Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
But again, the cpu controlled teams won't claim them so it's not a big deal imo. Just as long as YOU don't claim them, and pretty much forget they are waived then no problems!
Just did it with injuries on this time and worked like a charm! All you have to doo is flip CPU roster control on, then back off and its cured! Thanks to the man who figured this out(don't know ur name)!
Now the real question is, do I wait until Monday to start my chise or not..hahaComment

It also works on saved rosters as well! I downloaded a "Topp 100 prospects" roster from the vault, and used that. It works perfect! CPU won't make any trades but it's better than them making them for you, as well as them claiming players off trade waivers. You just have to resist the temptation in not claiming a few players for yourself lol...
Noticed this time my team was 13.5 back of Division lead and did NOT call up players from Minors this time. Dunno if this was the reason, but regardless they didnt call anyone up. September 7th is when the playoffs start for the minor leagues, so that's why it happens on that date. I'm excited to start a chise now!
I believe the trick is to flip "CPU Control Roster" ON at global settings at the start, and then flip it back off. It's some sort of glitch in there, like the game still thinks ur in control when ur not. I am going to try it with injuries on this time and see if it works.
None even offered?
I don't think this work around has anything to do with rosters.
It's gotta be the switch for CPU ROSTER CONTROL...and with you saying no moves are made...it also sounds like it's staying on because injuries are off.
I think if you're able to get injuries on...the CPU will move guys.(up and down)

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
Knight... i set injuries off on purpose. Did it with them on and they were moving around cuz of injuries. If you can deal with NO trades being performed or offered to you then this will work great! Basically, its everything on except trades are off.
I personally can deal with that, cuz when the cpu did trade the logic was awful! Now im not home to check, but im sure you can trade manually if u wanted. Also, if u controlled all 30 teams like most do then you can eeasily perform trades manually to replicate real life, or whatever u wanted. Its just that the cpu will not trade PERIOD on their own.Comment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
well, I just did the cpu control on and off trick, none of my players were moved, I don't think I saw ANY trades at all, which is better than them trading my players.
but I got to the second season and went to set my AA lineup (i was the Astros) and it froze.
This is whack.Comment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
I found the method to work with saved rosters as well, but there is a catch as I simmed it 3 times. The catch is that the movement in the league is almost non existent, with maybe a trade here or a move there. It does work though, and the comp does put people on the trading block.Comment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
I posted this in a different thread in where they were discussing the effects of the player potential fix, but it answers your question as well..
-------------------------
a majority, if not damn near all, the players being put on trade waivers or even traded for prospects are players that are in the last year of their contract and:
* are in a big money contract
* are old
I don't believe the player potential fix will eliminate this from happening. Teams are looking to dump big salary players for cheaper, high ceiling, prospects. Not sure there is anything one could do to fix this outside of controlling every team.
This is something we have asked for in the past, but I think the logic isn't quite worked out. Players should only trade big name free agents after July 1st AND if they are more than 6 games back of a playoff spot.
Another thing is the cpu sees arbitration players as in last year even though they are under control until after 6 years.
The waivers this year is a great feature, but needs some work. I think the dates are even messed up because after the season you cannot make trades because it says "playoff eligible players can not be traded after waiver period." This is in effect until Jan 1.Comment

that is weird...prolly nothin too worry about though. test it again and see if it does it again.Comment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
Any ideas anyone? Here are my original questions:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><tr> <td style="background-image: url(/vBulletin/images/quotes/00.gif); width: 100%; height: 1px;" width="100%"> Can somone confirm whether or not AI teams call players up because of performance and NOT just injuries?
Was there a fix yet for the multiple closers not being on a MLB roster?
Sounds like a while before a waiver fix...how are people dealing with this to start a franchise without having to wait 1-2 months to do so? I've read some of this thread but not all of it and am wondering what people are doing to combat some of the wackiness.
Last question, do the quirky franchise transactions affect RTTS at all?
Looking for confirmation on these issues before buying tonight after work! Thank you fellow MLB Show'ers!

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
Just to clarify, the method that Knight was talking about yesterday and the method you mentioned above is different then the newest work around involving turning roster control on and then off again correct? I dont see what the benefit is to doing this new work around instead of the other one as it seems like you have more control and customization options using the method Knight mentioned (1 user profile, rest set to no profile, global settings altered the way you want). I notice you mention 2 profiles, one for your team and one for the rest of the league, is that necessary or can you just leave the rest of the league as no profile and use the global settings to determine what happens?Comment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
I think this may be beneficial to folks who are late to the workaround game...
Workaround #1:
- Control your desired team with your own personal profile.
- Create another profile (called whatever you want).
- Select all other MLB teams with the second profile.
- Make sure the second profile has all settings set to AUTO.
- This way, the user works as an overlord and can stop silly transactions before they happen.
Workaround #2:
- Control only one user team with your default profile.
- Change the option CPU ROSTER CONTROL to ON and then back to OFF.
- Trades seem not to happen at all, including CPU-induced trades the user did not approve.
Workaround #3
- Control one team with the default user profile.
- Make sure all other teams have NO PROFILE selected.
- Under GLOBAL options, make sure all settings are set to AUTO EXCEPT FOR TRADES...those should be set to manual.
- Players are placed on the trading block, and no CPU-induced trades happen for the user team.
I think these are the main ones, and I just summarized them up the best I could using my memory. If they are incorrect, feel free to let me know...I can edit them.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 03-05-2010, 10:30 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update
The one thing I noticed however is...the CPU does not move players up and down the minors due to performance. ONLY due to injuries. At least its thay way until September 7th, when some but not all call up minors to the majors. HOWEVER, if you control all 30 teams i noticed on August 1st you get emails about some minor league players.
It gives u a few players doing well and bad. You could just use that to manually bring up guys and put certain guys in minors if not doing good, especially if team is way out of a pennant race. This is all Im going to do personally. Just an idea though!
The only thing Im not sure what to do about is FAs. Too many unrealistic signings imo, any ideas how to go about this? With still seeing a good number of FAs go to different teams????Comment
