There were a lot of home runs hit (two by me and 6 by them). It was fun to watch the balls hit the stands and there not be anyone there. You don't even see people in the background when pitching from pitcher view. You also don't get beach balls on the field. I was expecting to see a tumbleweed blow through though.

I had an interesting game last night in my series opener against The Cards last night. Wandy took the mound against Kyle Lohse in a classic pitcher's duel. The score was 1-0 Cards to start the 8th, with the one run coming in the 4th on a Tommy Manzella throwing error with two outs and a runner on third.

In the 7th, Lohse was pulled in favor of a pinch hitter and Motte came in and shut us down in the 8th. That gave us 17 straight inning's with out scoring a single run.

In the 9th Cards manager, Tony Larussa brought in closer Ryan Franklin to get the save. Unfortunately, (for them) we had other plans. The inning started with Bourn singling to center, then Matsui singling to right from there it was just a hit parade capped off by a one out, bases clearing, triple by Humberto Quintero. When the dust finally settled we ended up with 6 runs in the 9th and a 6-2 win!

Silly, human comeback AI must have been on.

Good win...sounds pretty realistic...for the past 2-3 games i have been struggling to score runs..last night i played a 0-0 game until the 9th and lost it 2-1...managed to load the bases in the 9th and only get 1 run home...kinda sad lol

Re: MLB 10 THE SHOW FRANCHISE PROGRESS THREAD

I finally snapped my 9 game losing streak with a solid 2-1 win over Tampa Bay. With Ben Sheets pitching, I really put together 8 solid innings of pitching with 9 K's and managed to score the go ahead run in the 8th and my closer got his 4th save of the year. I decided to try out psycho's sliders. They worked pretty well for me. I was able to work the count better and get some walks (may have been a psychological thing, not swinging as often since I lowered the strike frequency).

The next game was pretty similar, except that I lost 3-2. It was a tough loss, especially considering it was mother's day and we indeed all had pink bats. I was pretty surprised to see that happen.

Your players had pink bats, in the game? Awsome!

I was held to 1 run yet again. I am going to not even touch the left stick while batting and worry about timing and if a pitch is a ball or strike. I take strikes, I swing at balls. If a man is on first I'll hit a grounder, if a man is on second I'll pop up. It's almost uncanny.

                  11-12?

I was doing pretty well, but my offense went to crap. I'm like 4 GB in the west and maybe 3 in the wild card.

I dropped two straight to Texas. I hate them so much. The last game they beat me 1-0 on back to back doubles in the 4th. The only hits they had the whole game. What is worse is that I just came from my stadium with our massive 6000 screaming fans to have to get beat down in a heart breaker in front their tiny showing of 45,000+. Nothing is worse than getting beat in front of such a paltry showing.

                      Heartbreaking loss last night.

Fell behind the Giants 4-0 early, rallied to take a 5-4 lead. Got two runs in the ninth to give me a nice three-run cushion, but Wagner just didn't have it. A leadoff homer to DeRosa, a ground out, a single to Huff and then three doubles in a row led to an 8-7 loss for my Braves.

I'm 2-2 now and completely addicted to this game.

I am trading for Bobby Crosby, that guy was a monster against me. He ate up everything at SS, he has a rocket and he pounds the crap out of the ball....

I also hit my first pinch-hit walk-off HR of my MLB career with Nate Schierholtz of all people. It came after Brian Wilson had another comeback cod.....ahem blown save.

Anyways I am now 12-12, and the Rockies lead the division with 15 wins, and the D-backs have 15. So, the magic number on me is lemme think 30-15-12= 3??? I can make a run I think, it'll be tight though.

Using only timing hitting and not worrying about the left stick worked great. This way I would only look for pitches which get a lot of the plate, and if the cpu hits the corners....so be it.

Once the OS rosters come out I'm going to do a Blue Jays, play every 6th franchise mode. I think this will be a pretty fun way with the Giants and Blue Jays to just really get into a lot of what the game has to offer. What'll be fun with the Jays is playing on easy sliders because the human games will only count for ~26 of the entire 162 game schedule.

Ok so in my brewer franchise i am playing 1 game per series...trying to get to pitch with every pitcher in my rotation, but it's not working really good. is suggestions on how to do this? I also signed John Smoltz for my rotation. i am currently setting 7-1 on veteran level. Braun is still struggling....Fielder is a beast!!! my last game froze unfortunately so i had to restart...

The longest winning streak of the season for our A's is sitting at a solid two games. Sheets pitched a gem the second game, going 7 innings with 9 K's, giving up a few too many hits but managing to get out of two bases loaded jams. He left the game with with a 1-1 tie. I really wanted to get him the win, but he was already up to 110 pitches after 7. In the top of the 9th, Chavez gets hit in the back with a pitch that somehow managed to break his wrist. Crisp lays down a perfect bunt that not only moves Rajai Davis, the pinch runner for Chavez to second, but also beats out the through. I just want one base hit to win this thing, but manage to strike out with Cust and Kouz. Sweeney comes in and launches one to right field that just barely stays fair to go ahead 4-1. Bailey gets the save on a mere 5 pitches.

Great game, but now I am without Chavez, Fox and Pennington for at least 2 months. I have to make a decision on who to bring up. Anyone familiar with the A's, some advice would be great. Should I go young and bring up Carter for power, which gives me a hole for infielders? Green is batting well in AAA so does he get the call? Do I go with Petit, who has experience in MLB, even if only a little? I am on the fence here. My initial thought was to bring up both Carter and Green and send down one of my extra pitchers. Any thoughts folks?
