Great, I'm on the Oakland A's.

Anyways, my pitching RttS: My ace all-99's pitcher is now on the Jays by virtue of a trade. I can't stand it, the defense is horrible, awful, terrible, bad, despicable. They can't catch or throw to save their lives. Errors, misplays, failed leaps. Combined with the turf and I'm begging for a trade.

Is starting off as a hitter supposed to be this frustratingly tough? I've always been a pitcher but decided to start another RTTS as a hitter and I can't get any training points. I'm about one month into my first season in AA and I've started about 7 games. I can't get a hit to save my life. I'm 5/24 on the season with just 1 RBI, 3 K's, and two 2Bs.

Even when I feel like I made decent contact my contact and power ratings are just too low for it to be anything more than a weak line-drive out to an in-fielder. My five hits have been pretty weak bloop hits. The two doubles were even weak as I just pulled a ground ball down the line and into the corner.

Does anyone have any tips on how to approach the game in the early stages as a hitter when your ratings are so low?

Had the same issue starting out with my speedster CF. Just be patient at the plate. That's pretty much the only tool you got until you get full playing time to earn some points. Take pitches, never ever swing at the first pitch. Pretty much scrape by any points you can.

Which camera view are you using?? I know many of us have found that if you set the offset camera view to the inside of your batter it makes the ball easier to see and more hittable and you lay off more ball pitches.

I was finally called up to AAA in my RTTS CF. After being in AA with the Rays till almost the end of July, they completed a trade which traded some players from their MLB team which freed up spot on the AAA squad because they had to call some guys up. Hopefully I can do well enough and not be in AAA long but we will see. Just ready to be in the bigs.

Not that one. I'll give it a try. I'm making pretty consistent and what feels like solid contact. But even the pitches I make good contact on end up being some of the weakest line-drives I've ever seen.

ugh I want to get traded so badly lol I'm tired of seeing my team either get clobbered or be winning then come to bat in the 8th or 9th suddenly losing after giving up 5 or 6 runs. What makes it even worse is our pitching staff is dead last in ERA..... but number 1 in strikeouts

My ss is batting around 270 in the last 10 games with 10 or so hits. The funny thing is 8 of those 10 hits are homers lol. I'll gladly take a sub 300 average if every hit I get is a homer.

Some more help...what about hitting interface? What have you all found to be more hitter friendly? Zone, analog, or timing?

I know it's mostly personal preference, but just wanting to see if there's a majority.

Finally had my first real good game. I got inserted into the starting lineup a few games ago, and it paid off in this last game. I went 2/4 with a two-run homer, and a bases-loaded double that cleared the bases for a 5 RBI game. Currently hitting 10/33 (.303) with 1 HR, 6 RBI, and 6 2B one month into the season for the Mississippi Braves.

After a year in AA and a year in AAA I was offered the starting LF job as a 20 year old for the San Francisco Giants. I have 70 contact ratings and 63 power for both sides. I am a 4 tool player with a decent glove and arm and will improve those heavily once I get my power and contact ratings into the 80s. My first game as a SF Giant I went 1-4 with a HR and a BB after faring very well in Spring Training with an approximately .280/.380/.450 slash line. Hopefully this season I can hit about 20-30 HRs and keep my OBP above .350 while contending for the ROY and a Playoff Berth. I can't believe I am batting 4th on this team though, their offense really is bad but the pitching rotation is amazing. Brian Wilson got traded to Atlanta for Kimbrel and an A potential SS who is starting and GG defensive ratings. Should be a fun year.

So my pitcher is now all-99's on all fielding and pitching and baserunning stats. Now working up the hitting and bunting attributes. Leading the league in ERA as usual, no thanks to the Blue Jays defense. The clown car outfield turns outfield singles into triples and doubles almost constantly. Hanley Ramirez and Brandon Phillips are absolute butchers in the infield. I know how Zack Greinke must feel this year with the Brewers defense behind him. And I don't suppose this infield hit thing will be fixed for next year? Every single bunt laid down against me is *perfect* regardless who does it. All my fielding attributes being maxed out doesn't help, as my pitcher still jogs over to the ball, slowly picks it up and lobs it to 1B.

I've given into the fact that almost every bunt and almost every weak dribbler or ground ball is going to be an infield single because every single defensive player will jog pause for a second and then semi-casually make their way to the ball.

They just need to make the results of bunts more realistic. Even when I get the whole pre-loading the throw thing right anybody and everybody still easily beats out the throw. The problem is that 99.99% of bunts laid down by the CPU are *perfect.* They go down the 3B line and stop at the exact perfect distance where catcher, pitcher and third-baseman would almost meet up. There's no "failed" bunts where...actually yeah those are usually hits, too.

So here's my pitcher: John Doe. I've been playing this one a lot more past week. This mysterious young ace dominates the league yearly and is on pace for 250+ IP and 300+ strikeouts again. Also, the Blue Jays are 102-38 as of this writing in this particular season. You read that record right folks. Behind John Doe are Justin Verlander and Jered Weaver in the rotation, backed up by a prolific offense (and horrible defense).

Here's a full Rogers Centre as Matt Weiters sees his life flash before his eyes:
                                <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Kp_lv0udNnE?hl=en&fs=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And here's the defense I have to put up with in every game. Hanley Ramirez at SS, Brett Lawrie at 3B and Brandon Phillips at 2B. Absolute nightmare. They catch nothing, they make errors if they get to it.
