ok, this ahs always irked me, but, why for player contracts in franchise mode are players almost always on 1 year deals? I saw in the 40 man preview screens that half the yankess team had anywhere from 1-7 year deals but then when i look at the piartes every single player has a 1 year contract. I undertsand they cant put in the exact terms of a contract but why does a majority of the players have to have 1 year contracts to start off?

Now no one please say, oh its the pirates who cares. Well thats the thing, alot of people do, they just might not be here. Thsi can really hurt franchises early on as you only have so much money to start with and you have to try to turn a profit as it is.

I honestly dont understand why it has been like this for awhile, maybe im missing something so if someone could fill me in, thanks.

the smaller teams dont get much love from scea. in watching the live stream last night most of mariners batting stances remain unchanged. ichiros is horrible!

Almost positive it was a 1 or 1:05 PM start in the game. It's also a 1:05 PM start in real life.

the Yankees website says the 3/31 game is a 1:05 start, the next game is a 4pm'er. on 4/1. I typed 3/1 by mistake, sorry

I just cross-referenced the first page (screenshot) of the Pirates roster with the actual contracts - and everything checked out.
Each player with one year remaining is true to real life. (sorry I wasn't motivated enough to check all 40 lol)

It may look like a lot of 1/1's....but I think people forget (or may not realize) some of those guys are still under the teams control after the season. I'd imagine in the case of a team like the Pirates the majority of players may have less than 6 years experience (or is it 5 until FA?) - so you can either tender them at the end of the year or offer arbitration if applicable. From what I recall the majority of guys without enough service to become FA's simply get the 1/1 tag in terms of contract.

Could someone who has the game list all the weather options available for an exhibition game?

i.e. day/night/cloudy/sunny/rain etc?

I use RT w/ replay, so I was wondering...

1) Will I be missing out on the 'celebration' of NLCS, etc since I don't use "broadcast" presentation?

2) Will I be also missing the NEW "pitch sequence" in this years game - where they go through an ENTIRE pitch sequence (at-bat) instead of just one pitch at times.

Anyone??

Yes, will have a roster update after you install the game. Online is down now, but I was prompted when starting the game if I wanted to download the latest roster update.

I downloaded it but failed to see any changes to the rosters. Vlad was still a free agent.

I've only been prompted once to download.

Day/Night
Sunny, partly cloud, overcast, or rain

You can also choose the number of innings you want to play.

Nope.

The only way to do this is to release the player prior to going into franchise mode, and then re-signing him.

Please, please, please tell me there is an option to have retractable roof stadiums like the rogers centre either open or closed. If they did not put this in the game I will be extremely disappointed.
