Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
You basically answered your own question. In order to swing you need to stride first otherwise it is cued up to be a bunt.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I'm having an issue with analog pitching. I can't seem to get him to throw soft, or slower to get better location. My guys is always throwing hard and nothing throwing where I tell him to.
The reason I can't pitch slow is because when I try to move my analog stick up to pich, I do it too slowly and the game doesn't read it. Anybody else have a problem finding out how fast/slow you should push the R analog stick up?"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed"

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Pardon me, as I am still confused on my stride question. I now understand that every batters stride is different, however I check my swing analysis after a miss and the PCI is usually very small, but sometimes it is big. I am guessing that it is because my timing was bad that the PCI shrinks. My question is, should my stride be timed with anticipating when the hitters front foot will hit the ground when the ball is in the hit zone? Is there any way to tell if your stride was timed right? Also I see in the swing analysis when I do not swing, there is a section that says release, what is that? I. Play with analog hitting on legend difficulty.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Ramone, thanks for clarifying, I was so confused because there's an error in the controls section of the demo. The interface states that both guess pitch and ball influence are done via R2+L, so I wondered how would I guess low and influence a fly ball at the same time?R2 for swing influence and guess pitch. What I like to do is initiate a practice swing by pressing up on the right analog stick. During the animation hold R2 and point the R-Stick in the direction you want to influence. You will feel a slight rumble letting you know its done correctly

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
For analog and timing only hitting that is true. When batting on analog you control how fluid your stride and swing are, and how well you are able to time you swing with the pitch. In addition to that, you can locate your swing by moving the right stick up left, up center, or up right as a way to determine what third of the plate the pci will move toward. Now, more than everComment

Re: can you still use the R stick to tell your runners which base to go to?
Yes that is correct the L stick cues them but the R stick told them what base to advance too... Does this still work?Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
In MLB 10' there was a guess pitch option where you did not have to guess location. But I couldn't find it in the demo for MLB 11'. Has anybody found it? Last year it was Rookie, and 1/6.Comment

I believe part of the reason you see a large or small PCI for the same hitter is also if the batter is using contact, normal, or power swing.Pardon me, as I am still confused on my stride question. Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
This is correct especially with the contact swing. Depending on the batter the PCI will shrink accordingly and if you stride too long it will shrink even further. In some instances the PCI can be the size of a pea.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

The players VIS and DISC will also play a part in the PCI size I believe.

Thank you everyone for helping me out. I truely believe that the shows version of analog hitting replicates hitting in real life the best, it is a beautiful thing to experience and will enhance the game exponentially. Great job devsComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
This may have been asked but these posts have become so long I simply dont have time to search..But Im gonna assume the graphics are dulled down a bit because its a demo?..If I remember correctly, the 09 demo graphics werent great, but retail I dont remember having an issue..Im not talking about lighting, but more so jaggies, and the fans behind home plate..Other videos Ive watched look better than than gameplay in the demo. ThanksComment
