Really? So they releasing a baseball graphic controller that does nothing different then the one you already have is not trying to profit from the popularity of the show.

I have zero issues with SCEA doing this because they are a business.

But what I am saying is that those that say that COD or any other game that releases content for 10-15 dollars and get blasted. But then go and buy a $55 controller that they claim they do not need but they buy it because they are fans of baseball. LOL

So SCEA just made about $120 on one game but COD or any other game makes $60 for the game and 15 for the map pack that brings a newness to the game unlike a controller with a baseball graphic.

If Madden 12 comes out with a controller for $55 next year along with the release of the game. Will people not bash them?

I think your lumping the too groups together unfairly. I've never once complained ever about prices on anything that is video game related. As far as I'm concerned this is a luxury item that shouldn't be purchased unless one can afford it.

I think most of the price complaints likely come from college and high school students, and rightly so, as I was there once too.

Now, I understand your point, I'm just not sure this is the proper place to vent your thought.

There are sites out there, that I am sure complain about the controller...

And I think the complaint for the "map packs" is the fact they charge you 1/4 of the price of an entire game, for 3 maps total. In which at one time, in the PC gaming realm, this stuff was free, and a reward for purchasing the game. Then MSFT comes along with the DLC push, and now such luxuries and loyalty rewards no longer exist.

Controllers, different colors, themes, etc were never free.

DLC you need the game to play it.
I don't need to buy The Show to use the controller....

Where can I buy/pre-order this controller? I actually do need another controller, and since the only games I own for PS3 are MLB The Show 08-10, I might as well get the controller that goes with the games.

I searched the Best Buy website and couldn't find it (ideally I would like to get it there, since I have a bunch of store credits that I would like to spend).

I pre-ordered mine the day they were announced. I am first at my local store for the controller and The Show. As I walked in the manager laughed and said that he knew I was coming in today when he saw the Show pop on his computer for pre order's.

I won't be getting the controller, I may get that skin though, it looks cooler to me than the controller. $55 is way over priced for a controller, those things should be like $20 and any special edition ones like this maybe $30. I had to give in and buy an extra one so I could play with friends out of neccessity, but spending that much money on something that shouldnt be that expensive in the first place when you already have perfectly good ones is just plain nuts LOL!

I would like one, but there's no way I'm paying $50+ for it. There's too much stuff around the house that needs fixed up before I go in on that.

The controller is the same price as a regular controller except its cooler
I bought a PS3 for 599.99 so it wont bother me to spend a normal price on controller. Dont know what their overhead is but im sure 20.00 is a tad to cheap for them to sell them for.
So if someone has the $ and they want to grab it up they arent nuts, but rather getting something they want.
