Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.

A question for those who have been following the Show series for a number of But before that, he hadn't hit more than 16 in a season and was pretty much a glorified utility man. In MLB 11 will he be rated as one of the league's premiere power hitters (which he was last year)? Or will he be rated more as an above-average journeyman (which he was for most of his career)?? Or somewhere in between?

I'm curious about cases like his, and others. I know playing MLB 10 I edited his power stats way up as the season progressed to bring him more in line with what he was doing that season. Anyway, any insight would be great.

For the online leagues is there an option to have cpu controlled teams in the schedule like a madden online franchise.

        Yes.

You can have it so it is just you with 29 CPU teams.

Or any combination of player controlled and CPU.

No...not the same as last year. They added the BA to the lineup screen.....as it was in '09. They do not go down the lineup or highlight anyone though.

rip...I think you're missing some of your post.

Hmm you're right Knight, let's try again:

Are players rated based on last season, a compilation of their entire career, or something else?

Either way it's missing what I liked about the starting lineups/batting order when Matt V went down the entire line up. I loved that part, but I can see where some would say it got stale after so many games. I didn't care though, I listened to it every game. But whatevs, won't ruin anything not being there.

I would like to see cycling lineup intros. Maybe 3 different styles that randomly changed from game to game to keep things fresh.

I'm in...make it five.....At least a different one for every game in the series...and possibly not see the all same ones in consecutive series.

rip....he's going to be like every other player. 3 year average weighted with his last season as the "heaviest" in the mix. That's the way they've always done it..and will always do it. It really is the best way. Just about any guy doing rosters will take a 3 year average.(unless of course he's recreating a SPECIFIC season.)

Can we edit SCEA players this year? (Sorry if this has been asked already btw). As in, last year Jayson werth didn't have his beard in the game, and I couldn't edit his facial hair either so he was stuck clean shaven

Those guys are not created with the same in game editor(like gen players)....and some don't "line up" correctly if brought in there.(I'm really simplifying it here).....so they just have them as unable to edit.

I seem to recall hearing they look at the past 3 years to collect a players ratings. Though they could weight last year more than 3 years a go. In Bautistas case, I don't know.

Edit: I see Knight already answered you, and probably did a better job of it.
