There is so much improvement with the game, but this fact has kept me from buying a PS3 for another year. Iwas initally excited and considered going with the Show when I heard about the weather effects. However,it just wouldn't look right raining with a dome, or with the domes being open ALL the time even in cold weather. I cant think of too many more things this game needs to be perfect IMHO.
I spent a lot of time with The Show 11 and Russell at CES, impressions inside.

What happens when the roofs malfunction during a light rain?
Cancelled?
I spoke to the lead graphics dev yesterday to speak of being able to edit hair and facial hair on real players...and now know why as of right now...they don't have it in for us.
The generated players...are built from the in game editor.
While it is a little like the kit the artists use to do the real faces...obviously the one they use for the real players is much more involved...and the layers are also.
Those players probably would not line up correctly if "plugged in" to the editor and it would cause problems(and make for some ugly pics I would say.)

Quick question in RTTS can u pick your own uniforms instead of the computer doing it auto. And do the rangers have those ugly red and blue helemets in the game never understood why those were in 10 because they have never wore them ever.

A lot of good things happening to the game. But in the end there is too much with 10 to do still for me and too much done to it (rosters) that there is no real way I will even play 11. I doubt that the Twins new stuff is going to get in even though there have been vids and pointers in the stadium thread for months and I don' t feel like playing in a stadium that doesn't look right again just to have it look right the year after.
It did look nice in 10 so I have no problem staying with that as I am mostly franchise not to mention I spent so much time modifying those rosters. I don't think I can bear to see pitchers without their correct breaks and pitches again lol. These guys really need to get on the ball about pitcher editing and giving these guys the correct pitches and breaks and control ratings as well as speed while were at it. Then there would only be a need to redo the minor leagues and all would be well with the MLB, assuming they do batters well. I just cannot get over how dry franchise is, either. One small cutscene for the world series. It just doesn't seem right. As well the animations I am anxious to see if the infield has gotten anything new. The same old SS animations get old pretty quick. Catcher def needs a few, and if Mauer is on the cover I would assume they can afford to have a few more, and outfielders need some tweaking as far as throwing and catching. I am sure these things are brought up so with 12 I hope they are in. If they are this year all the better then.
I am also looking forward to new gear though it is not huge on my list. It seems this year was mainly to get that casual crowd coming back while tweaking and bettering some of the things that should have been in 10 but were not included for one reason or another. I really hope the team is listening to those stadium updates though as we have made them available. All in all it looks like a decent update but for many of us it just isn't worth it and that is okay. Every year is a bit much for a lot of people. I know that 12 will be smoking when it hits.Last edited by khronikos; 01-14-2011, 11:14 AM.Comment

I think we should petition all the teams with retractable roofs to get rid of the retractable roofs, that way The Show will be accurate and the devs won't have to build the new stadium models. Do you all think it would work?Comment

Geez, don't be such a Debbie Downer.Did you see where EN posted that changes were made to Target Field? May not be everything to your liking, but it did get some love.

I know not everyone can afford (either monatary or time invested) to get the new version of the show every year but why do you have to tell us? Why do people have to go out of their way to tell us why they arent gonna play it? Are you looking for someone to convince you to buy it or a dev will be like "I need that guy to buy it, we should change the game for him..." your input is valid as anyone elses if you want something changed but people that just post..Im not buying it this year just because seems like they want to spoil the party...there is certainly enough new things to warrant an upgrade so if its not for you cool...but people make it sound like they dont change enough from year to year...My impression is if you are a RTTS guy get it this year..if your a franchise player get it next year..and then in 2013 back to RTTS and so on...so maybe the alteranting year players can have a handele on when to spend their money...as for me..its an EVERY year thing...Comment

Every minor detail from the new tower, scoreboards, chain curtain, trees, out of town boards, glass protective railings in front of the fans in the stands, limestone on top of the dugouts, the list goes on. My jaw hit the ground on how much was packed into that stadium this year. It truly looks alive now.
'10 has gone back in the case and on my shelf. Never touching it again. I loved the game, but man, '11 just brought it all to a whole new level.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

To piggy back on this, Target Field made my "jaw hit the ground". That is how good it is.

- EN, are we seeing this type of detail in each stadium, or is it just this one particular artist that was fine tuning certian stadiums? I know you said that they have updated them all but the level of detail sounds awesome, just wondering if its a selct few or if we will see this type of thing across the board.
ThanksⓋ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

- Very cool, I noticed from some of the CES vids that the stadiums looked bigger. Hard to explain but when I saw Fenway, it was like the stands and the structure of the stadium were larger and played a much bigger role in the presence of the stadium. May be completely off, but that seemed to be a difference that I saw.Comment
