Pedro Feliciano has always been nails for me in every game I've used him in. I've also found Kiko Calero to be pretty reliable for me, depending on the rosters you started your franchise with, he might be a free agent, and I signed him for about 3 million so he's a nice cheap option.

He doesn't have any power though and his trade value is nil, so keeping him doesn't cost me anything. Sweeney and Swisher each want at least 1.8 mil. Barton wants 4. I would like to keep him, but there really isn't much he can do. He is holding his own at 2nd, and he can also play catcher so perhaps he could be my backup catcher/1B/2B. Then I wouldn't need to bring up Fox. Hmmmm, is 4 mil too much to pay for a utility guy and backup catcher?
I think that's a bit too much for a back up player especially when a player of his caliber could be an everyday starter. Plus we are used to the beane ball where over paying is NOT allowed lol.

I agree, although this is not Money ball. Beane is gone and I am the GM. We have a new owner that has the old man Haas philosophy on baseball. I am still not going to overpay, but I am planning on fielding a good team and not rebuilding for 4 straight years.

Well I had a couple of injuries that have forced me to make some minor moves. Josh Outman tore something in his shoulder and will be out at least 3-4 weeks. I was considering bringing Mazzaro back up, but he is not playing much better in AAA than he was in the majors. So I went out and got Bonderman from free agency for a one year $1.4 mil deal. I figured if it didn't work out I could always DFA him when Outman comes back. It actually cost me more than I thought because I ended up losing Clayton Mortenson to Boston from Waivers. Two games later, Braden went out early in the second to an arm sprain, so Bonderman got the call and pitched 5 solid innings only giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 3. Not too bad. Braden is out for 1-2 weeks, so I had to bring up Mazzaro after all.

My team is starting to look like a reunion of former A's players. I now have Pena, Swisher, and Bonderman. If only I can get Ethier back.

Just posted about this in the Franchise progress thread however, I'm the Indians and am .5 games up on the Twins, yet I'm only 15-15 and wanna get one more big name player...Jose Reyes is on the trade block and Cabrera and Valbuena are not gonna cut it if i want to make the playoffs...Can you guys help me out on a realistic package to send to the Mets...the only players I won't give up are Sizemore, Santana, and LaPorta.

As a Mets fan, I'd probably say a deal like Hagadone, Jason Donald(so the Mets have a SS prospect in return), and Carrasco/Knapp would be pretty fair in the game, or instead of Donald you could do Asdrubal as the replacement SS, I just think it's more realistic to do Donald because he's a prospect.

Ok so I am looking for a good switch hitter to add to my lineup, either at 3rd or any of the outfield spots. I am playing as the Rockies and I really dont care for Ian Stewart that much. Any suggestions??

                  Mark DeRosa.

Picked him up off of waivers in year 2 and he's hitting .300 with 8 homers and 45 RBI thru August.

Is this a fair trade for both teams and not just one? The Yankees offered the Indians Posada and Mitre for Carlos Santana. I know that Santana is young and a force to come, but the Indians get a top catcher and a solid number 3 pitcher which they need. So what do you think should I let this trade go through in my franchise?

                      Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**

I'm a proponent of letting everything go through in franchise, as weird deals often occur in baseball(keep in mind, Carlos Santana came to the Indians in the Casey Blake deal. Love Casey's beard, but if someone came here saying they traded Blake for Santana, everyone would say deny it because "no way it happens", so value sometimes will be lopsided).
But looking at that deal logically, I'd let it go through UNLESS the Indians are completely out of the race. But then again, the Mariners got Russell Branyan yesterday even when they're "done", so again, I dig allowing anything, but you have a gripe if they're in last place.

2010 30 Team season, OS minors V3. What trades should I make??

OK guys, on my season there are some teams struggling and might not make the playoffs, some of them good teams, and is time to make some changes, I need help to try and stay as close and true to the real life. here are the teams.

                        in the AL W-L
                        Orioles 31 43
                        Jays 33-42
                        Royals 27-48
                        Tigers 31-44
                        Angels 28-48
                        Rangers 34-48

My surprise here are the Tigers and Angels, they just cant buy a win, Angels pitching had been worst than bad, Jared Weaver had not gotten a win as of today( I Sim and Play at the same time as real life) and kazmir had been the same, Aybar had been cold all year. and the Tigers, well Jackson is struggling at CF hitting around .220, Inge had been send down after batting .189 all yr. mags is around .225. pitching had been bad also I traded dontrell to Arizona like in real life, he is 3-0 over there, here was 2 and 4 I think.

                        in the NL W-L
                        Mets 30-44
                        Marlins 30-45
                        Astros 23-52
                        Pirates 29-45
                        Brewcrew 33-41
                        Giants 33-40
                        Rockies 35-40

again here the Mets are a surprise, Maine and Perez are on AAA after stinking up the joint, they are pitching better there but not sure if i should call them back. and rockis are also not hitting at all.

I have control of all 30 teams and using perfect sliders V3. what trades you guys think I should make for this teams??

Saw a weird trade offer to the Royals last night...The mets wanted to trade a D potential pitcher for Andruw Jones, David Dejesus, and a B potential minor leaguer. I had to reject this trade.

McClellan got injured in my last game, so now I'm looking to make a trade for a right handed reliever. I want to trade Rich Hill, who is a B potential, and I believe C overall. I need someone who can step in right away and fill the hole McClellan is leaving. Ideas?

I say no and this isnt just because im an Indians fan haha maybe some of it but you look at it Posada could retire after the season and the Indians really arent short on pitching imo they have youngsters ready in the minors so i would say no but if it was montero and mitre for santana i would say yes

I've been thinking about a cure to this kinda stuff.
I have ZERO experience with 30 team control, but I'm pretty sure you can step in and do things.
Here's my idea. On a trade you guys think may be unrealistic, pick a main player in the deal. Like with the Posada deal, go into the trade screen and rather than give up Santana and get burned if Posada retires after the year, replace Santana with a guy like Jordan Brown(I'm not an expert on Indians prospects, I just know he's an Indians prospect), and make the deal more realistic. This way the CPU still gets a player they desire(I know, I'm giving the CPU humanistic characteristics feeling bad for them "wasting their time offering" or something), and it keeps player movement "in line". Like for a Pujols/Webb swap(that happened in mine), take out Pujols, but have the Cardinals still acquire Webb, just do prospects instead or something.

that might actually work and it makes sense. And on the Jordan Brown piece coming from a hardcore Indians fan hes a prospect that is good but cant get healthy but nice put in plays leftfield so who knows maybe they would take him
