Gosh, I seriously can't believe I managed to pull this off. And yes, I know it wouldn't EVER happen irl.

      Chi. Sox get:
      Justin Verlander
Some F potential, who had a semi-large contract

      Tigers get:
      John Danks
      Gavin Floyd
      A pot. prospect
      A pot. prospect

Even though it wasn't really rational, there was a decent idea behind it...

Verlander was in his 3rd year, and was struggling, with a record of 0-5,and a high-3, low-4 era. The tigers also needed cap relief, as they had something like 1 mil of leeway.

The tigers end up getting Gavin Floyd who is a serviceable SP, who was having a great year, and the 27 yr. old John Danks who budded into an elite pitcher. He was 4-0 with a low-3 ERA. The Sox get great pitching talent.

Gavin Floyd was expendable for me because I had a 22 yr. old in AAA who was tearing it up, plus, I can't pitch for my life with him.

Following the Marlins as I do, you would have to come with a HUGE offer for Hanley. His contract for his age and skill set is probably the best in baseball, and right now there is no reason for them to trade him.

Yeah, that makes sense. A high three ERA isn't that bad and only 0-5?? The season isn't nearly enough in the books for the Tigers to give up their franchise player. Not to mention Verlander wouldn't be traded in a million years. At least you made it as fair as you could.

Ack, scratch that. A high four ERA right around the all-star break. He was 0-5 partly due to injuries, and partly because of the tigers sucking. I think they were either in last, or 2nd-to-last a few games after the all star break. They still got 2 great starters, a solid young outfield prospect, and an mlb-ready 22 yr. old infielder.

I try to cap myself to 2 per season, but I do not include CPU initiated trades in my cap
What if signatures didn't mean anything?

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

I pulled off a blockbuster trade that is very interesting. My Reds are in first place at 41-28, two games ahead of the Cardinals, but I am getting a lot of errors from my shortstops, Renteria and Janish. I offered Jay Bruce and Scott Rolen to the Rockies for Troy Tulowitzki and Ian Stewart. The Interest level bar was about 3/4 filled and I was somewhat surprised to see 2 or 3 games later that the Rockies accepted the trade!

Colorado was also in first place at the time, at 40-29, and Bruce and Tulowitzki have very similar stats. Rolen was batting at .272 and Stewart only .232 but both with similar home runs and RBIi's. Bruce is 23 and Tulowitzki is 26 years old, so the Rockies benefit there, but Stewart is twenty-something and Rolen is 35.

I guess that the Rockies were really wanting a top outfielder, perhaps wanting a left-handed hitter in the middle of their lineup?

Hmmm.. Just a thought would you trade Kyle Gibson 23 year old A potential pretty high overall and a B prospect for Mat Latos?

In my Cubs franchise with the OS Trade deadline rosters.

                      Cubs get:
                      Matt Kemp

                      Dodgers get:
                      Alfonso Soriano
                      Brett Jackson
                      B potential prospect

I think I gave up alot with Brett Jackson, but the ability to have Kemp hit in Wrigley was too tempting.

Normally I would have called that deal unfair, but the Dodgers are struggling to pay anybody and they aren't very good, so I like it.

Hmm this trade is really difficult..

Twins trade ( first in divison by .5 games )

Fransico Liriano 27 YO A potential... Nasty ace stuff but after 2 straight starts of 8 and 10 runs allowed and a high 5 era... Walks a lot of hitters but strikes a lot of hitters out.

Danny Valencia ( Don't have to trade him but would make it more fair ) 26 YO B potential hitting .200 but hot as of late on pace for 18 home runs and 60 rbis plays great defense.

                                Royals trade ( 14.5 Games out... )

Mike Moustakas 22-23 YO A potential batting .270 with 15 homers and 50 rbis in AAA.

I don't want to give a divison rival who will be good in a season a true ace ( at times has the stuff ) and a talented third basemen that can hit be their number 6 hitter for when they get good.... Plus a have a lefty dominant lineup so a lefty pitcher will dominate me when I have to face him.

                                Thoughts?
