Think i'm around the 23-10 mark. The Cubs are about 3 GB in 2nd place.

I agree on the early trading btw, but I just don't know how to pitch with Volquez effectively. Once a couple of hits are given up it's like BP out there. Either that or he becomes so wild the pitches aren't even in the same state let alone the strike zone.

I play most games so I decided to pull the trigger on the deal. It felt slightly more realistic because Shields had started so badly in Tampa.

Do you think this is a fair trade?

Cardinals Get: Mark Teixeira, Rafael Soriano

Yankees Get: Albert Pujols, Eduardo Sanchez

Confusing, but yes. I don't think it would ever happen in real life but both teams are getting good players in return and if St. Louis is sure that Pujols won't return, it works for them.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

One of my favorite things about this game is being able to wheel and deal and get people I want on my team. I am a die hard Braves fan, so I start out with them. I'm at the All Star Break in year one and here is my hitters, pitching staff, and notables in the minors...way to many trades have been made to get to this point, but I am 110% satisfied with my team and the future of the team.

          Brian McCann - C
          Adam Dunn - 1B
          Dan Uggla - 2B
          Brandon Phillips - SS
          Chone Figgins - 3B
          Nate McClouth - LF
          Drew Stubbs - CF
          Jason Heyward - RF
Bench players - David Ross, C ; Carlos Quentin, OF ; Brandon Hicks, SS ; Eric Hinske, UTL ; Hank Blaylock, 1B

          Starters
Tim Hudson, Tommy Hanson, Jair Jurjens, Fransico Lirano, Edison Volquez, Edwin Jackson (use as a long reliever)
          Notable relievers
John Venters, Daniel Bard, Craig Kimbrel

          Notable minor leaguers
Mike Minor, Brandon Beachy, Freddie Freeman, Darwin Barney, Julio Teheran

It was insane the amount of trades I made to get to this point, but I have speed, power, good pitching, and got a little younger without making major sacrifices to my farm system.

Since it's MY Franchise, I figure I can make my own trades. This one was definetly a steal...

              Yankees(Me) Get:
              David Ortiz
              Red Sox Get:
              Brett Gardner*

*-I sent him down to AAA because he was not going to start. I had traded for Grady Sizemore, and I have Willy Taveras on the bench. Also, Ortiz has hit 3 HR's in 2 days. Including a Walk-off against his former team!

Why in the hell would the Sox accept that trade?

I'm looking for a cheap starter in my padres franchise. I only have like 500,000$ in cap space and am willing to trade Tim Stauffer and 2 A or B pitching prospects. Any suggestions?

Jason Vargas of the Mariners, he is a pretty good lefty at a low price I believe.

I second Vargas. Or Fister even. Both are doing great in my franchise. Just make sure you locate.

They can be wild cards at times, neither are hard ball pitchers, so if you leave a hanging slider, or even fastball or changeup, it has the potential to be hit VERY far. As long as you keep the ball low with these guys, they're pretty good.
