Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
One other thing I noticed, relevant to your post.
You know in the 'manage contracts' screen, where renewal and Arb players have the indicator next to their names...where some say 'Type B'...but only the relevant players to the team your controlling has renewal and Arb listed on that screen?...
Well, some Arb eligible players DIDN'T have that note there...example, Travis Ishakawa for SFG if I remember correctly. I only knew to check him, and others, due to their ball cap (MLB, and MiLB hats)...
I don't understand this. I clicked on the player, and it said 'offer arbitration'....but the Arb notice on the manage contracts screen wasn't there...but WAS there for some. Any ideas as to why?Comment

Auto training, while simming to 2015 season, or 2014 season?
And I'll set everything to Auto. But please...if you have time...or anyone for that matter, please feel free to do it too.
Remember, on the day of the first star, I clicked 'sim to date,' meaning I was on the next day when I made offers across the board. Only for three teams, simming one day at a time for EVERY day of the offseason.Comment

Can you explain why some arbitration eligable players don't have the icon in the manage contracts screen? You only see it when you click on their name.
Am I missing something?Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
Guys,
I'll run another sim if I can...but if anyone could answer my questions above, that would be awesome.
The arb notice question.
And what year should I sim to with auto training? 2014?
Also, do I need to count, one by one, the number of A rated prospects starting in 2014 on the FA pool...let alone track them for the next season???Is there a faster way to count them without checking EVERY player card and writing all the A's down on a paper? Does my question make sense?Comment

Psychobulk, let's hope so! I'm exhausted today!!! LOL I can't imagine how the real life Devs do it. My guess: No sleep. God bless them.
In a couple more nights, let's cross our fingers that we can isolate the problem...
I probably can only get one sim in...we'll probably need a bunch more to create a controlled study. If anyone wants to try, PM me or post in here if the details I listed about how I did my sim last night weren't explanatory enough.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 03-16-2011, 06:48 PM.Comment

The trade logic is 'broken' (used loosely) in 30 team franchises. In one team franchises, where you have no contract control of CPU teams, it works perfectly.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
TBarnes,
If I set everything to auto on my profile team, wouldn't they therefore be a CPU team?...Like the other two?
The only difference is, I'd assign two CPU profiles...one for 'my' team, and one for the other 29.
Hmmm...I'll have to look through the options. I wonder if there's an offseason FA signing only option?Comment

Okay. I'll try this.

Any player with less than 3 years service time should be contract renewable unless they have super-2 status. Even in the case of super-2, they will be arbitration eligible until they have at least 6 years of mlb service at which time they qualify for FA. Once they qualify for FA, they can be offered arbitration (and can decline without a hearing) so that if they decide to sign elsewhere and fall into either 1) Type A or 2)Type B categories, the team that loses them gets compensation.
Upon looking it appears Ishikawa only has ~ 2 years of service time at the start of this season. So there is no reason he shouldn't show up in the off-season as either a) contract renewable or b) arbitration eligible.
So, basically, dude... I have no idea why he doesn't have either option. It doesn't make sense.Comment
