Well then again Montero is not even a for sure catcher, he might end up switching positions. I just see too many question marks with him personally. But it sounds like from most people that I shouldn't have given him away, personally I don't have a problem with giving away someone who may or may not help me in the future for someone who can help me when right here and now. Thank you for the response!

      Re: Jake Westbrook

as a fellow tribe fan i was wondering why u want to trade these guys? in my franchise (144 games all played by me) Peralta has been a big surprise in my lineup. He hovered around 315 most of the season but has now fallen to around 295. He is terrible with RISP so i moved him up to 2nd where he was a great table setter for choo and hafner. At 3B his defense is pretty bad, but when i play him at 2nd he is one of the best guys i use at 2nd....so he plays there all the time now.

Westbrook was super inconsistant for me. He has 4 CG and 2 shutouts, but also had the worst record and era on the team. He is either great or terrible, there is no in between for me. But he has now settled into the 4th SP spot and is 10-7 with a 4.75 era

honestly, i dont know how your gonna get anyone decent for either of these guys. Both have bad overall ratings and D potential....westbrook may be a C, i cant remember.

Who are you planning on using to replace these guys? How are they doing in your chise so far?

Not realistic at all, but if you were offered that then go ahead and take it if you don't care about realism

          Re: Jake Westbrook

I am looking to get young and unload and talent over 30 that I can get something for. I'm hanging on to Hafner for the moment since I always tear up the AL with him. I am a huge baseball fan that loves a good pitching duel. I play the game deeper into franchises if I build pitching and defense. I loose interest in slugfest seasons. The pitching is terroble on this team. Masterson and Talbot have potential but I am trying to stock up. I have conducted a Pittsburgh Pirates like firesale in June. Branyan, Wood, Grudz, Sowers, Marson and some of my prospects in crowded positions are out already. Westbrook and Peralta are free agents after this year and I have no interest in resigning them. I just designated Peralta to AAA and no one claimed him, which is probably why I can't trade him. I would love to trade the like of Kearns, Shelton, and Marte. I am hoping to get an offer of a box of baseballs, so I don't think thats going to happen for me. Peralta is hitting .206 with 0 hr. Donald and Marte are playing 3rd.

the following just happened in my franchise:

            Marlins get: Mat Latos
Padres get: Mike Stanton, Burke Badenhop

then again Cody Ross is having a very good year for the Marlins, and now they add another young stud pitcher. i play them next series too, and the probables are Johnson/Nolasco/Latos. yikes.

              Need some advise fellow OSers...

I am in desperate need of power in my Mariners Franchise... Im looking to go young and likely OF or possibly 1B... Of the following list... who would you guys recommend... and what type of trade package should I put together for the trade to be "fair."

              Mike Stanton
              Jason Heyward
              Justin Upton
              Josh Hamilton
              Joey Votto
              Adrian Gonzalez

Here's the catch... I dont want to give up Cliff Lee in this trade... I am hoping to save him to acquire a few good potential young pitchers to build toward the future of my Rotation.

              thanks in advance guys.

Well I think to be fair that only Adrian Gonzalez would be a realistic trade. The padres seem to be looking to trade him because they wont be able to afford him pretty soon anyways and you would be able to get him without giving up Lee/Felix etc and can be had for maybe a few good prospects. The others not so much...all are young and almost impossible to get to be "fair".

Coming from a Braves fan there noooo way that Jason Heyward would get traded for pretty much anyone in baseball...Upton too.

Well the guy that jumps out at me right now is Adam Dunn he is a guy that is sorta is in the same situation as Gonzalez and could probably be had for less, just maybe a few mid-level guys. The Nationals are still rebuilding and seem to give him up pretty willingly.

He is just one guy that jumps out at me because he probably has top 5 power in the game especially against right handers. You could find other guys but he is one I would take a look at trying to trade for.

Ok I need some help trying to decide if this is a fair trade

Dodgers trade SP Clayton Kershaw, CF Reed Johnson, and RP Ronald Belisario to the Nationals for SP Stephen Strasburg and C Derek Norris

So on the game Strasburg and Kershaw are rated almost identical, are both 22, and A potential. It looks on the game as a bit of a wash, save for the salary. Having faced them both, I would much rather bat against Strasburg than Kershaw. So the real question then becomes the Derek Norris for Reed Johnson and Ronald Belisario. I usually just let whatever trade happens, happen. But this one has got me wondering. Any thoughts?

Dunn is available, and Carlos Lee might be worth a look. He's slow, but hits well, and might be a great DH.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think his contract is quite as outrageous in the game as IRL.

Than again, you're the Yankees. Since when had big money been a deterrent

I would probably veto that one, Only because Strasburg is 1 year into his Nationals career and thus pretty much untouchable. I guess it depends on whether or not you view the Cyber Straburg as inherently valuable to the Nats or just a high quality minor league prospect. What's his contract like?

In the context of the game and game only, it probably makes sense.

Im thinking Dunn would be a good add if I was contending... right now I am.. hah, but it's still early and the M's weak bullpen and soft lineup will surely show true to form eventually in the season...
