in all, much improved over 09 and as Knight had said, I can't even play 09 anymore.. retired..

                              peaces..chris
