This is something that could be patched though isn't it? If so then just start your franchise and it'll be fixed by the time you get to 2013 anyway.

Possibly although it was in last years game as well and was not patched. Some work arounds were certain rosters or turning training off.

Do you have training set to auto? If the cpu is training it's players it's probably the same situation as last year.

Yes training is set to auto. It is probably likely it is the same situation although I thought I read that it was resolved. I remember reading that training was messing with how FA process works and it was ironed out. I may be wrong I'll see if I can find the post. I know it was in the thread about budget and trade logic being reworked.

It would be cool if they let you edit each teams budget/how much they have to spend. I remember mlb2k4 or 2k5 let you do it.

I wonder if the same thing would happen if each team could afford these players.

Wait the 2013 problem is there again?
The problem for it last year was that too many A prospects were coming in from the draft, namely pitchers.

Unfortunately it looks like it. I am testing now with the default rosters.

Could you tell us more about the statistics on player cards? Specifically, I want to know if they track more career stats than just AB, hits, HR, RBI, and BA.

No same ones, but let me tell you there has been an upgrade in franchise mode. I myself was a little worried, but you can see trading logic is better, the front end and menus are nice. Simmed stats look good. The offseason trading bug is fixed.

The most over looked feature this year in franchise may be the team achievements. Very nice touch and steps in right direction for next year.

Okay...so we shifted the 2013 problem to 2014.
I know Kolbe simmed to 99 years and didn't see this...so I wonder is somehow in their tests....training wasn't on in their sim PC.
I can't think of anything else...as I know Kolbe wouldn't avoid the issue or say otherwise if he still saw a problem.
He's a very straight shooter in every regard.
I'll test it with no training like last year and see if this alleviates the problem as it did in '10.(let's hope..)
...and then we'll just have to make sure with all the franchise upgrades...that this is killed for '12.

Honestly....if it's the same as '10...and it looks like it might be...turning off training alleviated it....so it's not as bad as it looks.(definitely would have preferred a complete fix though)
If...it doesn't....blech.....
But there is always 30 team control again to get things in order.

Great @PlayStation didn't fix the 2013 glitch in #MLB11TheShow -- The game's franchise mode is BROKEN again...way to go.

I am trying single team simming now. After second season 6 A prospects unsigned. Coco Crisp has sat last 2 years.

Now my only worry with 30 team control is budgets look a little tighter this year. You might have to really work on signing everyone. Because arb players look like they are getting paid more realistic this year. Braves have a budget of about 87 and that is for 4 levels.

I am going to try simming without training next

One thing here is there is ALOT fewer A's in these rosters and we are still running into the 2014 bug. I tried a sim with single player control.
