Really this advice would apply to any of those methods though:
    1. Change the level you are playing at to make it easier in the beginning and up the level when you become dominant. (Rookie, Veteren, etc)
    2. Change the sliders to make yourself a better hitter (contact, poer, timing, solid hits) and lower the pitching sliders to make it easier for you. You can change them all back as you get better/confident.
    3. The biggest thing for me was to pay attention to the pitchers throwing hand/arm through the windup so I could begin to recognize when a ball or strike was coming and what type (I still swing at borderline pitches though).
    4. If none of this works, adjust the camera to help you see the ball better.
I am using Analog. I want to play this game pure analog as I feel it is more immersive than just hitting a button.

I will try the sliders. I adjusted them for my pitcher when I first started out but they didn't seem to have any effect on whether I was better or worse. Granted, I was dominant then and now that I jacked them back up with every game being a 1 run game or a shutout, I am still dominant.

Maybe they work better for hitting, though? I will give it a shot.

Re: The big secret to hitting?

just 2 or 3 games for now (3 or 4 hitter every time so far)

150ab at 4ab a game is about 37 games which would take a bit more (but not much) than 45 days.

i guess as long as the injury is done before 45 days AND i get send down afterwards I'll be ok. I'd i dont get domoted when the MLB player comes back i'm screwed.

Does the game usually demote you back if you're an injury callup no matter what?

try using one of those offset camera angles from that large thread, has helped me especailly seeing stuff thats obviously outside. i'm not even check swinging on those now they're so obvious.

you can also really tee off on inside stuff if you're sitting on it.

i personally use 0 pitch speed as I'd like to try to read the pich and location rather than just gussing FB every time and swinging blindly when the red lights up. when i went from 5 to 0 pitch speed my stats didnt change much. i also lowered cput constancy and ball ratio to get more balls, still only draw 10 bb a season max but i'm a swining type of player. i do have like 5 bb in my last 10 games though.

final thing i did was lower fielder speed to 2 or 3. there is almost 0 bloop singles and liners to the short/mid gap or balls hit hard over of heads of the OF with the default fielder speed. with it at 2-3 you will see more doubles and more varied hits besides hard singles through the if and hr

        all just imo of course

That I do not know as I have yet to be an injury call up. But, my guess is that if you are playing well and tearing it up plus achieving your goals, they might keep you up there.

In R/L we have seen this many times. A AAA guy gets called up to cover and injury, goes on a tear and the club will keep him up there as long as he is playing well.

This would be a gamble but you could try to play crappy and see if they demote you out of spite.

Have you checked the Awards section to see if you are even in the running? You may be if you are lighting it up.

Good advice, guys, thanks!! I really want to be a great MLB catcher in RTTS. I know, I know. Everyone hates the catcher position in this game but I am personally loving it.

I like playing long games and even though I know it will take a while to get through the minors, It will be rewarding once I get to the show.

My pitcher served to full seasons in the minors and I actually got excited being the opening day starter. I feel like I earned it.

RTTS is the best game mode ever and now of course every other sports game is incorporating a mode similar.

Off topic but I got Tiger Woods 12 The Masters coming and they have a mode "Road to the Masters." Heh.

Re: The big secret to hitting?

My CF is starting his second year, as the starter at AA - most of his first year was a AAA backup and he was sadly overmatched there, hit under .200.

Anyway, his 3rd game in the new season, I hit my first leadoff HR. He followed with an RBI single and then a double. Standing on 2nd, the color guy says, "With that two-bagger, he's now only a triple away from the cycle". Grounded out in the next at-bat, and in my final at-bat, I lined a single to the RF gap, but the RF cut it off quickly and got the ball back in. The color guy says "Well, he didn't get his triple to complete the cycle, but I'm sure he's happy to settle for that single."

That's the closest I've gotten to a cycle and my first 4-hit game that wasn't all singles.

Two games later, he got his first walk-off hit, a single and outfielder error in the bottom of the 10th inning. The error was a throwing error, with the ball coming right across the middle of the diamond. Sort of part of the inconsistent arrangement of players in this game - the SS was out for the relay, but it wasn't that deep (and the ball was way overthrown). The first baseman & 2B were at their bags, I guess to guard me. The runner started on 2nd, so the 3B was at his bag. The pitcher went to backup the plate, so there wasn't anyone in the middle of the diamond to run down the ball, it went all the way across to near the dugout before the pitcher ran it down. The runner had stopped at 3rd, but took off again when the ball was overthrown. He was faster than the pitcher, who got the ball before he crossed the plate, but was too late to even make a throw.

I've had other walk-offs with my other guys, this was the weirdest by far.

Complete 100% of your advancement goals and keep playing well. That is all anyone can really say.

I spent two season in the minors leading the league in EVERY category because there was no room on the 40 man. But, people have done it in under a season before so hang in there. You could get a spot soon.

I been able to complete two out of the four advancement goals but as evident by big fat 0 in the hr column, i'm hindered in the power department...Think it'd be a wise idea to use some training points in beefing up my power..I don't mind sticking it out in the minors for a year

If HR's are part of your goals? Absolutely! Spend some points in power and try to jack some balls every couple of games.

Hit a hotstreak with my 3rd baseman and am hitting .327 with 12 HR (League Leading) 48 RBI (League Leading) 13 2B (Team Leading) and a .631 Slug %. My fielding is still crappy and i have no speed, but that will come soon enough. I just hit for the cycle in my last game too.
