Indeed audio is a difficult thing to do. Plus there is always a constant fight for memory in the development side of things. It is getting there, and I can tell they want to focus on it really hard.
As for last name, something came up where they could not add any from the list taken last year, even mine is not in it
But they did assure us they will be adding them next year!

One of these days computer generated voices will be good enough to the point where you could record one person's speech just saying a few different phrases and the computer can then generate any speech available. This way, developers could take some small voice recordings, throw it into the speech synthesizer, feed the computer some lines with notations about emphasis, and the computer would be able to go ahead and create the speech. This would allow developers to really be able to do anything with the speech in a game. Maybe even in future consoles, the processors would be powerful enough that the game would be able to generate the speech on the fly and the devs would only need to put the script in the game. The end-user could then generate their own scripts with pronunciation for things like player names, umpire names, etc. Ahhhh, the dreams of the future.
I'm just hoping that this year my last name was able to make it in there with regards to the audio. I know I submitted it last year, but didn't really follow-up on it this year. My last name is pronounced nothing like it is spelled, and is also incredibly uncommon, so I'm not really expecting it and won't be disappointed if it's not in there. (With my last name, if somebody else has it they are 100% definitely related to me. It's because way back when my great-grandparents emigrated over here from Lithuania their Lithuanian name was butchered in the spelling over at Ellis Island so anybody in the world with my last name spelled the same way is indeed a relative of mine).

Thats awesome, even if its only a little better i am happy they even listen to what we have to say it gives me great hope for possibly this year but definitely next aswell. Im still excited to play this years game again with my brother so i can blame losses on him and not the computer players on my team

Man, I can't wait for this year's game, but everything I'm hearing that's been done for a foundation for next year's game is making me wish 2012 would hurry up and get here!
