I'm not just the best hitter on the team, I had a triple crown going, even though it was early in the season, but still really? Didn't get called back up until the end of June and ... then I sit on the bench? So I play about once a week, then I tell the manager I want to start so I would play in two games then sit another week. So mid-September, I'm hitting .350 30HR 50RBI in 220 AB, and I get sent down to AAA again, because Columbus made the playoffs, so I led them to the AAA championship batting .350 2HR 9RBI in the playoffs. When the playoffs ended, I was called back up and surprise, I'm on the bench with a week to go.

I hate the AI in this game. Besides all the other stuff, I was demoted to the bench in the middle of an advancement period for no reason, then my goal is to get X hits. So my manager doesn't play me the remain 5-7 days of the advancement period so I fail to reach the goal.

When my 6 years are up, I am without a doubt taking my talents to South Beach too.
LMFAO... I don't think playing for the Marlins is the same as playing for the Heat... were you failing goals early in the season? Sucks that they demoted you and played with your career like that...I hope the Nationals don't do me dirty like that... I spent my first year in AA/AAA and will start season two as the starting 1B in AAA... won the International League Championship but lost the Triple-A National Championship Game... I'm still pissed that I made the MLB Futures Game but not the Double-A All-Star Game in my first year... I don't know about tonight but I'm thinking I'll be able to get some games in tomorrow

actually when you are a starting pitcher or closer you will only be that unless you aren't placed in those roles by your manager but you will not be able to change from one to the other... the secondary position for pitchers are fielding positions, no P positions are listed under secondary position

That's the thing, I didn't fail a single advancement thing, they just demoted me with no warning.

One final question... was it a straight promotion or was it an injury promotion?

To piggy back on his question, what are your ratings, what does your player card rate you (A, B, C, etc?), and what was your organizational ranking?

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Man, I got steamed last night. Was playing for the AAA national championship (is that truly on a 1 game series?), and had a pretty good game, 3 for 4 going into the 9th inning, with a single, double, and triple - drove in 2 runs, scored 1 so far. Team was down 6-4, with 1 out, runners at 1st and 3rd. Had thoughts of trying for a homer to complete the cycle and win the game in a walkoff, but my guy isn't a power threat, so I stuck to the game plan. Slapped a ball to the SS's right on a 1-2 count, and beat the relay to 1st, runner from 3rd scored. So now it's 6-5, 2 outs and I'm on 1st. I was going to watch the pitcher for a couple of pitches to see his move and then try to steal, but on the 2nd pitch, the batter grounds one to 2nd. I'm running, thinking "game over", but then I hear the announcer say "he threw it away!". I round 2nd and pull in at 3rd, the batter follows me - watched the replay and the guy threw it over the 1B's head, ball bounced around back behind home, but I had no chance of scoring on it.

So, the winning run is on 2nd, and the clean up hitter is at bat. But, he's quickly down 0-2. Next pitch is skipped by the catcher, all the way to the backstop and stops back there, so I take off, thinking I could at least tie the score and head for extras. Pitcher comes to take the throw from the catcher and I SLIDE THE WRONG WAY! Headfirst to the left, put me right into the pitcher for the tag to end the game. Had I slide to the right, I think I'd been safe (watched the replay a couple of times). I smacked the chair so hard both dogs jumped to their feet from a sound sleep.

So, my SS is done with his first season, and was offered a contract as the AAA starter, which I accepted. This is in the Astros organization, and they traded Keppinger to the Red Sox in August. After the offseason, I'm the #4 rated SS, with Angel Sanchez the starter (they didn't keep Barmes), and Manzella a backup on the big club. The guy at AA is a touch higher rated than me, but he's 28 or so, I didn't look at his potential but I need to get off to a good start so I can bump my numbers up better than him. They did keep Bill Hall, and the organization is weak at 2nd, but the next guy is Anderson Hernandez, who is significantly better rated than I am (although he's 29), so changing positions isn't really in the cards.

I am starting to dominate now that I FEEL the need to win, I got traded from the Royals who were awful (go figure) to the Cubs and im on fire to the point of really unrealistic numbers. 24 jacks and 490 avg in one month. (im on Veteran) funny how being on a team and trying to make a world series run can unconsiously motivate you

To go along with my Barry Bonds Jr (1B, power-hitting lefty, stance and bat of his father), I've created a slap-hitting SS by the name of Pablo Sanchez.

I'm actually a starting pitcher on the Royals right now... I came up in year 1 to the majors at the end of July and became a starter at the end of August... but from the looks of things I'll be starting year 2 in the bullpen which really frustrates me, to think we could've been rookie phenom teammates
