I lost two out of three to New York and I've lost the first two games to St. Louis, neither game has been close. I'm making silly errors, not pitching well, and doing absolutely nothing offensively. Not to mention I lost Chipper for a couple of games due to a lower back strain.

So after a hot start I'm now 12-8 and 1-4 on this road trip. I guess that's baseball though, right?
At least you're 4 games over. I am stuck around .500. The results of series are becoming predictable. Whatever has to happen to keep me as close to or at .500 as possible is happening. All sorts of ridiculous things are happening if I dare try to stray haha. I started a 10 game road trip at 13-13...I said to someone on AIM....that I would win 2 of 3 @ Cleveland, split 4 at @ Chicago and then lose 2 of 3 @ Boston to come back home 18-18...I won 2 of 3 @ Cleveland, won the first 2 @ Chicago, had a lead in game 3, only for Chicago to hit a home run on a ball that was 10 feet foul and 10 feet short of home run distance...that bogus run cost me the game...so I split the series...now I'm 1-1 in Boston...I guarantee I lose my next game to go to 18-18. My series are incredibly predictable. I've nailed the result of the series before it's started 9 out of 10 times. 10 for 11 if I drop my next game.

Did this on my dyansty last year too. I had a relief pitcher in the 20th inning blast a double with the bases loaded to beat me because that would have put me 2 games over. Then after game 50 or so, I blew up and ended up winning about 110 or so.

Edit: To follow up, I lost a 3-0 lead...a half dozen ridiculous things happened to prevent me from winning the 3rd game in Boston...back to 18-18. I've correctly predicted the outcome of 10 of 11 series...next up.
    Texas (3)-I'll take 2 of 3
    Minnesota (2)-Split
    @ Seattle (2)-Split
    @ Arizona (3)-Lose 2 of 3
    That will make me 23-23.

      WS Champs in first year!

Ended up winning AL East with only 89 wins(it was fantasy draft so al east isn't the same).

My team was great though, I had felix, kershaw as my 2 top SP and capps as CP. Offense consisted of guys like McCann, Uggla, Young and many others.

My coach retired even after winning world series! I guess 3 WS wins was enough for Cito(either that or the game is realistic cause he is retiring after this year in real life)

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

Well started up a Royals chise again after I found some rosters I like.
And So far the road has been a tough one

1st game against Detroit I won 4-1 in which Greinke pitched a gem and Soria got the save. Podsednik helped out bunches with 2 hits, 3 runs and a walk and 2 throwouts from left field.

However Porcello held me to one the next game even though Meche only let up two runs as I could not seem to get the offense to get going at all which seeems to be the story for the season. I then went on to drop the third series game against Detroit as Scherzer torched me to win 5-0.

And to add to my woes the Red Sox just swept me also as Greinke gave up 2 homers to Ortiz and my offense was basically non-existent. Its is funny that I can get players on base after base but just can never seem to cross home plate.

Besides the losses I do not feel we are playing terrible, it is just run production that I cannot seem to come upon.

Dejesus and Podsednik are playing great and even Betancourt has been very productive on offense (another story on defense with 4 errors already). I am also having a hard time on most the time who to start at second has niether Getz or Callaspo have been performing. I lead towards Getz for his speed and glove as Callaspo had two errors in the Boston series.

Anyway, off to play the second series against Detroit as hopefully I will get some of those wins back, right now being 1-5 sucks.

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

Well went to Detroit and won 2 out of 3 improving my record to 3-6, however then got beat by Minnesota 2-1 for the series but won on a game due to Greinke pitching a complete game shutout.

Most recently Toronto just took 2 games from me in our three game series which now leaves my record at 5-10 and 4th place in the AL Central for the season. The Twins lead the division with a 12-3 record.

I made Kyle Davies my fifth starter as Campillo was not getting the job done and so far it has seemed to pay off as Davies had a good outing in the Toronto game.

Also Yuniesky Betancourt has been a huge surprise as he leads the major leagues in hits and batting average so far.

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

I'm about to start a chise with San Diego using the fantasy draft. I'm a Yankees fan and always play with them, but I wanted to go with an NL team so I could play in those parks.

Here's the lineup I ended up with:

            vs. RHP

            1. Ichiro-RF
            2. Kaz Matsui-2B
            3. Raul Ibanez-LF
            4. Chipper Jones-3B
            5. Nate McClouth-CF
            6. Aubrey Huff-1B
            7. Carlos Ruiz-C
            8. Alex Gonzalez-SS
            9. Pitcher

            vs. LHP

-the same, except I'll put in Everth Cabrera at SS in the 8 hole against lefties.

            My bench:

-Everth Cabrera(as mentioned above, will platoon w/ Gonzalez
-J. Saltalamacchia-(will see a decent amount of time at C)
            -Ramon Santiago
            -Willie Harris
            -Cameron Maybin

            My rotation:

            1. Cliff Lee
            2. Ubaldo Jimenez
            3. J.A. Happ
            4. Rick Porcello
            5. Andy Pettitte

            Bullpen:

            Closer-Trevor Hoffman
            Long Relief-Jose Contreras
Middle Relief-Koji Uehara and Micah Owings
Set Up-Chan Ho Park from the Right and Darren Oliver from the left

            We'll see how this goes.

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

Started a Twins franchise before beginning my real Diamondback franchise with full minors rosters.

              All star difficulty.

After one month, I just suck! lol

              8-17
              .234 avg for the team
              .290 obp
              16 HR
              20 2B

              5.60 ERA
              3 saves
              3 blown saves

Joe Mauer is the only guy who hit for average (.320) and my run producer (21 rbi)
Thome is the power threat with 6 HR.

Cuddyer, Kubel, Hardy have less than .170 avg
              Hardy is a daily-error shortstop.

And I keep on losing games I must win.

For instance this game @ Detroit. (leading the game 2-1 before the 9th...)
Finished it with 12 hits, scored 2 runs only, got thrown out trying to advance twice.
But my pitching worked very well on this one, so I entered Nathan to close the game.

Detroit had only 3 hits at the beginning of the 9th.
Nathan allowed a first pitch triple to Guillen.
On the second pitch, another triple for Damon and the run is scored to tie the game.
Then I struck out (waoww!) the next guy, so 1 on (on 3rd) 1 out.
I intentionnaly walked the next guy to eventually turn a double play.
The guy on 1st took a one step lead.
              I tried a pick-off attempt.
Nathan trew the ball over Morneau's head.
              Damon scored the winning run.

              Wall-off error by Joe Nathan!

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

I just started an Orioles 'chise before I get O.S Full Minors and go with the Giants, but the Orioles can score some runs, but my god we give up a lot! Playing on legend difficulty and sitting at 2-4.

Nick Markakis has hit 3 HR, the catcher (Weiters I believe) has 3 HR and Brian Roberts is hitting .427

However the pitching staff isn't good at all. Give up a heap of HR and hard hit balls. One game lost 8-7. Hill hit 3HR and Wells put one out.

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

I decided to re-start a franchise since the patch and I wanted a challenge so, I chose Houston. I'm only six games in and so far, I'm 4-2.

I lost game one to SF by virtue of a blown save by Brandon Lyon (who came in with a 2-1 lead in the 9th and ended up giving up 2 straight singles and a 3 run HR). After that I won 4 straight tough games then, lost 7-0 against the Philly's in my last game.

Berkman went down in game four and is out for 2-3 weeks so, I'm starting Geoff Blum at first and called up Chris Johnson for AAA. My starting pitching and bullpen has actually preformed well in all of my wins. Looking forward I know that I need another left handed bat off of the bench but, as of now we're going to try to ride the ship until Berkman comes back.

                  My current starting lineup:

                  1. Bourn-CF
                  2. Matsui- 2b
                  3. Pence- RF
                  4. Lee- LF
                  5. Feliz- 3B
                  6. Blum- 1b
                  7. Manzella/Keppinger (vs LHP)- SS
                  8. Quintero- C

                  Bench-
                  Towles-C
                  Johnson- 3B
                  Michaels- OF
                  Sullivan- OF

                  15 Day DL- Berkman

                  Rotation:
                  1. Oswalt
                  2. Rodriguez
                  3. Myers
                  4. Moehler
                  5. Norris

                  Long Relief- Arias
                  Middle Relief- Fulchino, Sampson, Benítez
                  Set Up- Byrdak, Lindstrom
                  Closer- Lyon
                  My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

                  Alabama Crimson Tide
                  Green Bay Packers

                    Padres franchise:

Spring training was horrible. Played every game and finished 7-19. Ranked last in the league in ERA: 5.06. Damn minor league prospects. Only bright spot was Adrian Gonzalez who batted .397, 12 HR, 26 RBI.

Season opener: won 4-3 vs D-backs
                    Game 2: won 7-3

Evereth Cabrera out 3-4 weeks with head contusion. Signed Jermaine Dye and Jarrod Washburn from free agent list.

Started a Red Sox franchise to try and get the trophies for reaching the playoffs, etc. This will hold me over until the Full minors rosters come out and I start a Houston franchise.

I only played one game in ST to see what I had with my players and I simmed the rest. I just played the season opener at home against the Yankees, which I won 2-1.

I play on HOF (batting and pitching). Some notables from the first game:

Beckett: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 SO (Player of the game)
                      Papelbon: 1 IP, SV, 0 H, 0 R
                      Youk: 3-4, 1 RBI
                      Drew: 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 BB

                      CC: 6.2 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 9 SO
                      Jeter: 0-4, RBI

                        Any Phillies franchises out there??

I started a "temp" one until the full minor league rosters come out. I've only played two games b/c I've been playing RTTS as well.

Opening day vs. Nationals - Halladay was AWESOME! Phils win 7-0, Halladay goes CG, 8ks

2nd game with Hamels who started off the season much like he ended the previous season...going 6 innings giving up 5 runs, walking 2 and striking out 3. Phils lose 6-5. Rollins started off the game with a lead off HR. Jayson Werth also had a 2 run shot later in the game.

I love the new scrolling information board. Now I get to see when I am in a 6, 7 or even 8 game losing streak. I had one crazy game to earn that last loss. Playing against texas, we had some really solid hits that Kinsler took away. The guy was like a vacuum at second, making diving stops and running throws. I hate that guy. Then he ends up making 2 (should have been 3) errors. The third one was an over throw at first that the catcher backing up the first baseman managed to save the extra base. I really hate Vlad. The guy just destroys me. A funny announcement: I threw a wild pitch that went behind Vlad. The announcers said "I am a little surprised he didn't swing at that one." Fitting, as he was taking pitches well out of the zone into deep right and left field stands. The series is over and now I get to face TB and hope for a turn around of this season.

Lincecum is 1-2 in 5 starts. His ERA is around 4.00 and while his K numbers are good I may believe it may be time to move him. He has a pending arbitration, and I'll probably get hit for $1year/20million in arbitration. Matt Cain could win the Cy Young, and I'll want to sign him long term.

I would only deal Lincecum to a contender for probably an okay SP, a super prospect and maybe a middle reliever.

7-22. Not the start I was hoping for. On top of that, my Friday night series opener with the Rays brought in a measly 7,700 fans. That is even less than the real A's bring in. I have no idea what I am going to do with the other 2300 hats I had as a promotion.

What did it feel like playing in that sort of empty stadium?
