Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Wow... thanks guys for the suggestions. I pulled the trigger on Adam Dunn only because (Heard he crushes in this game) the deal included Dunn, Buehrle, and Quentin. Also I made a deal to get Erik Aybar and Ervin Santana from the Angels to help better the rotation and offense/defense. So Im thinking:
(Not actual line-up)
LF - Jose Tabata
CF - Andrew McCutchen
RF - Carlos Quentin
3B - Pedro Alverez
SS - Erik Aybar
2B - Niel Walker
1B - Adam Dunn
C - Ryan Doumit
(Not actual rotation)
Mark Buehrle
Ervin Santana
Paul Maholm
James McDonald

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Had a trade with the Rangers go through that absolutely blows my mind.
Rangers get: SP Bronson Arroyo
Reds get: CP Neftali Feliz
SP Martin Perez
SP Tanner Scheppers
The Rangers are a Playoff Push team and they were leading their division by 9 games at the time, but that's a lot of talent to give up. Bronson is now their No.2 and RP Mike Adams their closer. I think there's a good chance the Rangers make the playoffs this year, but this trade will hurt them down the road. It'll be interesting to see how they make out the rest of the year.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Yep...that was an absolute steal for the Reds...Arroyo is at best a 3rd starter on any decent team....The Reds are set for years to come with scheppers and perez..not to mention feliz who gives the reds their close for their futureSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Ill have to see who the Reds got in deals I allowed, but so far theyve unloaded:
Scott Rolen
Brandon Phillips
Bronson Arroyo
Johnny Gomes
Francisco Cordero
Ramon Hernandez
Theyve tried to move Johnny Cueto, Edinson Volquez, & Drew Stubbs but I block it everytime.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Just to add, both Adams and Feliz were A overall relievers at the time. Arroyo and Perez were both B overalls, and Scheppers was a C overall. Both Scheppers and Perez weren't on the 40, and the Game AI trade logic tends to think of players not on 40 as expendable. A lot will depend on whether the acquisition of Arroyo leads to the Rangers making the playoffs/World Series.I'll let you all know how the Rangers make out the rest of the season.BTW, Arroyo was my no.1 before the trade.
I had training on at the time. I think that tends to make the trade logic a little wonky. Seen some more questionable trades since and I think I'll restart the franchise.Last edited by Mike3207; 06-16-2011, 07:42 PM.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Question...
Would you guys get nuts and want to throw away your franchise if this trade went through?
Player A 28 y.o(position player)........ 8 years in the league and a career .294 hitter so far......4 years removed from an MVP season with his last 4 years(present to back 4)... .299/.304/.321/.344...not much power but excellent OBP and a tremendous fielder. A potential ...perennial All-Star
for
Player B 24 y.o(relief pitcher)........4 years in the league....(present to back 4)....3-7 3.04 ERA/1.469 WHIP...7-6 2.94 ERA/1.350 WHIP...7-10 3.70 ERA/1.305 WHIP....6-10 3.55 ERA/1.485 WHIP B potential(being kind)..***n of the mill MR
Thoughts?

Keith Hernandez for Neil Allen....1983.
I only bring it up because I see similar trades discussed and fretted over(and a very similar in my franchise).
Honestly, I don't think guys realize a lot of real life trades(MLB 4 MLB).

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Only problems I ever see happening is Bryce Harper getting offered around like he's Kenny Lofton Jr. Besides that, I feel the potential-based trades are fair game. Who, to this date in time, thought that Mark Prior would be done pitching in the Majors? (Speaking of which, I sign him in the game and attempt to resurrect his career, LOL)Brewers | Golden Eagles | Packers | Bucks | Badgers | Fulham FC
