Hey Nem can you tell me if striding up before the pitch will have a negative result? Ala MVP Ncaa baseball when you would load up before the pitch and then swing it would be weakly hit.PSN - SwangKang169

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Its red in the end, but i have tapped it, i have held it, etc, etc and i always overthrow it. I just don't understand what i am doing wrong. What color is coming up on the accuracy ring? I would assume it is red. Just because the throw is in line but over the players head does not mean you are close in accuracy. Also a throw offline to the left or right of a player does not necessarily mean you were off to the left or right of the accuracy point. The meter determines overall accuracy not necessarily direction of the throw (left, right, high, low). There are behind the scenes calculations going on to determine the overall outcome with the fielders rating being a driving force.
I should say- i generally overthrow it.Last edited by dkrause1971; 02-23-2011, 01:37 PM.Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

Yes, if you cheat it and stride too early your PCI will shrink and your contact will not be as good!
With that post I celebrate number 10,000!!!!

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Has anybody else saw someone walk up to the plate with two bats in hand?
I just struck out Josh Hamilton and it went into a cutscene of him walking back to the dugout. When Adrian Beltre walk passed him and up to the plate he had two bats in his hand.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
1) how do I get the glowing light under the fielding thats under a pop up to make a catch?
2) is there a way to get off of power swing square and contact swing circle and just hit with one button? (tried the analog; couldnt get the hang of it)
3) i cant find a way to turn this off but the sound effect every time you select a pitch type, make a pitch, etc. it is annoying and hopefully when the game comes out we can turn it off.
if you dont know what I mean when your pitching hit R2 to get the catcher to give you the sign again and you will hear it.
other than these 3 things I LOVE the demo!!!Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Is there no option for "Manual" fielding?
I remember reading that this year we'd have the option to do full manual (unassisted) fielding, where the fielders wouldn't take the first few steps towards the ball. All I see is Assisted or Auto.
On a blooper to the outfield, I took my hands off the controller and the fielder automatically jogged about 10 feet to his left, lined up for the ball, and fielded it cleanly. This was on Assisted, not Auto... I didn't even have to touch anything and my fielder did it all (except throwing) for me. Is this a demo-only thing, and we'll have a Full Manual fielding option in the full game?"60% of the time, it works every time."Comment

THIS! It sounds just about everytime you hit the x button. Kind of an airy confirming noise. It is annoying!Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
It means that you are off point from the perfect accuracy point. So if you are throwing towards first you would need to move it perfectly East. Varying degrees from East (up or down) will result in a yellow or red indicator based how far off your input is.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

The unassisted was for RTTS. It did not make it in for regular play. Assisted will be as close as you get to manual for 11.Is there no option for "Manual" fielding?

It would be...if it was the ninth.
I don't think they actually change the game to think it was the ninth...just to have it end in the 4th if someone was ahead.

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I know the sliders are available for modifications in the demo, but is anyone else out there playing all HOF with default sliders? My last 4 games (as TX):
W 2-1
W 4-0
L 0-2
L 1-2 (in 6 innings)
Average about 1 error per game
Team batting average is ~.265
In those games 2 HR, one per team.
Also, does each player have a different duration in their shuffle step when pulling back the Rstick?
If so, this really messes up your timing from batter to batter, haven't played enough to really tell though. But, for example: Josh Hamilton's shuffle step seems wayyyy longer than Kinsler's.Comment
