Re: Franchise Issues
In my humble opinion, if these players go unsigned in the 2014 is not a big deal.
Lackey, Kuroda and Bay are the only "stars", if you want to call them that, but in 2014 they will be 3 years older. That puts Lackey at 36years; Kuroda at 39 and Bay at 36. They can easily go unsigned by that age.
I dont know, just my opinion. It doesnt look bad.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
In settings>mode settings>injuries>manual
Then click on player and if like last year assign an injury to them. Best part is after you set up injuries you can put it back to auto and just let in play out rest of way.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
I am having a problem with profile assignments for franchise. I created an additional profile for all other 29 teams with all franchise options on auto (except training), called it CPUAuto. Then I set my user controlled team to the "expert" profile with all of the franchise options set to manual. However, the game is not properly reflecting these changes.
I have properly set up the "Settings File Association" screen, but it is not making the correct changes. I can only get the every team to reflect one profile no matter what I have set for each individual team. Either I am missing something (99% likely) or the profile association in franchise does not seem to working at all.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
In a franchise I played on '10, (year 4 or 5 I think,) Seattle had (in depth chart order) Pujols, Konerko, some A potential kid, and Adrian Gonzalez all at 1b on their MLB roster. They actually traded FOR Konerko, and then just sat Gonzalez on the bench.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Thanks Barnes. I will most likely go with 30 team control again this yaer and just kind of play "God" with each trade that comes up to make sure it makes sense. Did that last year and liked it. Plus 30 team control and watching injuries and what ot helps me stay in tune to team and organizational needs for trades and signings.
I think what they need to add for next year is a Commisioner, or "God" feature to Franchise that allows you to focus on just one team but to approve, alter or deny any trade proposals or roster moves League-wide.
Then you could prevent teams over-stocking at positions, losing needed prospects, etc.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
As a Mariners fan I can honestly say I would love to have that problem. Although I know there is no way in hell we will ever land Pujols.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
See I tried this last year but it was WAY too consuming to try that in addition to managing and actually watching every game for 1 team.

Re: Franchise Issues
What I did is make 2 different profiles in the front end. I made my "default" profile the one that the cpu would use. Then I made one for "my" settings. When I start a franchise I press square and it assigns all teams the "default" I then highlight the team I want to use, press over until I get to my profile and then begin.
Hope that makes sense.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Yeah I did that, but if you go to the disabled list, it doesn't bring up your team rosters so that you can select and player and edit. Last year, there was a third option to actually put the injuries in yourself.
This year according to the description, there's just Manual, MLB Only, and Auto, and manual is the manual option to put an injured player on the disabled list or not. It's not to actually edit the injuries in.
Knight or anyone else seeing this?Last edited by adamj2281; 03-08-2011, 09:31 PM.Comment

Re: Franchise Issues
Problem solved, user error as expected. I was confused with some of the changes to the option screen. It shows the "default profile" under user settings even if you have changed the team to a "non-default profile" in "profile associations;" causing me to presume that the game was not using the profile associations I had setup.Comment
