i like catcher, i tried wide but i could never tell low pitches, though i have gotten better at tracking the ball, but i still swing at WAY too much.

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
Seems like wide is the majority consensus. Those using outfield, do you find it too much of an advantage knowing the basic location of the pitch based on where the catcher sets up? I think if I do use this view, I'll turn off guess pitch, because otherwise, I'd be too tempted to abuse it by guessing the right location every time.Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I think I like outfield the most, I find myself swinging at everything and having difficulty getting a good idea of the strike zone behind the plate (especially low pitches). As far as seeing where the catcher is setting up, I don't really notice, I have other things to worry about.Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
even though 'wide' is my choice camera view, its still hard to make out low pitches because of the slight upturn toward the hill.
the trade off is better view of the stadium while batting.
they honestly just need to give us adjustable camera next year
can it be that hard?Last edited by econoodle; 03-08-2010, 12:39 AM.Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
Anyone using the pitcher view? I haven't tried playing with it, just watching CPU vs CPU(I always do that when I first get a game). I like the view just because it's like watching the game on tv.
If anyone is using it, are you able to hit? I'd think it would be tough to time the swing even though you can see the sign & where the catcher sets up.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
I always find myself coming back to the Catcher view, but the Wide view works pretty well for me too. I like the look of the offset view as well, but I run into trouble in that view when pitchers bust me inside with fastballs.
I'll probably stick with Catcher this year though, especially since I play online so much more this year. I don't like to have to adjust every time I switch back and forth. Now, more than everComment

Re: Consensus: Best Batting View?
As far as i can tell the catcher always puts down 1 finger no matter what pitch is thrown. Looks like the catcher sets up in the same place every time too. I think gamers are putting more realism into this game than there is.Last edited by ruiz00tx; 03-08-2010, 12:35 PM.Comment

That's not the case. They put down the correct finger for what pitch they want you to throw.NFL: Tennessee Titans

I don't remember the signs, but the catcher did set up in different spots. But this was while watching, not playing, so...Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

I love offset, it makes it very easy to lay off pitches outside.Ryan Spencer
