Does Arm Strength do anything for a pitcher? I always thought it only helped with defense, but my manager keeps including it as a advancement goal.

      Re: RTTS: Your pitchers pitches

      4SFB-94-98 MPH
      RFB-92-97 MPH
      Changeup-85 MPH
      Knuckleball-68-71 MPH
      12-6 Curvve-78-83 MPH

A lot of the time the fastballs are the out pitch, although the knuckleball and changeup get outs once in a while. I almost never see the 12-6 curve called.

I think it's just for fielding.

Is it harder to get a good at bat in the majors than it was in the minors? Seems like I can hit a double down the line, and still only get a "ok" at bat. Or a single back up the middle to knock in 2, I get an "ok" at bat. These are on the first pitch, but still seems like I was getting "good" at bats for these type in the minors.

You think that's bad? In my pitcher RttS, I got my pitcher's speed up to 99. When I bunt (as instructed by 3B coach) and am called out I get a "Good At-Bat" of 12 to 14 points. When my pitchers beats it out because of his speed he instead gets "OK At-Bat" worth 3 or 4 points. Idiocy.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

Okay, this is crazy. I created a LF and I was drafted by the Giants. I spent the first couple of weeks as a utility OF but played pretty regularly. I became the starting LF after my first evaluation period. I was playing pretty well batting .350 with a HR and 12 RBIs typically batting 5th or 6th.

In mid-June I was called up to AAA to start as they called up the regular LF to play in the majors. I was kind of disappointed as I was on course to make the AA All Star game. Anyway, I obviously didn't make the AAA All Star game as I was only in AAA about a week or so before the game so I didn't get any of the bonus points. I was doing pretty well in AAA again batting about .350 with 2 HRs and 10 or so RBIs. Just before the trade deadline the Giants traded CF Andres Torres and the Giants called me up to start in CF. My first three games were against the Reds and I struck out 5 times but I got my first hit in game 3 against Travis Woods. Bronson Arroyo made me look stupid at the plate as he kept throwing junk in the dirt and I kept swinging.

In my last game against Arizona I went 3 for 5 and my evaluation period ended as I completed all 4 of my goals with a .231 average with an RBI. As it turns out they are keeping as their starting CF. It's August now so there are two months left in the season so it'll be interesting to see how I'll finish up and whether or not they'll keep me on the squad or send me back to AAA.

My main attributes are primarily in the mid/high 40's with the exception of R & L contact which is in the mid 50's. Basically, I have no business being in the majors right now.

I have never made the majors in my first year much less in July of my first year. A couple interesting things of note, the Rockies are having a fire sale trying to trade Gonzalez, Jimemez, Street and Tulowitzki.

So my Reds SP finished up the 3rd year of RTTS. I had a great year as the Reds ace winning both the MVP and Cy Young with a 21-5 record. The Reds also had a good year as we beat the Rangers in the 2013 World Series. Then came the offseason-the Reds tried to lowball me with a 1 year 1.7 offer, but I stalled them in case I was eligible for arbitration. It turns out I was a Super Two with 2.137 years of service time. I asked for 12 million in arbitration, and was awarded that sum by the arbitrator. I'm really glad now the Reds called me up in May 2012 and that I turned down that 4 year deal.

So I'm absolutely massacring lefties now that I've gone all-left-handed batting. It's the oddest thing. I've been hitting something over .400 against them since making the switch, including two bomb home runs off sliders.

wow I think I just had my most entertaining at bat in a long time... my 1B RTTS player against the yankee's comes up in the 3rd inning score tied 2-2 and runners on the corners with 2 away. First pitch changeup just below center of the plate and I crushed it to left with the animation looking like it was a gone but it curved left of the foul pole. Second pitch, fastball down and in crushed to right.... curves right of the foul pole. third pitch, fastball away this time hit a home run 397 ft to right center field lol.... it's like that at bat was destined for a home run ball.

The last month of the season was like dying a slow death. The Giants benched me and only had a few pinch hit opportunities. They then sent me back down to AAA Fresno at the end of August...only to be called back up a week later after they traded Pat Burrell, but once again only as a bench player. I spent all of September pinch hitting every few days. I never had the chance to improve during the last 6 weeks of the season, it sucked. I finished up batting .231 1 HR 6 RBIs in 54 ABs.

I ended up re-signing with the Giants in the off season for $435,000 as the AAA starting LF. Season 2 is about to begin.

What have you guys found being the most successful set-up for a hitter, when it comes to the three-meters? I want my guy to be a power hitter but I feel like I never can reach base if I jack his power. Any ideas?

I've had a lot of success so far going equal in contact and power. I try to everytime I get a spare 100 or so points put it all in con r, then con l, then pwr r.... etc down the list and like every second set of doing that make sure to put some in clt.

im in year 3 of my RTTS and my stats are at

                            Con L - 79
                            Con R - 78
                            Pow L - 77
                            Pow R - 77
                            Clt - 74

and my stats so far this season 175 AB, 70 Hits, 17 HR, 42 RBI, 400 AVG,

I used to think it was only for fielding, but I saw a couple of things that changed my mind. My manager keeps listing it as an advancement goal once I got the pitching attributes up, and my velocity description changed after I increased Arm Strength a lot. So now I think it has a marginal effect on velocity.
